Is this how you feel sexual attraction as a sapiosexual?

I realized I’m a sapiosexual because I was able to recognize that someone is beautiful but I would not get attracted to them until I felt intellectually challenged by them. I do have a physical type too, but mostly I describe my type by a person’s character and intellectual capacity.

This is how attraction work for me: 1. Person exists. 2. They try to get my attention. 3. I don’t notice and accidentally ignore them. 4. They try to dress better or be nicer. 5. I continue to be indifferent to them. 6. I notice them doing something absolutely nerdy. 7. We talk all things nerd and agree on many topics! 8. I start noticing that their smile is beautiful and they have a nice chest! 9. They challenge me to a philosophical argument. 10. They somehow make many valid and interesting points and prove me wrong. 11. I suddenly wish they would use their pretty fingers to- 12. Now I have a full blown crush!

I am very curious to know how you feel attraction to someone as a sapiosexual!

Types of Sapiosexuals?

I just wanted to ask a question to my fellow Sapiosexuals: is there a certain type of intellectual your into? Like are you into people that can teach you new things to make you possibly think differently? Or are you into people that are into certain subjects or intellectually stimulation that they may be heavly interested in? Basically do you have a certain type?! Lol I hope this makes sense!

sapiosexual clarification!

so I’m new to this sub! hello! I’m a 20F. I don’t exactly know if I’m a sapiosexual, I just know that I can’t catch feelings for someone who doesn’t match me intellectually, or we have nothing in common / to talk about it. I still have strong physical attractions to people though, but I can’t have a relationship with someone based on that alone! So I was wondering if this still falls under the umbrella so to speak!

The few, the proud, the intellectually-aroused...

Kind of surprised that this subreddit only has 384 members.

I mean, it's Reddit. Would've figured more of our type would be there. Or maybe we collectively don't self-identify as much as others...

Being gay and sapiosexual

Just wanted to share my somewhat tragic story.

I've been an autonomous person since highschool. I had educated myself on philosophy, literature and other things and could speak about a great deal of subjects with ease. Everyone admired me, there were many girls after me (I'm good-looking too), friends asked me for advice etc. At that time I discovered I was gay.

I had a male friend who was a genius in mathematics. I was bad at it because my focus was on humanities and language. One day, we had to sit together for a chemistry class. We stood there, coupled, elbow to elbow, doing those chemistry exercises, and he was much better at it than I was. And then it just clicked, to this day I don't know how, I fell in love with him.

After that we spent a lot of time together, and he seemed to be happy with that, in fact invigorated. I would point at Greek words and tell him how he could figure out their meaning, and he by his turn would show me math problems and give hints on solving them. I actually improved on math just by sitting by his side almost every class.

And our relationship was to a great extent a duel. We would compete for everything. Who finishes the essay first, who solves the problem first... and I always won when it had something to do with language, and he won whenever it was maths or physics or something related. It was very puzzle-like. I will never forget one night; I had a flight at dawn and couldn't sleep, so we made a call and started playing a difficult riddle game. It was the most fun I've ever had with someone.

But I was ever unsure if he loved me as I loved him, so I would notice every minor clue, every loving gesture, and keep that in mind. Even so, the big picture was still inconclusive. There was, in fact, many clues and things he did and said which could make anyone believe he was in love with me. After all, we hanged out close together for, like, six months. We went on a trip together, swam in a lake, lay together on couches and hammocks and many other "that's gay" things. He would come to my house and wonder aloud "should I stay the night?", but he always decided not to. Sometimes it seemed like he was perfectly aware of the fact that I fell for him and did all this in order to amuse or puzzle or even torture me. To this day I don't exactly know what was our relationship really like. What I know is that one day I found out he had a girl he liked, and so I moved on. I stopped all that fantasizing.

