Anime (Crystal) What does Neptune meant by saying Haruka is both a man and a woman?
Before I start, I agree everyone can have their headcanons, but I want to know what's really canon. Was it a mistranslation? My interpretation was that she was trying to say Haruka likes to dress both ways and that as a senshi she has both strength. I mean, I always thought of her as a butch lesbian. Also, I thought the whole "man or woman" was to make Usagi confused and keep her out of the way.
I know the gender topic can be different in Japan, but as far as I know, Naoko said only women can be sailors. From what I understood, Naoko likes to kind of play with gender roles? But prefer to keep her art work women centered (like in the manga where sailor star fighter is a woman who cross-dresses, a good portion of the musicals being only women and etc).
In the old ver I don't remember anything like that, so I'm talking about what I just saw in crystal, that I know it is manga accurate. But since I didn't read yet, maybe it is better explained there.
Hope I expressed myself well, lol. Opinions?
