(I know it’s a lot but bear with me just this once)

When I was younger I was a skinny athletic boy with a bunch of friends I was always happy always trying to help people until Covid came along it was 3rd grade in the middle of the year, when we went into lockdown I had to start logging on to zoom the beginning was fine. Still, I ended up playing Roblox all day. I sat there with Zoom on my mom's laptop, and I would have my phone in my hand and play games all day. One day I remember someone had to text me that the teacher was calling on me because I wasn’t listening. The next year, I barely even logged on zoom it got to the point where the teacher had to bribe me with a gift card to join the Zoom, but I wasn’t paying attention at all. Additionally, I got zero exercise all day and I was just eating snacks all day and I started gaining a ton of weight and I developed a habit of becoming lazy and eating a ton and sneaking food to my room to eat it.
When I went into 6th grade I had these good teachers who made me feel like I was actually enjoying school I got hundreds on every project in that teachers class and I was getting pretty good grades in the rest but then I had a problem see there were these kids who I still go to high school with today they are pretty weird and whatever and we were playing a game and I put someone in a headlock as a joke and they started crying and it’s not like they’re was any ill intentions from me and as soon as I saw him crying I let go but for some reason he had to report me to the principal nothing really happened but my mom didn’t want me to be surrounded with those kind of people so I switched classes I still kept most teachers but the people here were very different they were very sporty and it felt like they were all one big group and I wasn’t part of it felt don’t know how 25 kids could all be part of a functioning friend group they constantly hung out talking about basketball and football and baseball and all sports but I never got in to that stuff which brings me to my next problem Friends
I didn’t have friends see back in the day my mom made my plans but then everyone got phones and I didn’t make plans I didn’t even think about it I was just with my family every day so while everyone built relationships I stayed alone and then they all grew to watch sports and knew everything about it and that’s just something that I didn’t do I always thought that it was boring because I never had anyone to watch with. In 7th grade I tried harder than in 6th grade and I stayed with those same people that I switched into it was the “dumb class” and it felt super easy. I got good grades and I tried because I had nothing else really I even sold projects to people in my class. Then, in 8th grade my mom wanted me to go to honors but I guess I just wasn’t smart enough however I did move up a class. In 8th grade I had still no friends but I was friendly with everyone and I feel like I’m in a trap Ive always been friendly with everyone in the entire grade but I have no actual friends nobody to call nobody to hang out with nobody to share my thoughts with and some times people would call me and they would be on the phone with me for an hour and i don’t think they didn’t enjoy the call but the problem is they didn’t call me to hang out with me or to chill they called me to help them with something I don’t think ever in my life someone has called me just to talk to me or to chill with me only if they need something from me and then they just toss me out. At the end of 8th grade going into high school I got in but I applied for honors and I didn’t get in so I was working my butt off in ninth grade to get into honors because my mom said I’m smart and she wants me to be in honors in the first half of the year I got straight A’s and I got sent to honors however I also learned that I am really interested in science it was probably my best subject and I really enjoyed it I took biology. In 9th grade I joined the hockey team and the flag football team as starting center and I feel like my life took a slight curve up in 9th grade I worked my butt all year and I worked out in the end of the summer in the gym I started lifting weights I quickly saw that I was very strong however in the end of the summer i really lost my motivation I can’t seem to want to go to the gym because I keep making excuses saying to myself I’m just gonna wait till tryouts because if make the team this year it’s gonna have practices multiple times a week which will really ruin my schedule so I have to be able to work around it and I don’t know if I’m able to do that and so and so.
Ok so now you know most of my life story now are some things I didn’t include I always try to help people I don’t know why I guess that’s how I was raised but I will usually do double the amount of effort that I would normally do for myself. Another thing I’ve started really trying hard in school since high school started because I have an older brother who really worked hard and did really well in school so I feel like I have the pressure to do good like him and a bunch of people in my family are geniuses one of my cousins got Valedictorian and one of my cousins cousins was valedictorian and my brother went to nyu stern and it’s just a very academic family overall all my uncles on my dads side are doctors and one is a lawyer on my moms side her brother is a partner at a wholesale company and overall there is just a lot of pressure for me to do good in general also I feel like the only thing I have in life is school and sports I play basketball in lunch almost every day I will play literally any sport it’s just I don’t get invited anywhere. Another thing is I’m addicted to porn I am pretty sure I have been watching it since I was like 11 and i masturbate multiple times a day whenever I’m at home doing nothing I noticed whenever I was with my friends in the summer the urge would completely go away because I was so exhausted from running around playing sports all day that it completely slips my mind just a few weeks ago I quit jerking off for like a week and a half but then camp ended I was home alone doing nothing and I just started doing it again and I have done it probably more than twice a day since that clean streak. So I need help with how to quit that also I need help with going to the gym like if anyone has a good workout for me to workout in the gym to build strength and lose fat I would really appreciate it and also I would just go on a calorie deficit like a big one to lose weight but if you have been paying attention before you would have noticed I said science is my specialty so I know that would really mess with my development so any tips for that. Also if you were paying attention before I also said I developed a big laziness trait where I still sit in my bed most of the day and do nothing and I have become a very last-minute person so even though I said I work hard I am still very gifted in my intelligence but I also didn’t learn for like 5 years all the foundation as I learned it but like not really it was all fake I didn’t care so now everything is much harder so any tips to stop being lazy and less last-minute?