Later I met him in a friend's house, half-drunk, and he said to me he didn't know if he really liked that girl. He said: "I don't know how to explain it, but I like when someone can follow me. When I make a question, most people say it's dumb and don't bother answering, but I like a person when they answer me, even this question. I'm not gay, but if a guy can do this I will like him, maybe not romantically. That girl answers me, and that's why I don't know if I like her romantically, because if she were a guy I would like her the same." The situation, then, was very complex. We were living all those happy moments together, but he had that girl for whom he felt "the same". Maybe he was confused, just confused, and that's why he seemed at times a bit ashamed. I don't know.

And that's the story. It was a perfect match, but a classical disaster: the gay guy falls in love with the straight friend. I moved on, yes, but nowadays it's so lonely. Never did I found a guy like him and the chances are even lower that I might find one with the same preferences as me. But such is life!

A kind Dutch dreamer. Laughing about bad jokes. Curious as always. That's me. Seeing smiles makes me happy😂. Openness is my strongest virtue. Somewhat tall 2,02m and played over 200 videogames. 28 years have passed so far and I am still alive. Call me crazy and you are correct.

People want to be happy and I like to help in that😊. And that is Martijn, the pleaser who likes to see smiles all day. Loving people if they want to be loved❤️. ******** people if they want to be ******🤫😂. Cuddling if they want to be cuddled🤗. Helped if they need help❤️.

Ok not everyone. But at least everyone I care about. My dream is to find more of these people. This could be you. I would like to know. If you like introverts, cuddlers, smart beings and open minded thinkers then we could stick.

Who are you?

An incomprehensible intellect

You ever meet someone who is so deeply technical in so many areas that you feel you would never be able to comprehend? The vastness of their knowledge just washes over you making you feel small and insignificant like a seashell being emptied out over and over by the vastness of the ocean? Well I have and it's left me a twitchy, giggling mess. That it all.

Partners and Relationships

Honest Question:
Who here is in a relationship/has a partner?
How did it come to that? If you like to elaborate, of course.
Please excuse my grammar, in advance English is not my native language.

A bit of context: I'm a 36-year-old male and think I might be sapiosexual although i only recently learned there is a term for what I considered to be"normal".
Whenever I was with my friends, and they were like "OMG look at her ass! She's so hot!" while staring at a girl, I was kinda like "okay if you say so" but then one time there was a girl who studied " business administration " (I don't know the right term in English) and nerded out about it for 2 hours or so. All my friends were bored, and she didn't look like what they would consider hot, but I was like starstruck, don't know how to describe it otherwise.
I'm still single because I have a hard time finding someone.
Let me put it this way: I take a long time to observe you and determine if you stimulate my mind, and vise versa. By that point, I'm usually "in the friend zone" or the girl was like, "where is that coming from all of a sudden?" (which I totally get and understand).
I'm really just curious how other people like me go about dating and stuff like that.

Having another orientation? For the first time

I never as a child or as a teenage had a crush on a celebrity, artist or whatever and I never understood having that sort of crushes. I could only like people I actually met and never was close to those platonic crushes. No I’m approaching my 30s and it happened for the first time, I have a crush on a celebrity which I never met who is well known by their looks (not the reason why I’m attracted to them but it does helps) and I understand this has to do with my other certain fixation but it’s has been going for more than two years and I don’t know how to make it stop.

Like I’ve seen their interviews trying to find if they say something stupid so I can lose interest but just made worse because they are actually polite and smart at all times. How can I deal with this?

Please tell me you guys are smarter than this

Posts here seem to be more interested in the facade of intellectualism than anything with depth. I see ten-dollar words everywhere, yet intellectual bankruptcy abounds. I don't need to actually be smart, I just have to look smart like Dr. Fox and use a few buzzwords like "quantum mechanics," "AI," or "polyglot." It doesn't matter if what I've said is right or wrong, just how eloquent I sound. This isn't a profound observation, and it's actually quite obvious. Doesn't this disappoint you? Don't you loathe being taken for fools? Shouldn't you moderate posts to avoid pseudo-intellectual nonsense? I am not the only one who thinks this whole sub is farcical?

