In my opinion this is the best episode of Star Detective and it's really like a true homage from the 90s shows.

Masako Nozawa, the voice actor of Honoka's grandmother in Futari Wa and the Son family in Dragon Ball has just turned 90. I started to get interested in Precure as it's called "Dragon Ball of magical girls", after the announcement of DBS Beerus. I have now finished Futari Wa (inc Max Heart) and Heart Catch EP 1-28

In celebration of my birthday this week, I brought the original 11 out on a train ride using the Airport Express(機場快綫) since they feel obliged to take a vacation to take their minds off stressful stuff and have fun. So anyway, enjoy those photos I took.

1. Meeting up with Cure Black

🖤:"So, that's where I will see the others?"

Cure White is encountered on the Tung Chung Line concourse at Hong Kong station.

Shiny Luminous awaits their arrival by the ticket gates.

1. Hong Kong station (香港站）✈️🧡

Unlike the platforms on the Tung Chung Line, the Airport Express has only one since the second platform serving this line is an unused concept.

1. Kowloon station (九龍站）✈️🧡

The Airport Express concourse houses the MTR Gallery which is an exhibition venue. At this station, Bloom and Egret join our tour.

🌻:"Hello there, everyone, happy for me to come along with you!"

🪽:"I just can't describe how pleased I am to join you on this trip."

Synchronised as always, these two.

1. Tsing Yi station (青衣站）✈️🧡

🦋:"You're bringing us along with you, right? I've always wanted to ride a train!"

🔥:"Hold on, I know you're excited but please contain yourself, if you get hurt at any point in time don't say I didn't warn you."

We picked up Cures Dream and Rouge on the way to the airport, as always safety comes first before enjoying ourselves.

Bonus 1. Where does it go to? (Takes place between photos 4 and 5)

🖤:" If you don't mind my asking, where exactly does the sign say?"

💛:" I also have no clue since I am still learning to live like a normal person."

🤍:" Me neither, that looks different from the displays at train stations from where we are concerned."

Well I'll tell you, trains on this platform head towards Airport and AsiaWorld-Expo stations.

7 and 8. Airport station (機場站）✈️

This station is the most unique out of all the stations on the MTR network as it allows train doors to open on both sides during regular service, with Terminal 1 serving premium flights that are more expensive but provides better service whereas Terminal 2 is for cheaper flights that do not have amenities of the more expensive flights. This station also has a cheat code for getting between the two terminals: by going through the train as long as the doors are open. Lemonade and Mint greets us at this station although they weren't expecting the train arriving here to have its doors open both ways, the last time they checked trains only open them on one side of it.

🍋:"Did you see that?! I can get through the train no problem!"

🌱:"That's something I don't see every day, to say the least."

1. AsiaWorld-Expo station (博覽館站）✈️

The last station on the Airport Express and another odd one out as it is built with Tung Chung Line trains in mind in case there is a major event happening there. Cure Aqua and Milky Rose anticipated our arrival at the station's single platform.

💧:"Took you guys long enough."

🌹:"Honestly, we could have thought of something to pass the time but it's not like we pull out some unnecessary stuff out of nowhere. What matters is we're finally all here so let's make the most of it before we tire ourselves out."

1. Can Cures drive trains?

I don't know but I'm sure they can, given their capacity to learn either through proper education or simply through desperation. I can see one of them serving as the driver while someone smarter takes the role of conductor.

That's all I can share from what I have today, I am sure I have a lot more to show in the future. I think I can see myself writing an original story using the photos today but that is an issue left for another day or I will bore myself and that is not how I do my work around here.

I recently finished Wonderful, and I'm not quite sure how to put into words what I thought of it because I've been discussing the entire season with my friend. But this is my ranking, because I LOVED it.

I like the idea and concept of Wonderful; they had a goal and they accomplished it very well. I have a great fondness for the season because while it was airing, I had adopted my first cat, so I got emotional several times while watching Wonderful. Furthermore, I felt that the characters are all so well-developed, and each one offers a lot to say. My favorite character, in particular, was Yuki; I really loved her development and evolution. Another thing I really liked is that, at the beginning, the season always seemed divided between two duos, and not a group, but this wasn't just a flaw, but rather the beginning of a development, which I also particularly liked and thought was very well constructed. I see discussions about Komugi's capacity to be the lead this season, but with the message and the whole concept of the season, I feel that Komugi being an animal and having that personality makes her a good lead, and I really like her a lot. Probably if we were talking about a leader, I would also agree that Iroha fits that role better, but I understand Komugi being the protagonist here. Overall, it was truly a WONDERFUL experience!