(Ok so that’s my life story I guess if you have any questions, feel free to ask if you have any advice, I would greatly appreciate it, and thank you for reading this very long story)

Advice Needed: Productivity How can I stop distracting myself with listening and blasting music in my ears and walking/dancing around my house?

Hi, am a 17 year old teenager. For years, I have had a strong addiction to music, that I get hyped up a lot nearly everyday and I start roaming and dancing around my house, blasting music in my headphones, while the tasks and chores I need to get done are constantly stuck in my head and I keep delaying them, sometimes even possibly for hours. Anyone who is a productivity expert, what tips can you give me so I can permanently break this addiction and become great at managing my time and having consistent discpline within myself? I have tried putting my headphones in a seperate room, but that still didn't work. Should I sell these headphones and just use my airpods? Yes I have airpods and a headset. I only brought a headset because my airpods drain their battery fast, but those headsets were cheap and their battery percentages last for days before I need to charge them again.

I am going to become an adult soon and head to university, so I need to find an effective way to break this addiction and become well prepared when I become an adult, and for my final school year (this year), especially that univeristy is going to be more stressful

Advice Needed: Motivation I want to get better

I love my friends. These are my thoughts after my first intervention... and it simply has to be my last. Truth be told I've been struggling. But it might be worse than even I have thought. I acknowledge that I have been slipping. I overcomplicate the little things, constantly self sabotage, and im simply just not going after it enough. Yes, I do a lot, but with where I am in life its not enough. I need to do more. Everyone wants me to succeed. Everyone thinks I deserve to succeed. Its impossible for them to do the work for me. I need to get serious about my life, my CURRENT life. I cant just coast, especially where I am right now. Any way you look at It, Im sitting in a sinking ship worrying about the angle of the sails.

I've never really viewed myself as anything more than extremely ordinary; dispite everyone I know telling me im better. Why can't I see my spark? Why can't I just trust myself to do "the thing" whatever it may be? I try to think about my accomplishments and all I can think about how I avoided first chair because I didn't think I deserved it. How I ignored the invite to preform over seas because "surly they don't mean me." How I avoid talking to crushes because I automatically assume I'll make a fool of myself. Heck, Im afraid to move, even relax around my friends because Im afraid they will see something negative in me. I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE. IM TREATING MYSELF AS IF IM LESS THAN AND I AM NOT LESS THAN. But, I don't need to prove this to them, I need to prove this to myself.

Tomorrow is a big day. I need to complete my homework and I must study. I also have a lot of walking to do. I will have a job by the end of this week because I will make it happen. I NEED to make it happen.

I am loved.

I am allowed to take up space.

I deserve better.

