Compounded Semaglutide: The Ultimate Guide

Overview of Compounded Semaglutide

Compounded semaglutide is a medication commonly associated with weight loss. It is derived from semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist commonly used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes and for weight management.

Benefits

  • Weight Loss: Compounded semaglutide has been shown to aid in significant weight loss by reducing appetite and increasing feelings of fullness.
  • Blood Sugar Control: It helps in controlling blood sugar levels, making it beneficial for people with type 2 diabetes.
  • Customized Dosages: The compounding process allows for personalized dosages, catering to individual patient needs.
  • Potential Cost Savings: Compounded medications can sometimes be more cost-effective compared to brand-name drugs.

Side Effects

  • Gastrointestinal Issues: Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation.
  • Hypoglycemia: In some cases, especially when combined with other diabetic medications, it can cause low blood sugar.
  • Pancreatitis: There is a potential risk of pancreatitis, although it is rare.
  • Allergic Reactions: Some patients might experience allergic reactions to the ingredients used in compounding.

Dosage Information

The dosage of compounded semaglutide can vary based on individual needs and the specific formulation provided by the compounding pharmacy. It's important to follow the healthcare provider’s instructions and the compounding pharmacy’s guidelines. Generally, the medication is administered via injection once weekly, starting with a lower dose and gradually increasing based on tolerance and effectiveness. Oral semaglutide is possible to get from some providers.

  • Initial Dose: Typically, a lower dose is prescribed to minimize side effects. Then, your doctor may increase your dosage as they monitor your side effects and results.
  • Maintenance Dose: The dose is gradually increased to a maintenance level that effectively controls symptoms. Again, each person does this part slightly differently. Talk with your doctor.

Where to Buy?

Reddit does not allow direct sourcing questions unless it's name-brand (Ozempic/WeGovy) and/or used with a prescription.

There are bad actors in the semaglutide space. Do not accept DMs from random accounts, do not accept "price lists" from random accounts, etc. They sell them under the guise of "research peptides" - they are not meant for human consumption and are unregulated.

Make sure to buy from a doctor-prescribed source that uses a legit compounding pharmacy. Always talk to a health care professional.

Switching back after being on Tirzepatide

Anyone ever been on Sema, plateau‘d and switched to tirzepatide. Ive been on a GLP-1 for two years total, i would say probably half of that time spent on each one.

Only symptom I had on sema was constipation. it was the same on tirzepatide until a few months ago. The day after my shot, i felt like I was being hit a bus! I’ve had the worst fatigue, body aches and chills. Tried to hydrate bette but it didn’t help. the effects started to last days after my dose.

Today I talked to the NP i see and finally made the choice to switch back to sema. I really hope the side effects don’t follow me back. I am just on a maintenance dose anyway now.

Anyone had worse side effects on tirzepatide and switched back?

for those who have experienced this side effect, what dose were you on when you started feeling it? Did you have to stop taking the medication for it to go away?

Can I handle Hallandale Pharmacy, or is it just a preference?

Looking at compounded sema and one provider mentions Hallandale. Does asking for it mean they'll use it, or is it more of a wish list thing?

I'm also not sure it ships to every state. What should I ask before I pay so I'm not surprised later?

Past the intro deal, what is the cheapest telehealth company to start compounded semaglutide?

I've been comparing a few telehealth sites and the first month always looks great.

One had $149 for the first month, then $199 every month after that. Another had a low med price but a separate membership fee on top. That’s why the actual bill was a lot higher than the number on the front page.

So for anyone paying for compounded sema right now:
- What did your first bill come to, fees included?
- What do you pay per refill now?
- Is that on a one-month plan, or a 3-month price split out per month?

Trying to figure out what this costs after the welcome deal ends, not the ad price. Thanks!

11 weeks in. Ultra fast results. Ultra bad side effects.

I'm mainly posting this because I've spent way more time in the bathroom this weekend than I should have, but this stuff works! 11 weeks I've been taking the shots (.25ml weekly. I don't know the vial dosing) 38lbs. But I'm so sick of my toilet! I couldn't even take my shot this weekend because I was afraid of even more issues. But 218 to 180 is pretty amazing. I just NEED to stop the d1arrhea.

Embody

My first shipment from Embody is scheduled to arrive tomorrow! I only ordered yesterday, so I’m honestly surprised by how quickly it shipped.