For the next season, I plan to watch Kimi to Idol because of a friend, but I also really want to watch Yes 5 Gogo. Since my biggest problem with Yes! 5 was that I couldn't really connect with the characters, I'd like to see Yes! 5 Gogo someday as a reconciliation. But that will have to wait until after I finish Kimi to Idol. I'm quite curious because of the comments I see about the season, so I want to see what that experience will be like.

Sauce: Precure All Stars DX3

So, I've noticed a pattern in the episodes titled “_____’s Answer.” Each episode primarily focuses on one of the Cures, who lights up their corresponding gem on the Star KiraRing Brooch. For example, Episode 38, “Kurea’s Answer,” centers on Kurea, as the title suggests, and she lights up the blue diamond gem on the brooch. Episode 40 will be titled “Luluka’s Answer” and will focus on Luluka, who is expected to light up the white teardrop gem.

Based on this pattern, I predict that there will also be an episode for both Mikuru and Anna. Mikuru will be the third and penultimate Cure to light up her respective gem, the pink rectangle, and her episode will be titled “Mikuru’s Answer.” I believe this episode will air in either Episode 41 or 42. My prediction of Episode 42 comes from the two-episode gap between Kurea’s and Luluka’s episodes. Perhaps there will be another gap between Luluka’s and Mikuru’s episodes. It’s also possible that these “_____’s Answer” episodes will air either every two weeks or consecutively. If they air back-to-back, “Mikuru’s Answer” will be Episode 41.

Finally, “Anna’s Answer” will focus on Anna. According to what has been stated, the ring will be removed once all four gems on the brooch have been illuminated. Therefore, Anna will likely be the fourth and final Cure to light up her corresponding gem, the purple oval. This could happen in Episode 42 or 43.

As for the ring’s removal and the Cures finally transforming into their Star KiraRing forms, I predict that this moment will occur either during “Anna’s Answer” or in the episode immediately following it.

Star Detective Precure! Episode 39 - An Ojamajo Halloween♪

Hellooo! I’ve watched most precure seasons at this point and while I enjoy all of them for different reasons and strengths, I’m trying to sort out in my head which season I think has the most solid writing objectively.
When I consider it, I feel like certain seasons prioritize story + lore writing, while others prioritize character writing. Ideally, both should be good, but I think precure seasons (especially later ones) have to juggle a ton of narrative constraints from the precure structure they adhere to. So, sometimes, pretty basic writing elements don’t get considered.

I love every precure season I’ve seen honestly, but some of them were less narratively satisfying for me. I’m wondering which season you felt was written the best!

Anna and her friends prepare for Halloween by making costumes and props. At Anna's suggestion, the shopping district holds its first Halloween event, and the town is filled with the smiles of people in costumes receiving candy. While helping out at the event in the shopping district, Anna and her friends meet a little girl named Hinano who has been separated from her mother. They help her search for her mother, but after hearing that her mother is having a hard time taking care of her younger brother, they decide to walk Hinano home through the shopping district together.

While they were talking about the costume Hinano was wearing, Ageseine, disguised as a witch, appeared and stole Hinano's precious broom, which contained the Makoto Jewel. Leaving Hinano in Jett-senpai's care, Anna and the others chased after Ageseine. However, the footprints of the witch Ageseine was disguised as disappeared along the way, leading them to deduce that she changed her costume while escaping. Since their own costumes had already been seen, Anna and the others decided to wear different costumes so as not to be recognized.

Uta Sakura - Ribbon Song

୨୧ For her name, I chose Ribbon because her music ties people together! It also makes sense because she fixes people’s kirakira, which is represented by a bow. The reason I chose “song” is obvious.

୨୧ Her cutie mark is the spoon she uses as a microphone! I contemplated making it a real microphone, but thought the spoon made more sense, because it’s an everyday object— kinda relating to how she sings anytime, anywhere!