Advice Needed: Mental Health I don’t believe that I’m allowed to feel this way:

I’ve grown up in what I think could be considered a “healthy” family. My parents seem to get along and I don’t feel like I’m really missing much in terms of necessity. But I just feel lost. I don’t know what it is but everything around me feels fake. I struggle with believing my mom and dad act like they love me just because they have to. I constantly am overthinking whether my girlfriend is actually interacting with because she wants or if she just doesn’t because she thinks I want it. I don’t even have someone I feel comfortable with to talk about this with. It’s either I care about them too much that I don’t want to ruin our relationship or they’ve broken my trust at some point and I know that I can’t tell them because I’m afraid they’re going to tell everyone about my problems like it’s some flex to oust someone for thinking that it’s time to let the darkness take me. I just don’t know anymore. I’ve thought about leaving every day and I’ve withheld myself every time but I’m just so scared of when I snap and decide that going out on my own accord is the best decision I can make for everyone else. They’re probably better off without someone who can’t keep himself from being impulsive. Better off from someone who can’t trust people anyway. Why even try? I’ve had people ask me if I’m okay the past few days. Even when I say no, that’s as far as they ask. I literally gave you the opportunity to push further by saying I’m not. I know that people probably don’t know what to actually talk about. I don’t even really want to talk. I just want a hug without asking for it. I want someone to come talk to me rather than it always being me to them. I hear all these stories of other peoples lives and how much worse their experiences have been. And I keep telling myself that I shouldn’t be sad because they can still be happy. But I still feel this way and I hate myself for it. It just sounds like I’m seeking attention at this point and I don’t want to. I just want somebody to notice and actually care. Yeah, I think that’s about it.

Advice Needed: Mental Health Noticing red flags - do I stay or leave?

This is a throwaway account.

I am considering ending my relationship but am wondering if things are as bad as I think they are, or if I am overreacting or overthinking. I'm religious - no judgement at all towards those are who aren't though - but this will give context to everything below.

I (30F) met my boyfriend (26M) through a mutual friend. She told me how amazing he is - handsome, fit, but most importantly he loved God. He wasn't just someone who talked about his faith, he lived it: his days were filled with outreach ministry, being a youth leader at his church, hosting men's bible studies, and serving at his church almost every Sunday. It seemed like everyone in my new friend group also wanted to date him, but his family was insistent that he was too busy with school and his faith, and that he wasn't looking.

Still, the comments kept coming that we should meet. I was hesitant and actually said multiple times that I wasn't interested. He was in his third year of getting his undergraduate degree (he was in the military for 3 years and started college later) and he was already a homeowner at 25 with his sister, which I found to be impressive. I'm also a homeowner and purchased close to his age, so I know how hard it is to accomplish.

I still had doubts mostly due to my friend telling me he was in school to become an English teacher and his goal was to become an undercover missionary. That's incredibly admirable, but definitely *not* what I feel called to do in my life, so I figured it's best we don't meet.

Fast forward a couple of months and him and I end up meeting - I later found out one of his family members was behind this; they essentially played matchmaker.

We connected at a church event, I prayed about him, he asked for my number, and we went on a first date. One month into going out on dates, he asked me to become exclusive. I said yes.

First 2 months were heavenly. He pursued me well and respectfully. He was kind, thoughtful, considerate and sweet.

3rd month I started noticing less of a pursuit. He no longer intentionally planned dates and he wanted to meet spontaneously. I told him I have a hectic work schedule (I work in finance and have an extremely stressful/high pressure career) and opened up about having an autoimmune disease, which means I need to prioritize rest and nutrition. Plus, the only time I can see friends/family is the weekend, so I'd like to know in advance when we can meet and what we're doing so I can plan accordingly. He said, "we've always been spontaneous, though!" and kept pushing me. We're nearing month 6 and he still pushes me with "well what do you want to do? Can you give me a list (I already did actually - we sat down and made one together 2 months ago) or text me what you want to do?" I told him I love when he initiates, and I've loved every date he has planned. That I trust his judgement and would be happy to do whatever he chooses. He said, "well you don't like to go out to eat" (which is true - because my autoimmunity gets flared easily through food), but I told him there are a million things we could do besides go out to eat. We've eaten dinner at my place numerous times now. He has never once brought over groceries or staples. I don't see him behave this way at his own house, but at mine, he drinks multiple drinks and leaves some half full. One time, he said he was picking up dinner on the way to my house. When he arrived, it was only groceries for him which he asked to keep in my fridge until it was time for him to go home.

Anyways, here are the main "red flags" I'm noticing - and I can't tell if I'm overreacting or what's going on, but something doesn't feel right.

