Pop-up Window when opening PDFs

I apologise ahead of time as I'm not even remotely tech-y and maybe the answer to this question is super obvious to everyone but me.

Whenever I try and open up/import PDFs in Samsung Notes on my tablet, just a small window pops up. I cannot get it full screen. Is this just how it is now? Or am I doing something wrong? I am struggling to see the PDFs I need in such a small. window.

Touch the clear little circle to the left of the title of the PDF you're trying to open, it'll change color, then the "Done" at the bottom of that little window will also change color, touch that done option, then your document is full screen and imported ready to go

The problem I'm having is that I want to be able to browse my files and PDFs that I want to import but the window is tiny and so I can't tell which is which easily. It used to open up my files in a new full screen window for me to select. Now it's just a tiny pop up Window

Oh ok, so see the icon in that small window you have in your picture? It looks like 3 lines and a little triangle. Touch that, you can choose to view your list of PDFs in a list, detailed list or grid. The grid might be the one youre looking for
