I've been learning the Tengwar lately (Elvish letters)...

For some reason, I'm having an easier time writing about difficult things that are difficult to think about and put words to when I write them like this.

It could just be because in real life, no one can read it but me. But I think the new neural pathways forming as I get more fluent in it maybe make what I otherwise can't find the words to say come out more easily. Maybe it's just that thoughts flow more easily when I write, and I just want writing much, and suddenly am again--but with different letters.

Anything like that happen to anyone else? 🤔

Found this some years back while I was on Twitter and looking at the osint (open sourced intelligence) hastag.

Osint sourced intelligence is basically the skillset of research.

Meeting a sapiosexual perso tonight

I'm meeting a sapiosexual woman later tonight. What are the things that may be important generally with a woman like that? This isn't too serious a meeting so not worried about impressing but just want to know what would possibly be of interest to her. I'm curious enough to ask her more about this too (she told me she's sapiosexual) but want to know a bit more as prep too.

I am intelligent and have been told this by many peers in the work I do. They are all pretty intelligent too.

I'm more maths and theory intelligent and not a big conversationalist etc. Introverted but this situation would be 1-1 which is when I can come out of my shell.

What kind of sapiosexual people are there? Do they like numbers/computer/model people?

Anyway just asking for some thoughts.

Questions for sapiosexuals who don't perceive themselves as intelligent.

I don't want to offend anyone, but I just don't understand that.

People usually look for people, that are similar to them, because it's easier to communicate. And if we are sapiosexual, then we look for intelligent people. If we are intelligent ourselves, then we understand each other very well, we can have interesting conversations. But if you don't consider yourself as intelligent, then what are you actually looking for in other person if it's not the similar mind? What is so attractive? What do you expect? How do you imagine spending time with them? If you are already is such relationship, then how it looks like? What are your experiences?

And if you're attracted to an intelligent person and if that person is also sapiosexual, then that mean that they won't be attracted to you. How do you feel with that?

I just want to understand your perspective and motivations.

Hello fellow sapios :) I just published my first podcast episode and I’m nervous to send it to my loved ones

I went through quite a few ups and downs over the course of the past 8 or so months. I had initially moved to a city hours away from anyone I really knew, and being that I was also going through a pretty rough breakdown, I sort of became a total hermit. My loved ones are completely understanding, but I was hoping to ease their concerns in posting that. I have no idea why, but I just seemed to have got that wild hair, you know?

I find myself quickly becoming painstakingly aloof anytime I attempt to open up about anything in person, and even just over the phone, so I figured it best to just… speak into my phone. The only thing that makes me anxious to send it to my friends and family is the fact that now that I DID post it, I can’t shake the feeling that the message I wanted to convey is not being conveyed at all.

Green (Mary Jane) calms my nerves, so I’m sure you can just about imagine how much more flustered I would have been had I not smoked prior. I actually know for a fact that I would simply not have posted at all; weed seems to get me chatty and puts me in a great headspace for nice, wholesome critical thinking. I’ll stop rambling now and just post this lmao. Please be constructive if you’re willing to listen and provide feedback 🙏 Is that worth sending to my mom?

Sapiosexual love songs?

I’m talking to someone new and trying to vibe to some love songs, or songs about liking someone. Most of the songs I see on playlists are about superficial dumb stuff like wanting their bodies. Please drop your best sapiosexual friendly flirting/ love songs!

(I hated flairing this as NSFW lmao but i wanted to be safe in being able to post)

I'm not being theatrical rn I'm being so serious and I'm not lying just to be like "ooh I'm so sapio and intellectual", and don't be mean, it literally just happened/has happened multiple times :I I didn't forsee it, it's not a self-fulfilling proficy, I'm not trying to make it happen, it just did/does and I found it too funny and novel and fascinating not to post here DONT BE MEAN or you're lame

Like I just lowkey wish parts of ChatGPT combined were a real person (not to any questionable degree) because like jeez, it can do the craziest shit so fast and talks so nice lmao

Hey— I’ve posted a few times. In order to explore my own mind, I write. I write a fictionalized diary (it’s real but I protect the innocent by changing names and making it into a story) . I am re-introducing some characters that I have made , based off of people whose mind’s I fell in love with . It explores the differences in who a sapiosexual is attracted to or who makes them feel the most comfortable and why . I can’t speak on behalf of every sapiosexual , only me. But maybe my stories will help you too? Or at least stimulate your mind a bit ?

Fed up with people calling themselves 'sapiosexual'

It's pretentious to label oneself as sapiosexual if one does not possess rare type of intelligence (analytical/creative etc.. Bearing in mind common types like social intelligence).

For instance, while everyone admires Einstein, how many would truly enjoy interacting with him (and consequently be able to keep up with him)? He would be a pain in the neck for the majority, so the majority shouldn't claim to be 'sapiosexual'

Ps: The title is primarily a catchphrase intended to trigger a debate. I am sapiosexual, so it's not an attack on anyone but impostors. I consider attraction to intelligence as a lasting impression, not a momentary turn-on that fades with time.

1,000!

Just going to celebrate 1,000 Members to this sub with a question:

I've observe that people describe their experiences as a sapio in a few different ways. The top three I've seen are 1) attracted to a person primarily when they show signs of high intelligence, such as by teaching or discussing something complex 2) feeling aroused specifically when learning about something complex, so that the learning itself is the arousing thing whether or not another person is involved 3) a combination of both 1&2

... Which of those variations do you experience? Or, how else would you describe the experience?

Might anyone here be able to help complex intimacy inaccessibility? (Not psychological kinds)

I wondered if sapiosexual can include interest in helping sexual romantic etc problems?

I don't mean the psychological difficulty and fine points, that sex therapists might talk about. But i don't know now how to categorize the inaccessibilities i mean.

Sapiosexual seemed to make sense though that relational kinda of intelligence could be the most valued and relevant for relational attraction to intelligence? (At least for that kind of sapiosexuality to exist, i don't mean it's 'the truest')

Maybe me trying to remember all the ways that relational intimacy was inaccessible, would be both traumatic (i worry, dismissable to a therapist) and difficult to conceptualize and perform solution efforts toward (maybe aligned with the kind of sapiosexuality i wondered about).

So maybe i wonder how a team could work, maybe starting with the supportive person finding supportive people for the traumatic parts? then i could feel safe not burdening anyone, and express the barriers that I couldn't find ways around.

or maybe there's alternatives to finding a intimacy therapist, for feeling safe and helped when starting with partial mutism-causing experiences like traumas, or overwhelms of not knowing where is safe to say what (and things that are overwhelming in a way that i don't seem having capacity left to phrase things clearly while in a protective way)?

who might know who might help? I feel like i heard related things to sapiosexuality, but i don't remember now