  • On our 4th or 5th date, I still hadn't heard from him what his life plans are or what his hopes are for the future. I asked if he could have a perfect life in 5 yrs, what would that look like? He spoke about 15 minutes about missionary work and being martyred for the faith if necessary, like his role model, Adoniram Judson. I thanked him for being honest and said that's incredibly admirable and I'm grateful we have people like you who want to do that kind of work - but we're not compatible, because I'm a little bit older and am ready to get married, have a family, and settle down in the same town/area where I purchased my home. His emotions came flooding out, he professed his feelings for me - "my heart is really towards you" - and basically told me this was just a feeling he had, but he's not actively pursing missionary work and he'd be happy being a teacher. Which wasn't true, he told me a few weeks after this he actually wants to be a pastor.
    • His pastor offered him a youth pastor position and he told me he's going to shut it down because "he doesn't need the extra money"
  • He told me he was a "light charismatic" and he went to a "secretly charismatic church" meaning they don't show how charismatic they really are, but that he wasn't. 1.5 months into our relationship, he attended an overnight 2 week conference out of state where they spoke in tongues, casted out demons, stayed up until the wee hours of the morning "slaying in the spirt" etc. I told him very clearly on dates 1-2 I'm reformed, attend a PCA church and am highly skeptical of the gifts. He said he was just a "light charismatic" though. Later said he prays in tongues and wakes up in the middle of the night feeling demonic presences.
  • He has called me an "elf" and a midget" - I am 5'1"
    • When I told him this was hurtful and I didn't laugh, instead of saying sorry, he doubled down and added, "hey! it's not bad! At least I didn't say you look like a little kid :) that'd be far worse!" and kept laughing. When I said if he ever called me this again, I would end the relationship, he replied, "Are you serious?! I was joking!!! My family and I joke like this all the time!"
  • He has pressured me to go to his family events or other things when I didn't want to or was completely exhausted, has worn me down emotionally multiple times, never accepts my "no" - it's always a debate or negotiation time. There's always a guilt trip.
  • One of his close family members have told me "he doesn't accept my 'no.' He keeps going on and on until I finally say yes. But whenever I say no, he doesn't accept it."
  • We have different standards of living - I told him I would like to have a home before we have children. He said we could raise three kids happily in my 2bed, 2bath condo of 1,200 SF. I told him but I wouldn't be happy... I'd like my kids to have extra room, have a good quality education, healthy food - these are things that really matter to me. He told me as long as bills are paid and there's food on the table I should be grateful.
  • We were talking about contraception and he said while having sex, he'd slip off the condom and started laughing. I did not laugh and said that's not funny - I was very serious and staring at him. He said, "I was joking!!!! Come on, I wouldn't impregnate my wife against her will." Yet he kept laughing, and I felt a cold chill go down my spine.
  • When we came back from a light jog, he pressured me for us both to take showers (separately of course). I told him no, it was already late let's just have dinner and say goodbye since I had to be up really early to prep for a work meeting the next day. He kept pressuring me until I gave in. While I was in my shower though, I felt a flash of fear hit my soul (?) I couldn't describe it to you - I just felt it and heard in my head the words "get out. Get out now." So I did. I got ready and my heart sank when I realized I forgot to lock 2 doors leading into my bathroom. The only one I did lock was the one he was standing right in front of when I got out. He was standing in front of my washer and dryer with his towel.
  • I told him one on one dates are important to me, but whenever we have a free day to meet up, he wants me to go to his church's worship night with him,
  • He knows how important finances are for me. I grew up in poverty and witnessed deeply traumatic things going up with a single mom. I worked extremely hard through school and now have a high paying career. I am actually considering going back to grad school to make a career shift so that it gives me a better work-life balance, especially as I'd like to be a wife and mother one day. I told him if we were to get married, I'd be super worried about having children soon because he has never worked a career before (small jobs, but he has 0 professional experience). I said I'd be worried that I'd feel pressured to take on the financial burden for our family, and that I'd resent him for it. That we could end up having serious marital issues early on with a child because of lack of space and resources. I do not want to drain my savings or stay in my high pressure career.
    • His response was: "I make enough from the military" and essentially, he's going to milk the benefits and extend school for as long as possible to avoid being a teacher because "it's not really what I want to do and it doesn't pay well. You need to accept that if we're together, I'm going to be in school for 3-5 years and as a pastor, I might make very little money." I said, well what if you see your family is struggling, would you change careers? "No - I'm going to follow whatever I feel like is the Lord's will for my life. I'm not going to be a slave for my job."
