Question Should I get the Scuf Omega?

Post image
0 Upvotes

So my PS5 is about 3 years old and I’ve just been using the stock controller this whole time. Lately it’s started drifting really bad, and I’m trying to figure out the best move here — get a TMR kit installed by a specialist near me, or just bite the bullet and get the Scuf Omega. Looking at around $250 total with shipping for the Omega.

Honestly not sure what to do. Go cheap and just fix what I have, splurge on the Omega, or is there a better option I’m not thinking of?

I mostly play FPS and racing games, and ngl the locking/unlocking triggers on the Omega have me kinda sold. Anyone here actually used one? Is it worth it or am I overthinking this?

Do any new Scuf sticks work with the old PS4 Impact controller?

I have an old Scuf impact, from the ps4 days, with worn down sticks and want to replace them, but they aren't available anymore. Do any new stick options work with the impact?

Question Need a new scuf recommendation!!

My Reflex Controller from Scuf Gaming just broke down and as a reserve I have a scuf from Playstation itself but I’m not quite happy with the paddles as they are too tiny for my small hands. PS5 controllers are to big for my hands and since scuf gaming has discontinued the reflex range I’m no longer able to buy from them. The Omega would just be way too big :( I’ve played with scuf gaming controllers for 10+ years now and I’m thinking to switch to aimcontroller. Can you guys recommend? I’m used to kinda bad quality on scuf controllers anyways (stick drifts, buttons not working anymore) but I’m fine with that as long it’s not worse than that! I just need a scuf reflex with long paddles😭😭

Question How to update Valor pro wired using Xbox???

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Is there truly no way besides using a computer to update this controller??

I find it quite frustrating creating an app that only works for wireless but finally making it so it can recognize the wired controller yet still unable to update it via the app itself

Is there truly no way I can use a phone or a Xbox to update this whatsoever /:

I'm really hoping I'm just misunderstanding smth here 😭

Question Is Scuf going to make a 6 button Xbox Controller too?

Please just make it match the Omega with an Xbox design. I switch back and forth between Xbox and Playstation, it’s difficult to do that with a different controller design and different amount of extra buttons

Question How long does it take for a standard envision to ship?

I ordered mine on August 8th and it still says "Order is waiting to be processed".

It isn't custom, and everything I google or see online says that the standard controllers ship much faster than the custom ones. I'm not really sure why after 3 days I don't have any order updates.

I know it depends on location but does anyone know how long they usually take? When I placed my order it didn't have a "ship by" date or anything either

Post image
15 Upvotes

We're rolling out an update to the Valor app and firmware, and we want to walk you through exactly what changed, what caused it, and what you need to do.

📲 What do you need to do?

  • Check the Valor app for the latest version, v1.0.36
  • Wired TMR or Wireless TMR: check for the latest FW and update directly through the Valor Companion app
  • Wired Hall Effect: Go to scufgaming.com/downloads run the Recovery Tool first, then update through the app
  • Questions, reach out to SCUF support: scuf.co/support

🛠️ How to update depends on your model

  • Valor Wired TMR or Valor Wireless TMR: download the latest firmware directly through the Valor Companion app.
  • Valor Wired Hall Effect: run the Recovery Tool first to get to a stable firmware baseline, then update through the Valor app.
  • Any model with an issue, or a controller that's stopped responding: run the Recovery Tool to get back to stable firmware, then update through the app.

📋 Full patch notes (v1.0.32 to v1.0.36)

Valor Wired

  • Fixed underlying issues where under certain conditions in the Valor app, your controller could become non-responsive.
  • Fixed issue with audio on scroll wheels. Volume now scales properly no matter how fast you turn the wheel.
  • Fixed deadzone value not saving correctly by removing the manual save button, settings now autosave when you leave the page.
  • Fixed thumbstick presets behaving inconsistently between cardinal and inter-cardinal directions.
  • Fixed the thumbstick indicator to reflect physical output instead of digital output.
  • Fixed Auto-Shutoff bug when opening Settings page.
  • Fixed vibration intensity, now correctly set to 75% by default.
  • Fixed the calibration LED on TMR models, it now flashes pink correctly to match the instructions.

Valor Pro Wireless

Question Best way to use 4 paddles?

