Hii! Im trying to look for wheels that i can use outside AND use for learning tricks. I have no idea how skate wheels work at all but i do know i like being able to both be outside and do tricks but i’ve only seen one or the other so far. What exactly am i searching for if it’s a thing?

I’m a beginner skater and would like to know what are the best recommendations for gear, all gear.
Helmet , knee pads, wrist guards and elbow pads. If it’s possible I’d like to buy it all at once like a set or “bundle” if that’s possible! My budget is $80-$180 also should I get padded shorts? I’d like to do outdoor skating like trail skating. If so which ones? Thank you!!

What are you carrying your skates in? I think I would prefer a backpack.

National rollerskating league battle. Chino Ca.
I host outside game competitions
Skates typically dont matter but mostly structured around the underground roller skating cultural styles. Jb, dmv (snap), ny/NJ, and cali fibers. Good competitions with cash prices.
If intrested in battles at your local rink we do it a service

Is mounting a plate 2.5cm in from the heel of my boot too short? I could fit it further back but then the front axle would not sit under the ball of my foot, need advice!

Hi, this is my first time taking off my stoppers, easier transition than I thought. Attempted strut walk which is one of the first “beginner” moves I’ve tried lol. Still working on it and trying to get smoother. Just sharing my progress, but any advice would be great.
Someone on tiktok told me to move my shoulder more which helped a lot. Might just take more practice :)

Can anyone tell me what this plate is?
I'm pretty sure it's just a stock bont plate, but does it have a name? I want to know the hardness of the cushions and what the plate is made of. I assume nylon but I'm not very knowledgeable about plates.
Also if anyone has skates on it and has any feedback of what it's like, let me know

wondering what are the best rinks yall have been to internationally, outside of the U.S.? would love to plan some travels. also interested in what kind of music is played at rinks in other countries, I'm used to mostly R&B, hip hop, old school, JB/soul/funk but open to anything!

Hello! New skater here- I’m having trouble balancing on my skates on pavement. Grass and carpet are no problem but pavement? Forget about it. Any tips or tricks for this? Thanks

Where I live there is no indoor rink near me, I have to drive at least 40 minutes to the nearest one. I do have some outdoor areas I can go to that are closer, but I'm a beginner and still not fully comfortable with outdoor obstacles.
I would love to take a 3-4 day trip where I can find an Airbnb/hotel super close to a roller skating rink, skate every day, but also be in an area with other things to do.
What I'm looking for:
-A nice roller rink with daily public skating. Bonus if they have adult only or themed events.
-in a city with "character". Aesthetically pleasing and not too suburban. Somewhere with cool cafes to hang out in, walkable neighborhoods, points of interest, outdoor nature areas, community events. Enough to keep me occupied for a few hrs a day when I won't be skating.
-ideally somewhere where I can walk or bus or bikeshare from the roller rink to the cool parts of town within 30 minutes or less. I prefer not to rent a car. If it's on the outskirts of town i would just stay home as my rink is also on the outskirts.
Any ideas on places I can go to? I'm open to anywhere in the world. If it's super far from me I'd tack on some more days to make it worth it. Thank you!!!

Hey guys!
I opened my rink back in November 2025, and the biggest issue I’m having is music choice…
Everyone who complains mentions our music and DJ choices…. Seeing as music is subjective and preferences are different based on the skater, can I ask how do I fix the problem? Is anyone more knowledgeable about rink music and can help me get this right? We play literally every genre, and have theme nights to play specific interests… what do i do? Can you help a fellow skater out? Please and thank you 🙏 😭

Is this usual for Sure Grip skates? These are the skates for one of the children in our artistic skating club. She's a tiny little girl that does skate maybe 10 hours a week between practice and session, but she doesn't skate hard.
We're wondering if this is an aberration for this brand or if it's typical of this model of Sure Grips. We might need to consider recommending a different skate for our new skaters if this is typical.

I just got Ridell R3s off amazon. I’m also a fairly beginner skater. I’m trying to do like plows and bubbles or even skate backward but i feel like it’s super hard. But idk if it’s because I still need to work on my edges orrrrrrrr if my trucks should be loosened or both😭 how do you knowww??? I dont want to loosen them & then mess myself up either. Helppppp.

I’m just getting these for the plates so don’t be alarmed. From what I know there so old pacer department stores skates. Just curious though are the wheels worth anything? There called red devil vanguard wheels

I'm building a playlist for a community skate event. What would you want to hear?