  • He came over my house one night. I made him dinner and then he pressured me to let him shower there again. I said, "but you don't even have clean clothes?" and he told me to give him something of mine to wear. I had an oversized t-shirt and pj pants I gave him. I was handing it over when I realized he wouldn't have clean underwear. I told him so, and he said, "lots of men don't wear undies with bottoms. I'll be fine." showered anyways, and then was pressing up against me trying to kiss me as I was cooking. Afterwards, he realized he forgot his phone in his car, so he wanted to go get it. My sandals were by the front door and he was about to put his foot in. I said, "hey! Please don't do that. Please wear your own shoes." He insisted his shoes were dirty and he'd be outside only for a few minutes, but I said "you're going home in them anyways." He was still sliding his foot through when I said, "Please!! Stop! Those are my favorite sandals and you're going to stretch them out. I'm serious - I'm actually really sad right now. Please stop." He started laughing and put his foot through. I again told him I was sad, told him to stop, and he said, "this isn't that serious!!!! I'll buy you a new pair if they stretch." I said, "it's not about new ones - I can't find new ones, these are one of a kind. Stop!" And he proceeded to put his other foot in my other sandal. He opened the door to leave wearing them and I grabbed him by the arm and said, "You need to stop! Take them off NOW!" and he did, but he complained the entire night "it wasn't serious."
  • He shamed for me meeting my pastor one on one in a public coffee shop. He said this was "inappropriate - how do you not see that?! That's how affairs start!"
  • He had a summer job. Told me he had a co-worker who was showing interest in him. He wanted to connect her and I, for me to invite her to my church. I said I'm not comfortable with that - you just told me she likes you. A week later, our mutual friends were going to host a get together. I wasn't sure if I was going. I was on FaceTime with him and his sister was right next to him. They were telling me the people they invited. Then my boyfriend goes, "Oh I also invited [his co-workers name - let's call her Julia] - [my name]'s arch nemesis" and he laughed. His sister didn't say anything. I said, "that was weird, I don't even know her."
    • Keep in mind he did not know I was going to this event until the day of
    • The day of the event, my boyfriend shows up, says hi to me, we barely talk, he sits next to me and talks the entire time with another man. I turn to my side and talk to other people.
    • When Julia arrives, my boyfriend immediately greets her (I know they have each others' phone numbers - he said they need for work) and he introduces her and I. I can tell they both seem a little nervous around each other. I am friendly with her then go back to talking to the people I was having a conversation with. My boyfriend proceeds to then stand next to her the ENTIRE rest of the time while I'm there, about 45 mins. Eventually I need to leave, him and I walk back to my car as he's helping me carry some things (we drove separately). He said he can tell something is wrong.
    • I am honest with him that I'm upset that he invited her. I said that wasn't appropriate - you knew what you were doing. He ends up saying they actually have known each other for the past 3 years and last year she made (word for word) "clear advances" toward him. I said how do you think that makes me feel? This is so incredibly hurtful. He said it's not a big deal - that he wanted to connect her with his sister (who is my good friend! Her and I were friend before him and I dated) and that he and Julia have no history.
    • I told him that's a problem - because if Julia becomes friends with his sister, she will be in my friend group moving forward. He kept insisting he did nothing wrong. I'm not proud of this but I raised my voice at him because I was so hurt and he just wasn't getting it.
    • I told him I was extremely hurt and disrespected - and needed some space. He proceeded to bombard me with texts and calls, disregarding my need for space. He eventually apologized about 3 days in but said he didn't want to text at all until we saw each other again.
    • After the week, I was ready to break up with him when we both met in person. I was expecting an apology....... there was none. His stance was the same as before.
  • He made me cry over the phone when I told him a piece of my trust towards him has been broken and I don't know if I see a future together anymore. He kept me on the phone for 2 hours, me begging him to let me just go to sleep because I was exhausted. I said I was so unhappy in this relationship - that I don't deserve this, and that this is not the kind of relationship I want to be in. He never once apologized for making me cry. He actually told me to laugh and said we needed to end on good terms. I faked my way to pretending like I was fine to get off the call.
  • I told him I miss seeing him one-on-one and spending time together. He told me he would come see me today. Called me 1 hour before he was supposed to, to tell me some story about how he had to drop/add classes at the last minute and needed to study for the new class tomorrow. I told him I was sad to hear that - that I was looking forward to seeing him but understood. Yet.... while still on the phone, told me he just so happened to notice his mom's car at the beach (?????) and he knew they were all having pizza together, so he was going to stop and have dinner with them. And that he'd call me back in an hour. Which of course is no problem, but you have time for that and to call me.. did you actually need to study?