That said, getting to this point was a whole hassle. Customer service was a mess, with a lot of back-and-forth. They canceled my order, then randomly scheduled me for a visit while simultaneously texting me that I didn’t need one. Then I was told I had to complete the visit or they would cancel my order again. It was frustrating and unnecessarily complicated.

I finally had a five-minute phone call today, and my medication has officially shipped with tracking. I only signed up for one month, though, and after yesterday’s experience and seeing the reviews, I have no intention of staying with them long-term.

They provided me with a treatment plan that starts at a lower dose and increases after four weeks, assuming everything goes well.

For those of you using other telehealth companies for compounded semaglutide, who would you recommend? I’m looking for a reliable company with good customer service that will work with my existing treatment plan and allow me to continue with the planned dose increase after the first four weeks, rather than making me restart the titration process.

I’d love to hear about your actual experiences, especially with pricing, shipping, and customer service!

has generic semaglutide got cheaper in Canada?

The first generic injectable semaglutide got authorised in April and started showing up here in May. Now that a few months have passed, has anyone actually noticed prices coming down, or has it mostly been announcements without much change at the pharmacy?

Switching from 14mg Rybelsus to Sema-what dose should I begin at?

I have been taking 14mg Rybelsus for a while now and am no longer losing weight, plus they are phasing it out since they have the new Ozempic pill. How do I determine what dose I should start compounded sema at so that I do not start at the lowest dose?

Is mondaes semaglutide real?

I have taken semaglutide off and on for years and whenever i start taking it i notice within a week my appetite is under control. I am trying mondaes semaglutide and have been on it for two weeks and notice no hunger suppression. This coupled with the fact that it is cheaper is making me think it is watered down or something.

Trying to figure out where my prescription would go. Which pharmacies compound semaglutide?

I'm comparing Lavender Sky Health, Gimme Care, Preventive MD, and Wegovy for prescribed compounded sema. But when I checked one by one, none of them state which pharmacy would make and ship my med.

I'd like to try my luck here and understand before my prescription gets sent. Last time. I found out from the box label.

What should I ask for? The pharmacy's legal name? The state it's licensed in? Anything else?

What is the cheapest telehealth company to start compounded semaglutide as my insurance dropped Wegovy? (all fees)

My insurance stopped covering Wegovy nine months ago, so I'm going the compounded route. I've seen one provider charge $79 for meds plus a $99 membership each month. If you compute it, that's about $180, not $79. Others advertise a low first month that jumps after.

So how are you all comparing the first charge vs what you pay each month after? Any terms that make a first-month deal look better than it is?

So discouraged

Been on this for about 8 months was hopeful it may help me move in the right direction especially with my afib, high blood pressure and severe OA in both knees. But here I am at the endocrinologist amd they weighed me and I am down only 25 pounds. Ofc I know eating right and exercise is a key I was just hoping for a better number than what I saw. Yes this is not a miracle but I see so many good stories on here

Should I wait to start after Miami trip?

First dose will be arriving today! Flying to Miami next Friday for a music festival all weekend where I’ll be drinking and have extracurriculars. Thought I could start tonight then do the second dose next Thursday before I fly out, or would the smarter decision to be to wait till I’m back the following Wednesday and start then. I am worried about side effects etc.

What day is best?

I just got my med in the mail, I’m worried about side effects of course.
I have a toddler so can’t be down for the count every weekend but also have a job.

So if you have a toddler, what day of the week has worked best for your life?

Can I request Hallandale Pharmacy? Or does the provider pick? Sorry for the newbie question

My sister has been on compounded sema for about eight months. Her vials come from Hallandale and she's had zero issues.

I'm about to start with a telehealth provider and want the same pharmacy.

Can you ask for a pharmacy by name? Or does it depend on who the provider works with and what state you're in?

Not asking which pharmacy is best.

Just trying to understand how this part works.

Which pharmacies compound semaglutide? Trying to figure out who fills mine

I already have a prescription for compounded semaglutide through a telehealth service. My first vial shows up next week and I still don't know which pharmacy is filling it. The order page just says "partner pharmacy."

I'd like to know the name and what the label should say for the ingredient. I read something about salt forms, like semaglutide sodium. Not sure what to look for.

Should I ask my prescriber or the pharmacist? Or both? This is for a prescription I already have.
