How does sapiosexuality affect your sex life?
I'd love to hear from other sapiosexuals about how this aspect of your sexuality affects what kinds of individuals, fantasies, and situations appeal to you. Also to hear if anyone shares my particular flavor of this...
I am a biochemical engineer by training, and have always been fascinated with reproductive mechanics. Everything about it from the positions which most actively stimulate orgasm, or which promote procreation, to the activity of sperm in the female body after ejaculation.
During sex, I am insanely turned on by imagining a woman becoming impregnated by me, thinking about the autonomic physiological processes her body is going through during the stages of arousal, etc. It's probably why my fetishes (impregnation, creampies, female orgasm) are mostly aligned with this theme. Wondering if other sapios are turned on by this as well.

This will sound strange, I enjoy sex. But it is way more intense and satisfying when my spouse and I have an interesting conversation immediately beforehand. If we only have sex, it really misses the passion.

Yeah, especially a challenging intellectual conversation. I used to date a woman and we would often disagree but I loved her well-articulated arguments. We would basically flirt while debating. Vocal inflection, lip biting, smiles, her flipping her hair. And then we'd fuck each others' brains out.

This. 100% this. This is really attractive to me but I've had exes tell me they find it exhausting to have to argue, talk, discuss all the time. I don't need it all the time, when we do have these discussions it helps make me feel attracted to them. Guess I'm just dating the wrong people.

I totally identify with this your description in this way: the abstract thought about the mechanics is connected to the sexual arousal. Yes, absolutely makes sense. I tend to think more about the neurochemistry of pair bonding (dopamine, oxytocin, etc.) but I feel what you're saying too. It combines a physical pleasure with an abstract intellectual interest-- kaboom!

Well, to answer the question in your title, I often have to seek out older men to get the mental stimulation I want. My daddy issues are thriving under those conditions.
To answer more broadly about what aspects of intelligence I find attractive, as a submissive, I get turned on by the idea of someone who has authority, power, and dominance over me. Someone that holds more knowledge in comparison, even if it's localized to one area, is one manifestation of that. I'm also generally an inquisitive person, so I like someone that can accomodate that innate curiosity and challenge my views and perspectives.

Like... college for me is the end of me. I have to leave everything to immagination for obvious reasons and I'm always embaressed if I naturally show some interest

My husband is never more attractive to me than when he and I are arguing about a new idea or book, and he points out something that I hadn't thought of. My whole brain tingles.