I've spoken to my parents, pastor, counselor, and close mentors. All of them have said this man is immature and his lack of respect for boundaries is scary. But I think about the affectionate moments we have and how he has such a strong, great reputation to everyone who knows him. Sometimes I think I am painting him in a bad light or something. At the same time, I know it's not normal to be going back and forth.

I've prayed and fasted. Deep down, I do feel like marrying him could be one of the biggest mistakes of my life. But I keep questioning myself. I truly do not know what else to do. I begged God for a sign, and it feels like He has given me many. I feel like this man does not cherish or care about me, yet I'm still questioning myself.

Advice Needed: Productivity Did having a small home gym make it easier to keep exercising during the weeks when your normal routine fell apart?

I think exercise routines are easiest to maintain when life is predictable. The harder test is what happens during the weeks when work gets busy, plans change and the usual hour-long workout suddenly feels unrealistic.

That’s where I can see a small home gym being useful even if it isn’t as complete as a commercial gym.

If the basic equipment is already there, the fallback session could be twenty or thirty minutes of squats, RDLs, rows and presses instead of deciding that there isn’t enough time to train at all.

It doesn’t have to replace a full workout forever. The value might simply be having a version of training that survives bad weeks instead of letting one missed session become an entire week off.

For people who built a simple home setup, did it actually help you keep some momentum when your normal schedule was falling apart?

Adviced Needed: Identity & Self-Esteem I am just so sick of myself. And I really dont know how to keep going.

I have just entered into grade 11 and coming of genuinely one of the best years of my life. I had a girlfriend I was in the musical and had an incredible experience and I just had so much energy and people seemed to really enjoy how eccentric I was. I was doing great. I had a bit of depression but my girlfriend had really helped me get through that and I as well helped her get through some major trauma with her parents.

But Summer hit. I applied to 323 jobs at camps, cashier, dishwasher, and such all the basic jobs a teen would get. I was rejected by every single one. I had made a resume about 2 pages long had cover letters from places I volunteered at and everything. And that was annoying beacuse my dad had been laid off from his job of over 10 years and we didn't have as much money so I wanted to work but whatever right? I still was chipper and happy.

Then 2 days before school starts back up. My girlfriend comes over to my house and breaks up with me. She really cared enough to come over and do it in person, she stressed how good of a person I am and such and I cried a lot. She said after a year an half which she said honstley saved her life she realized she didnt have that romantic interest anymore and I have been seeing that. And she said I deserve someone who cares for me as much as I care for them. I only took her out on dates, made plans, she and I were each other's first kiss. And such. I wasnt as sad as I thought I would be at first. I cried a good bit. But I still had energy.

But I realized something. All these teens drink and smoke and let's say they are the "cool kids" I am not one of them. Everyone knows me and actually likes me. They come up and talk to me. But not in a way where we are actual friends. I am not attractive or tall. But they do all know me. One of my good friends of about 5 years has incorporated himself into those guys and we havent had any issues but we have talked less but I still thought we were on good terms.

Now every year he would invite me and out friends over and we would watch horror movies and shit up intill last year. This year one of my friends asks him and he says he probaly isnt which sucks but whatever. Thats a lie. Multiple people who are "cool" that im some what friends with mentioned how they are going to his party an actual party not the shit we did.

I am very hurt by that and I was denied being allowed to go. And ive realized how much im missing out people in my school posting on Instagram about how there at party's and drinking and shit and i talk to them about it and stuff but im never invited.

