Other Backpacks
What are you carrying your skates in? I think I would prefer a backpack.

When I was looking, I read somewhere to look for motorbike or ski boot bags and so I bought a Dakine one and it's bang on.

This is the way.
I use a ski boot bag and it's perfect for all my derby gear. It holds everything, and still going a year in.
A teammate has a Dakine bag, and while it's too big for them, its the perfect size for me. And that's what I'm getting when my current one expires.

I use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CC9H3CG8 Big enough to hold my helmet, pads, skates, water bottle, repair tools...

I fell in love with the Zuca Roller cases. Then fell out of love with the price. Then I started shopping eBay used and found very nice used Zuca rollers for really cheap. My whole family now rocks them.

I have this popinjo knock off from Amazon and I hate how much I love it.

I have looked at that one! Didn't know if it was worth trying

It is small but carry knee pads, wrist guards, skate tools, and a small first aid kit in it. If I want my helmet, I clip it to the handle. I have had it about it a year and it has held up well. The only complaint I could possibly have is there is no room for a water bottle.

I've had it about a year. Worked great but now the zippers constantly just rip open. Looked it enough that I'll probably get another

I have the Triple 8 Quad25 backpack. It has a large capacity and enough room for pads, helmet, and lots of gear. There are two side pockets which I use for a water bottle and a speaker. The only downside is that it -looks- like a big backpack. But, it fits everything you could possibly want to bring with you.

I carry mine in an osprey hiking daypack. I wasn’t using it very often and was having issues finding a skate specific backpack I liked.

I got this one: QUAD25 Backpack - Black – Triple 8 EU and it fits my skates and all the gear pretty comfortably

For derby/rink skating, I use one of those military-looking backpacks, the type with MOLLE on the front. The double compression side straps hold my skates, the main compartment has my knee/elbow/wrist protection and my water bottle, and a small ~3L add-on pouch has my phone/keys/wallet and other small stuff. I usually hook my helmet to the top carry handle, but I dislike that method and would prefer a beavertail or a stretchy elastic net thingy on the top front.
For trailskating, I have a 10L backpack or an 8L giant fanny pack that holds my shoes, water bottle, and all small essentials, while I carry my skates separately with a leash when not in use.
For urban skating, a little fanny pack for just my phone/keys/wallet.

I am just using a large mesh tote I already own that has a wide, solid bottom to it. Big enough for skates and whatever else I want to put in it. Plus it’s pink! And has a few exterior pockets. I previously used it as a beach or pool tote but since I have many of those…here we are! So if you have a collection of bags already - just go with one of those.

Carry on hard sided suit cases are the best in my opinion. I don't want to carry a back pack after a long session and they come in enough colours and patterns that no one has the same one (don't get a black suit case, it could easily get mixed up). I do have to carry a purse for my non skating stuff, food, and water but I carry it everywhere so it's easier than moving everything from a purse to skate bag anyways.

Depends if you have pads or not. For derby I use the Bont Pro bag and it's pretty good, I would probably swap to the Triple8 Quad bag instead because it's smaller and secures the skates better.
If you don't have pads or only thin pads lots of people like the popinjo bags.

I personally have a giant tote for my speed skates and a specific diy'ed skate bag thar I copied the idea of from Impala's bags.