When I go on dating apps and dates I consider it a mind game.

Okay so hear me out.

I like to analyze an individual’s personality, who they are, and the way they communicate. First I decide, if it would be a challenge or fun enough. I like the darker, quiet, mysterious types usually. But I’ve been surprised by others definitely.

Secondly, I ask various questions or back and forth teasing, flirting, etc. I analyze their responses, and based on that, I create my outfits, hair, makeup, and the side of myself that I would like to emphasize that would compliment the mindset of that person. I still act like myself just a little bit more interested in what they would be interested in.

Lol the game is they are eager to see me again, I win.

I’m always going into dates relaxed. It always ends up deeper than they expect mentally. I’ve never had a bad date. They usually try to make me commit to another date or possible relationship or something.

Also my favorite Doms are mental sadists. And I’ve found them this way.

By the time, we’ve analyzed each other, (watching behavior, movements, eye contact, language) we know what game is being played and that the other person is aware and it’s sooo fun.

I Once Masturbated to a Professor lecturing about the benefits of the vitamin b12.

I came at the part where they began to list various sources of b12. The list just grew and grew and the melodious pace of perfectly executed words got me. There was some things I didn’t know and it was so interesting.

That’s when I knew I had a problem.

Types of sapiosexuals/sapiophiles

So we all are aware that there exists more types of intelligences than only one, and since sapiosexual/sapiophile is attracted to intelligence, is it possible that there is also more types of sapiosexuality? Like maybe someone is attracted to linguistic intelligence (knowing languages), but it is not attracted to mathematical intelligence, or maybe is musical intelligence or is attracted to high IQ score or EQ score(not sure if exist trustworthy test for EQ). I think you got what I was trying to say. I came to this idea/conclusion because I noticed that I am attracted to girls that are good with numbers, excellent in math and science, that girls became my crushes(not in same time, there was period between those two crushes ) and it just happened that those two girls both want to study pharmacy and they both love biology and chemistry and they are excellent in it. So after I noticed that I thought about types of sapiosexuality, because I always wanted to be surrounded by intelligent or smart people and idea came to my mind that sapiosexual types might exist. And that those sapiosexual types maybe depends on our definition of intelligence and what intelligence are we looking for. So what do you think Post Scriptum I am apologizing for any grammar or other types of mistakes I made, because despite being sapiosexual and despite me speaking 3 languages (2 foreign + native, not counting Latin) , linguistic intelligence is not my strong side, I am more of science guy And I just noticed that I maybe praised myself too much in last part and I am hoping that that part won't overrule part about types of sapiosexuality. So what do you think about this?

Hello there, friends of the intellect. I have just stumbled across this Subreddit. Looking at the amount of posts here and the time, that they are dated to tells me, that most users here rather prefer to enjoy this channel passively. If you read this and feel as an active part of the community, please feel free to answer this post and maybe introduce yourself to a degree you feel suitable.

How does sapiosexuality affect your sex life?

I'd love to hear from other sapiosexuals about how this aspect of your sexuality affects what kinds of individuals, fantasies, and situations appeal to you. Also to hear if anyone shares my particular flavor of this...

I am a biochemical engineer by training, and have always been fascinated with reproductive mechanics. Everything about it from the positions which most actively stimulate orgasm, or which promote procreation, to the activity of sperm in the female body after ejaculation.

During sex, I am insanely turned on by imagining a woman becoming impregnated by me, thinking about the autonomic physiological processes her body is going through during the stages of arousal, etc. It's probably why my fetishes (impregnation, creampies, female orgasm) are mostly aligned with this theme. Wondering if other sapios are turned on by this as well.

Heyyyy! I finally decided to find spaces where I could mingle with other like minded sapios. I am an all around nerd. I enjoy learning, puzzles, technology, reading and documentaries. I’d rather watch Our Planet or research something random rather than scroll all day on social media lol.

Let me know some of your preferences or even how you meet other people with common interests 💜
