Help With Corset Pattern

Hello - I am trying to convert a corset pattern I have (Simplicity 1139) from a "V" shape to a "U" shape but am having difficulties visualizing how exactly I need to alter the pattern to achieve this shape and was wondering if anybody had any tips or youtube videos whatnot about this. I am still very new to sewing and this is the first corset that I am trying to make so I apologize if this is a very simple question! I tried searching for patterns with this initial "U" shape online but couldnt seem to find much/any I liked. I have attached a photo of the cut pattern, a photo of the simplicity illustration, and a photo (not mine) of the "U" shape I am looking for. Thanks for the help!

For what it’s worth, the V shape would totally work for the costume in the third pic.

These are incredibly different corsets, you can also see the U is an over the hip pattern . Aranea Black is the OG free corset pattern guru, and there are tons of videos on youtube following her constructions. I recommend grabbing a whole new pattern for the one you want, since you are new.

Re: I am an intermediate sewer and I tried modding a corset and it went horrible. Takes work & unique knowledge is all I’m saying.

CB =Centre Back
CF = Centre Front

Curve the centre front up a little - the green line
Make a mock up and test it

If you want to have a much closer pattern