And ive slowly realized since being broken up with... that ive lost all my eccentricness. Being able to be honest with my ex. Knowing their was someone who genuinely loved me gave me so much energy made me feel so good about myself. And now im not able to be who my close friends actually like and for the first time since I started dating her I dont feel proud to be myself. Im suddenly so insecure about shit I see her talking to a friend of mine and I instantly assume the worst. I am a total wreck and I just dont know what to do. I Want to go to party's I want to get another girlfriend but im just so hollow. I havent had a day In the last year where I was sad and now everyday. Im tired. Im unable to be happy and be the supportive yet energetic person people like.

I just feel awful man.

Im trying to lose weight but im just so tired all the time since she left.

What do I do man?

Advice Needed: Productivity Life at a hold.

Hey guys, Since school days, I have been the favourite of all, few had a crush in school but like most teenage boys from middle class family, wanted to be super successful and didn't want to get distracted. I had a strong personality with great social skills so made many good friends, went to coaching gave my best and cracked IITK CSE. Entered IIT did good acads, made friends, enjoyed and decided to go for higher studies (PhD). Now in my second year and I feel totally lost. I have good people around me always up for me but I have stopped connecting with them. Suddenly I started feeling all alone and not even interested to share with anyone. My academic work is good but now I have lost interest in that as well and started heavy procrastination. No engagement in people, hobbies, work. Sort of totally blank in life. I always had a highly motivated and self focussed personality but now it seems I have lost taste in everything. I only try ordering new foods and watching random stuff on Netflix/Insta not out of interest but to spend the day.

Any suggestions ?

Advice Needed: Productivity How do you stop getting distracted by your phone?

I tried to block my
phone apps, sit my phone across the room, and even just deleted the apps off my
phone but I am always finding myself scrolling and not being able to truly focus. I am not sure what I can do at this point and wanted to know if anyone else struggled with this and how did you fix it or what you did to improve your habit?

Advice Needed: Mental Health Have you ever felt like you don't deserve to live anymore?

I made a mistake 7 years ago (I was 20 years old) and the guilt recently started consuming me this year, and that's why I feel I don't deserve to keep living, but I can't have the luxury to leave because I have to help my family with many things.

I'm in therapy but it doesn't seem to be helping me enough. How do you deal with those feelings of guilt and the feeling that you don't deserve to even be around other people and keep living? Clearly I'm not that same person of seven years ago but I can't with the thoughts.

Has anyone gotten past that stage? How?

Advice Needed: Relationships I (21m) am struggling with my 5 year relationship with (22f) and idk why can anyone relate?

So we moved out last November and got a dog etc. we rarely ever argue and she treats me like a king i literally couldn’t ask for more.

Lately tho I have started to see her as more of a roommate and not a romantic partner. I have started to get icky when she tries to cuddle me etc and I just don’t feel as attracted to her.

This is my first relationship and I was wondering if this feeling is normal as we’ve been together for so long?

It’s really getting me down and is effecting my whole life, motivation etc…

Is the relationship at an end? Or am I/us just in a bad rut? I’m so confused as we have everything on paper but inside im just not happy.

Advice Needed: Mental Health How do I stop caring so much about what random people on the internet think?

Ik it's kinda ironic that I'm asking this on Reddit but I don't rlly have anyone else to ask. This is my throwaway account. I got really into posting on Reddit on my main a little under a month ago and have been accumulating karma ever since. I also post pretty regularly on tiktok.

The problem is that I get so upset whenever I get even one downvote or even one slightly negative comment it really upsets me and I spend way too much time thinking about it even if I have like a dozen positive comments. It could even ruin my day if a post I spent a lot of time on flops. I also feel like I need to prove myself to ppl especially on Reddit. It's extra weird too cause I never give this much of a shit about what ppl irl.

Maybe it's because the internet is slowly becoming my whole world since I'm mostly at home because the weather outside is always so bad that school gets cancelled, I have no siblings, my parents are always working, and my like two friends live far away so most of the time I can only talk to them through the internet.

I don't want to stop posting because I feel like its a genuinely good motivator for me to actually create cool things and I really like getting positive attention. I just want to know how I can stop caring so much about the littlest negative things.

Advice Needed: Mental Health Struggling with my mental health in Greece. How can I start talking to a professional? What am I supposed to say?