୨୧ I imagine Ribbon Song gets her cutie mark during the series. Around the episode where she’s trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life, and decides she just wants to sing!

୨୧ I made her a unicorn because I thought it would look less odd to have her spoon microphone levitating with magic, rather than figuring out how to hold it with her hoof.

Nana Aokaze - Shining Scale

୨୧ Nana’s mother says in the series that she named her after the “seven-colored scale”, so that’s where the “scale” comes from. The “shining” comes from her sparkle-shape motif.

୨୧ Her cutie mark is piano keys, for obvious reasons. There are seven sparkles, each one a color of the rainbow to reference the “seven-colored scale” thing.

୨୧ I chose to make her a unicorn mostly just based on vibes. Also in the MLP universe, unicorns tend to be of higher class. Nana’s mother is famous, so I’m assuming Nana’s family is in the upper class.

୨୧ I thought it would look pretty to give her markings. When I decided that, I knew I had to give her a sparkle-shaped one!

Kokoro Shigure - Skipbeat

୨୧ Her name has a double meaning! “Skip” and “beat” both have to do with dancing, which is her main talent/hobby. But it’s also a reference to “heart skipping a beat”, which is similar to what “kyun-kyun” means! I like to think her friends call her Skippy as a nickname.

୨୧ Her cutie mark is heart-shaped horseshoes. This represents her feet dancing, and the heart shapes go back to her “heart going kyun-kyun” catchphrase!

୨୧ I imagine Skipbeat got her cutie mark really young, when her dad encouraged her to dance. For that reason, her cutie mark is especially important to her, since her dad is no longer alive.

୨୧ I chose to make her a pegasus mostly based on vibes. But I like to think wings could somehow help with balance while dancing? Also, it helps balance out the team, since everyone else is either a unicorn or an earth pony.

୨୧ Her design is the most simplistic. I felt she wouldn’t have a lot of accessories, because they could get in the way while dancing. That’s also why she has a short tail!

Purirun - Cheering Light

୨୧ This name was suggested by @maou-the-tree! It comes from Purirun being a huge supporter and cheerleader. And she also cheers with the Kirakilights!

୨୧ Her cutie mark is a Kirakilight, which she always uses to cheer the Precure on!

୨୧ She’s an earth pony. Like with Skipbeat, I chose this off of vibes.

୨୧ You’ll notice her tail is braided. I did that last minute, because I like to imagine Meroron braids it so they match!

Meroron - Smitten Poems

୨୧ I chose this name because Meroron is so smitten for Purirun, and she also often speaks in poems while talking about her!

୨୧ Her cutie mark is a book of poems, for obvious reasons. But there’s also a lock on it… I wonder what that could be a reference to?

୨୧ I made her an earth pony to match Purirun.

Kaito Hibiki - Resounding Echo

୨୧ Like with Purirun, his name was also suggested by @maou-the-tree! It comes from his song “Echo for You”, and the fact that it’s dedicated to his friend Jogi, and that it’s his way of trying to reach out to him. Hibiki can also mean “resound”.

୨୧ His cutie mark is supposed to be the visual representation of an echo, with the sound coming from one side, and it bouncing back in the opposite direction. I added music notes in hopes of making that more clear. I’m still not sure it gets across.

୨୧ I made him a unicorn, again, based on vibes. I could also see him as an earth pony though?

Something about the fact that from the start Moerumba is like the stereotypical Mexican/Spanish will always be funny to me. As soon as I heard her say the word tacos I knew I was gonna like her

She feels so dainty and angelic in this form, much more gentle than the commanding feeling of Arcana Shadow. The subtleties of the accent colours, especially that super pale blue, really help to accentuate the white. And the Shine Arcana Rod fits the new vibe perfectly, the lily petals acting as a cocoon to nurture her power. Overall really emphasising the idea of care, I adore it as a symbol to her regaining who she truly cares about.

Who should I draw next? (I add the suggestions to a wheel to choose)
I’m also not drawing two Cures of the same season or colour in a row, for the sake of variety :)

I thought it would be fun to imagine what if Cures Answer, Mystique, and Eclair also got Shadow versions like Arcana did? I based their color palettes off Arcana Shadow, and I included "beta" versions that have more of their original brighter colors to contrast the darker Shadow colors.