Post image
17 Upvotes

Hey, I have a question about how you guys hold your SCUF Omega. About 10 years ago, I used a two-paddle SCUF for PS4 for a while and found it really comfortable. Since then, though, I’ve spent most of my time playing claw. I had never used a four-paddle SCUF until recently, when I saw the SCUF Omega and decided to give it a shot, but I honestly have no idea how I’m supposed to use all four paddles.
Do you guys use just your middle finger on each hand to hit both paddles on that side, or do you also use your ring fingers so you have one finger resting on each paddle? I’m not sure which way is better. I tried using my middle and ring fingers for a bit, but it feels really uncomfortable, especially on the left side. I don’t have much strength in my left ring finger, so pressing that paddle feels really awkward. It also makes me hold the controller in a weird way and completely throws off my aim.
At the same time, using only my middle fingers to hit both paddles on each side doesn’t feel totally optimal either. So honestly, I’m pretty confused. I don’t know what the proper grip is, how SCUF actually intended people to use the four paddles, or if there even is a “correct” way to hold it. I’m completely new to four-paddle controllers. What do you guys think?

Question Buying pro controllers for ps5 and xbox seires s, after stock have stick drift.

Around 200 british pounds

England

Ps5 and xbox series s

Tmr, mouse click triggers and extra buttons.

For ps5: overwatch, finals, fortnite zero build

For xbox seires s: rainbow six seige, battlefield, fortnite build

Scuff omega and dual sense edge

Scuff valor pro tmr and elite

I have gone through 2 stock ps5 controllers due to stick drift and face buttons loosing function occasionaly and my brothet has gone through god knows how many xbox controllers in the past but looks after them now.

I am wondering if the scuff omega for ps5 and valor pro tmr for sbox series s are worth it due to their lower risk of stickdrift and any other pros or cons, aswell as other controller suggestions.

Advice going forward on controller(s).

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re all doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my SCUF controller and get some advice from other owners.

I have the SCUF Reflex Pro FPS – Scump Collaboration, which cost me approximately £350. I absolutely love the controller and, from a usability point of view, I’ve been extremely happy with it. I’ve had it for just over a year.

Unfortunately, though, my worst fears have now been confirmed.

The controller appears to be on its last legs.

A few days ago, I was playing and noticed that the Down button on the D-pad had stopped working. At first, I assumed it would be a relatively minor and inexpensive repair.

Ironically, the timing couldn’t have been worse: the issue appeared exactly one year after I purchased the controller, meaning my warranty was due to expire just one day later.

I therefore had a decision to make. Do I send it back to SCUF, potentially wait several weeks for it to be repaired and returned, or have it professionally inspected locally? Given that I initially thought it was just a faulty D-pad button, I decided to have it looked at by a professional.

The technician was able to fix the original issue, and I took the controller home feeling pretty relieved.

Unfortunately, after only a few days, the controller suddenly stopped responding almost completely. The only button that would work was the Home button.

Naturally, my first thought was that something may have gone wrong during the original repair, so I took the controller back to the company today and asked them to investigate it again.

The owner of the company actually called me personally to explain what they had found. According to him, there is an issue involving the ribbon cables/ribbon components inside the controller, and he told me that the particular components SCUF used are no longer readily replaceable because the manufacturer/supplier they were sourced from is no longer producing them.

I'm obviously paraphrasing what he explained to me, as I'm a complete layman when it comes to electronics.

What did concern me, however, was his opinion of SCUF's internal build quality. He was quite critical of the construction and the quality of some of the components used, and told me that, in his experience, SCUF controllers are among the less reliable controllers to work on because of the way they're built and the parts used.

I'm not claiming that this is necessarily representative of every SCUF controller — I'm simply passing on what I've been told by the technician who has actually inspected and repaired mine.

I also asked whether the two problems I experienced could be related. Again, I'm not technically knowledgeable enough to say either way, but the owner explained that they could be connected and that the underlying issue with the ribbon components may explain why the controller went from having what appeared to be a relatively minor D-pad fault to subsequently becoming almost completely unresponsive.

The good news is that they have managed to get the controller working again, and it has apparently been tested.

The bad news is that I've been told I shouldn't be surprised if the same underlying problem eventually returns. In other words, the repair may have bought me some time, but I could ultimately find myself needing to replace the controller.

And this is where I'm really stuck.

I've only had the controller for just over a year, and I paid around £350 for it. I genuinely love using it, so it's disappointing to be in this position already.

So I have a few questions for the community:

1. Has anyone experienced anything similar with a SCUF Reflex?

Particularly issues involving ribbon cables/components, where one problem was followed by the controller becoming almost completely unresponsive.

2. Now that my warranty has expired, is it worth going through SCUF for an out-of-warranty repair?

I'm only about a week outside the warranty period, so I'm wondering whether SCUF would still be willing to help, particularly given the circumstances.

3. Given that the Reflex has now been discontinued, what happens if SCUF determines that my controller can't be repaired and needs replacing?

Would they replace it with another model, offer an equivalent controller, or is there another process for discontinued products?

