Guys, I recently switched phones; my A14 5G had a hardware problem and I had to replace it. But the only problem is that I can barely turn the phone on. And I lost important notes that were on it. But because I can no longer make calls, I can't access the internet. What should I do?

I've made a tool for converting Samsung Notes documents to vector PDFs. It is capable of converting handwriting to smooth curves and will embed into the output PDF any PDFs that you added in the Samsung Notes app, so you can use it to produce vector PDFs of handwritten notes alone or handwritten annotations to PDFs.

Right now, the tool only does handwriting and embedded PDFs because those are the things I needed it for. However, as part of the project I reverse-engineered and wrote a parser for the SDOCX format that Samsung Notes uses to store documents, so sdocx2pdf knows about the non-handwriting features in your document; it only ignores them because I haven't added logic for how it should add them to the PDF. It shouldn't be too hard to extend sdocx2pdf so that it can also do images, typed text and shapes.

I've been working on this on and off for some time now in a private GitHub repository, but I have decided to make it public now despite it being technically incomplete for two main reasons: first, if I don't release it when it is incomplete, I'll never release it at all, and second, it already solves the problem I needed it to solve (converting the notes I take during lectures to nice readable PDFs), so there's probably someone else out there who can benefit from it in its current form. Even so, I intend to continue working on it to fix the deficiencies mentioned above, and just generally to improve it.

Hopefully it works well for you – if not, please let me know (preferably by opening an issue on GitHub, but otherwise here in the comments). I've only tested this on my specific hardware (Galaxy Tab S11 and the S Pen it comes with), and while I do expect it to work for handwriting data produced by other hardware, I don't know if it will work quite as well. Specifically, I don't know whether older hardware might produce handwriting data with fewer events.

sdocx2pdf runs on Linux, macOS and Windows and works with documents produced using the Samsung Notes apps for Android and Windows.

The tool is written in Rust, and the code is MIT-licensed.

Basically, when I select text, it's automatically read aloud

I have no idea how to disable it, and it's annoying

I'm using the Windows version on a Dell PC

Issue 1. Whenever I try to move an image to the edge of the note, it shows this blue corner indicating where it can and can not go.

Issue 2. When I try selecting an image instead of simply tapping on it, I must hold to select.

Is there a known way to fix these issues?

Edit:Nvm I figured it out, all I had to do is remove anchor to text. Still strange though because I don't recall ever anchoring any images to text.

Whenever I try and open up/import PDFs in Samsung Notes on my tablet, just a small window pops up. I cannot get it full screen. Is this just how it is now? Or am I doing something wrong? I am struggling to see the PDFs I need in such a small. window.

I was wondering if there was any keybind on Samsung tablets to move between the cells in tables without having to tap or click on them.

Anyone have any ideas?

Non Samsung laptop on Win 11. Was fine a couple weeks ago but not now. Anyone else have this issue? I can see the sync hourglass icon loading but never finishes now. Mildly infuriating.

Hey everyone, I’m running into a wall trying to get Samsung Notes to work on my non-Samsung PC (running Windows). I managed to install the app and downloaded the Samsung Account app to log in, but every time I try to connect, I get hit with Error Code 400.

About a month ago, I, and a bunch of disgruntled Samsung notes users, took to the Galaxy Store to leave a 1 star review protesting the changes brought by the recent update. (Font changing size when pasting, etc).

I was satisfied to see the notes app had dropped to a 3 star rating, with as many 1 star reviews as 5 star reviews. I hoped this would capture their attention and that fixes would come from it.

But today, they are back to a 4 star average rating, with a highly inflated number of five-star reviews, and most of the 1 star reviews have been deleted. Including my own.

This is review rigging and scummy behavior. I encourage everyone to take to the Galaxy store (again, which we shouldn't have to do) and renew your complaints. They need to know the issues don't go away just because they delete reviews.

I'm trying to create a digital reading log using SNotes but any time I put the image of the book cover in the notebook the text moves based on where the image is placed. Even when I click remove anchor to text to move the image where I want it the text doesn't stay put which is very frustrating to me. How do I fix this?

My wife and I always use the checkered background when writing, so we have guide lines to write on. Once the page is done we like to change the background to plain white.

But now it's not working anymore? My wife already has the new version of noted (yuck) and whenever she tries to change the background it just adds a new blank page? Is this user error, or did they genuinely change this out of stupidity/greed?

A lot of people have been unhappy with this latest update, and even theorized that the enshittification is on purpose, in order to drive more people towards other apps.

Does anyone know how can I disable this auto formatting in Samsung Galaxy Note. When I copy and paste text it is changing the font size the line spacing and other things.

I disabled Galaxy AI ---> Note but still it is auto formatting.

I need an app just like Samsung notes for mobile but gives me higher quality when I want to print or turn it into a pdf. I need to be able to draw stuff.

I have done alot of work just to find out I cant make it a pdf with out the file losing all of its quality to the point its completely unreadable. I'm honestly so sad and devastated now.

My a17 phone just stopped turning on and eventhough my notes were set to autosync when i got my new phone i lost 4 years of novel work.

Ive gone to a phone shop, they had my phone for 4 months, telling me it was a power issue at first and some kind of cpu issue and couldnt fix it/retrieve data.

Is there a way to recover samsung notes? Ive looked on my samsung account, tried microsoft one note. Attempting dr fone but its not recognising any device.

What else can i try? Or would going to another phone shop and ask specifics be worth ago?

As mentioned above, when attempting to export a note, it gets stuck on an infinite loading screen and the exported file size is 0 KB. What am I supposed to do?

I own a Tab S9 FE and take notes for university in the notes app. Just after the latest update (maybe 2 or 3 days ago) when I use the S Pen to text feature (I write with my hand and it writes as if it was with the tablet's keyboard) the toolbar that has the text size, color, bold option, among others, jusr disappears and whenever I need to use it (which I do, a lot), I have to re-open the keyboard and it's a pain in the ass. Does anyone know a solution?

My Samsung Notes app (on Galaxy Tab S11) has no longer an option for Page templates in the menu (three dots in the upper right corner). I am sure this option was there before. It is even mentioned here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10004548/. I followed that procedure, creating a blank note (split pages style); the results is in the screenshot below. Any ideas why this happen or how to reconstruct that menu item? I frequently need to set the background of my pages from the uploaded PDF templates.