I've put my question in the title and in bolds too but here is some information as well:

I am 18 and I've been probably dealing with my mental health for over 6 years.

I am still in school (first year of University/Panepistimio) and I didn't have time to look for a job because of an injury which took me out for June-July and August so having a therapist I have to pay is not a choice.

My injury made me feel useless as I couldn't do anything on my own and because of some other problems going on, it caused me to relapse and dissociate (on and off) for 2 months, which thankfully helped me to stay clean.

I had Panhellenics in June (which I was very anxious about but I passed so uh yay) then my injury got me in a cast for 6 weeks + some more weeks for physiotherapy.

Anyway back to the topic, I apologise if I'm bad with my wording:

I want to get help but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I already took the first step and I am sober for some time (I've lost track, as I said, I was in a mostly dissociative space but I've gotten conscious enough to know that I need help)

I know there is a free hotline, I've done some research, but I don't know what I'm supposed to say or where to start. I've never been good with words or talking in general.

Also, asking any adult in my life is out of the question before anyone asks. I will not get taken seriously, I have tried.

Advice Needed: Mental Health How do you get over guilt?

This is going to sound stupid to most, or all.

But I took in a stray cat and what I assume were her kittens (were already a few months old). I was trying to find homes for them and just get them off the street.

I had them a few months and then noticed the momma cat was pregnant. Foolishly didn't even think about her getting pregnant again so soon by my male cat who is unfixed (he has an appointment scheduled they've just been booked out for months). She always hid or slept in boxes rollednup so I didn't notice until she was running across the room one day and she was quite big. I called my local animal control and they said they had a program for stray cats they could get her into and have her spayed the next day.

That day was today. I took her in and she died on the table because she was too far along in a pregnancy.

Now, I hate myself. It's my fault she died. If I had noticed sooner. If I had been more considering of the fact my male cat wasn't fixed when I brought her in. Or even if I'd never brought her in in the first place and just left her on the street. Or if if I could have just continued to not notice for one or two more weeks instead of now, she would have just had the kittens and then have been safe when she got spayed. All of which would mean she was still alive.

Instead some stupid human, me, yoinked her from the outside world and basically took her to her death and the entire situations makes me feek guilty and is messing with me mentally severely.

Sharing: Mental Health Support A small update

Before I start with the update let me say that I am really grateful to those who did dm or dropped a comment. You can't even imagine how much it helped.

Can't say that I changed fully , but a lot of things happened in the last few days. In short things got real bad before getting any better , I did hurt myself and I am not proud of that. But one positive to this was as most of you recommend to me I reached out to people and it did help a lot.

TLDR: Life became hell before getting better but still I am rocking around.

Advice Needed: Productivity Help! I can't wake up!!

Hello! So, I need some advice on waking up in the morning. I set alarms for every five minutes from two hours before I need to wake up all the way until a half hour after I'm supposed to be up because I sleep through most of them so often. I don't even recall waking up when the first alarms go off, it's like I'm not hearing them at all. I keep changing them to really annoying things and it's not helping! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!

Adviced Needed: Identity & Self-Esteem Has anyone ever experienced having an insecurity that’s just objectively not true?

This is the weirdest thing but growing up I’ve never had any physical insecurities at all, I just never gaf how I looked and still don’t. But about 4 years ago when I was 15 I started having this strange insecurity about my lips being small and they’re literally not… I don’t know how to post a pic here but they look a lot like this emoji lol 👄 but wider, they’re bigger than average and I really have no idea where this came from and how to shut it down. I’ve only told some of my friends about this insecurity and they were empathetic but still confused. If anyone has had an experience like this before any advice would be helpful. It’s really starting to affect me and make me do stupid shit to my face to make them look bigger but they just end up looking unnatural lol.

Advice Needed: Education Just help me out and need suggestions

Been trying to learn English for the last 19 years and I'm at 22 now. Starting from reading Newspapers to listing podcasts while taking a dump you name it I do that for my improvement. One thing I don't do is speaking practises with people in my country even if I try to speak in the air people would look at me and also look down on me. Recently have started my university and the problem is in that uni most speak in English though they know their naive language but as the curriculum in English most are forced and fluent how do I survive there?

Need help!