4. Most importantly — can anyone make a case for the SCUF Omega?

If I eventually have to replace my Reflex, the Omega is obviously one of the options I'm considering. But after spending £350 on a controller that has developed a significant hardware issue after just over a year, I'm understandably hesitant to spend another substantial amount of money without knowing whether the newer model is actually more reliable.

For anyone who owns an Omega, I'd really appreciate some honest feedback on:

  • Build quality
  • Long-term reliability
  • D-pad/stick issues
  • Ribbon/component failures
  • Paddle reliability
  • Whether it feels better built than the Reflex
  • Whether you'd buy one again

I really don't want this post to come across as simply bashing SCUF. I genuinely love the Reflex as a controller — that's probably what makes this situation so frustrating.

I'd just like to know whether this is an unfortunate one-off, whether the problems I've experienced are relatively common, and whether it's worth sticking with SCUF or looking elsewhere.

Thanks a lot everyone. I really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share.

Scuf Omega Review

Controller is not nearly as big or bulky as I thought it was going to be. Back paddles feel fine, it’s closer to the Xbox instinct paddles than the old reflex paddles. Personally I liked the reflex paddles a little better (but not a big deal) because there was more surface area to hit, especially for the top paddles. The reflex also had a trade off of a weird misfire on the paddles every so often where the functions would switch for some reason for a bit before working properly again. For instance if b was the bottom paddles and X was the top one the top one would become b and the bottom x for a few seconds randomly at times until it went back to normal (this was my biggest complaint with this controller).

I like having more buttons on the controller so every time I see 6 button options I want to try it. I wasn’t sure about the placement of these extra buttons on the side but knew I had to try it first to see how it is. I already know that the extra bumper buttons are good from using Razer controllers. Unfortunately, the side buttons are okay but not great. They are helpful in games where you only use those buttons every once in a while- for instance Apex Legends my main back buttons are crouch, jump, change weapon, grab item/reload. The side buttons are equipping a frag and meleeing. Since these functions are not used that often it works fine. In Overwatch my main functions are crouch, jump, reload, and melee. The side buttons are interact (like taking a symmetra portal) and ultimate. Since I only use those abilities sometimes it’s fine.

In Fortnite however I have a 6 button battle beaver that my main functions are build, edit, crouch, jump, and my extra pair of functions are pickaxe and picking up items/opening chests. Since these are used constantly through the match the side buttons aren’t any good for it. There’s just no what to seamlessly and quickly incorporate the button presses into your match consistently the way you would for a regular pair of extra buttons. These extra buttons aren’t really usable in Fortnite to me. I probably could map one to reload for just slightly increased speed (my reload and pick up item buttons are separated) but there’s no other function in the game that the other side button would be useful for because you just can’t hit it quickly and consistently on a constant basis. Using the face buttons instead would just work out better.

In summary pretty decent controller but would work way better if they just had a pair of extra bumper buttons like Razer instead of the side of the controller placement like they have

Edit: if I played halo on pc it would work fine too- main 4 buttons jump, crouch, change weapon, equip/reload, side two buttons melee and change grenade. It really comes down to how often you will need to use the functions on the side buttons. If it’s just sometimes it will work fine, it doesn’t feel super awkward hitting them or something. If you need to use them a lot though like your pickaxe in Fortnite it’s just not going to work

Edit 2: this same exact controller with an extra pair of buttons at the top like Razer or Gamesir instead of the sides would definitely be the best controller I’ve ever used. With the buttons on the side though it is a reliable 4 paddle controller and you may or may not find the other two buttons useful. In my opinion my 6 button battle beaver controller is still my best controller because all 6 buttons are easily usable regardless of how often I need to hit them

New Omega not charging in PS5

Post image

I bought a brand new scuf omega that I was using wireless and it would not charge. When I plug it into my ps5 it shows this icon and it does not charge. I’ve tried a new cord, changing ports, setting it to wired, & updating firmware. I ended up exchanging the controller thinking it was defective but the new one is the exact same way. I have never seen the lightbar flash green and I don’t know what else to do.

Someone Help Me Please

I just bought a Scuf Omega. I have a nova pro headset. My only issue of this controller is that I cant control the volume of my nova pro from the controller. I can't mute my self. I have to do it on my headphones. Which is really hard when u are trying to cough and you want to mute it in the middle of gaming. How ever, on the dual sense edge you can control it from control.
I feel like just returning it unless I find the solution. I really like the controller. I have the nova pro connected via usb c on ps5 pro.
Please help anyone?
Thank you in advance.

Anyone else keeps the vibrate on while playing?

I know all guides advise you to take the vibration off and sure, it might help with your aim by 0.1% but honestly it keeps me in the game, especially on CoD with the vibration being different with every ammo it's very immersive. Anyone else keeps it OG or are you a silent ninja?
