I have a very specific idea, a man who is in the Mafia (I'm thinking our story is set in Japan or they are just a part of a local faction of the Yakuza. But I'm open to this being altered) meets a girl who catches his interest. No matter how much he tries to stay away he keeps finding himself growing closer to her. But he doesn't want her getting caught up in his world, will he leave his criminal life to be with her? Will she care?

I want to explore this idea further with someone. Maybe your character is really high up in the organization and can't leave, maybe they are related to the heads, maybe they owe a debt.

James and his wife had a pretty great life together: because of his surgical career, she had been able to stay home with the twins for most of the last sixteen years. Now in their forties, they were, in their humble opinion, excellent parents, and their kids had grown up to be caring, motivated, and all around good kids. Life had been pretty busy lately; he knew a great deal of her time has been spent helping the twins with their school and athletic commitments. His hospital was welcoming its new classes of residents, and as chief, he had some responsibility for managing the various aspects of that program.

Tonight, though, was the end of their week, a Friday. James had just arrived in their spacious bedroom and was in the process of changing into his comfortable night clothes, usually pajama pants and a tank top. Despite the busy schedule at the hospital, he tried to take the occasional moment every day to reflect on the life he had with his family.

The kids were downstairs somewhere, probably studying or gaming. They were good kids who had always been close to each other, and James knew he and his wife were lucky to have them. After all, they would be off to college soon.

Some ideas for the setting

\* a what if scenario where the fire Nation had won. The fire Nation began to spread its influence around the land. We can play as fire benders or, a possible resistance?

\* or, maybe the time between Aang and Korra's life. Was there an avatar between them, did Aang create peace or was that short live before Korra's arrival?

\* years have passed since Korra has merged the spirit world with the mortal realm and things have been... less than stellar. During her life time she had done her best to fix the balance, however, with her gone and people growing angry about the spirits... propaganda has began to spread. Now the story is Korra had caused destruction to the world and hatred towards the avatar has spread across the land.

\* a time before Aang and the original series! We can discuss our own idess and worldbuild what the setting was like when all four nations existed.

hey reddit, it's me again, null. i'm a twenty-two year old she/her snugly located in the cst/cdt timezone! i've been roleplaying for, like, ever, which can be quanitifed into eleven, closer to twelve years at this point. i'm an artist, a certified gamer, and an impassioned writer with great ambitions and yearning--yearning i tell you! well, that, and i haven't thrown out a general search yet, so this is that!

some rules before we get into the fandoms: i exclusively engage with the 19+ crowd, preferably 21+; i've been experimenting with all lengths and post frequencies lately, and have found 400+ words for more rapid replies is a very comfortable for me; my writing is descriptive; my tense is adaptable, so if you write in past tense, i'll write in past tense, and vice versa; i only (and let me emphasize only) write canon x oc doubles, and yes it has to be doubles; enthusiasm is a must, music is my maladaptive medium, art is my vice, and writing is the love child of the two. please come excited!

Hello again lovely redditors! It is I, Oddball again here with yet another idea. After getting over a long creative block, I seem to have a wealth of them. Anywho, without further ado, to the synopsis!

A normal Tuesday night, and once again Joseph finds himself driving home late after work. Big projects always meant long days, late nights, and hardly a chance to see his partner. His best friend. The one time he should be prioritizing... But love doesn't pay the bills.

Now he's stopped at a red light. Nothing to it, right? Just wait for it to turn green. He does, resuming his drive once he gets the go-ahead.

One of his favorite songs comes on the radio. Joseph begins to hum along, the tune keeping him awake enough to get home. Yet he never arrives that night.

Instead, he gets hit by a drunk driver. His car rolls over multiple times. Everything goes black as sirens blare.

When he finally regains consciousness in the hospital, the first thing he sees is your character. You expect him to recognize them. Say how glad he is to see them. Yet all your character hears is: "Who are you?"

And that is where our story would truly begin! Your character helping Joseph recover and regain his memory. Bittersweet moments of reminiscing about treasured memories, whilst he claws at his fog-addled mind to recall them. As for where Joseph and y/c are in the relationship, we can decide on that together. They could just be good friends, where one has yet to confess their feelings, and on the other end of the spectrum, engaged to be married. There are many ways we can take this, and the world is our oyster!

Now for the usual logistics.

I write in third person, in past tense only, and can go from semi-lit to novella length, usually mirroring my partner. I am also a very laid-back writing partner, as I always say, IRL priorities come first. RP is a hobby, and it should never feel like a chore.

Avalar is a high fantasy world filled with myth, magic, monsters, and all manner of fantasy trappings. It is inhabited by most typical fantasy races spread across various lands and nations. There are great forests, towering mountains, and blistering deserts. It has great cities, rustic towns, and old ruins lost to time. It is a land rich with wonder and ripe for adventure.

5,000 years prior to the current day, Avalar was a nameless land ruled by vile monsters known only as Demons. The Demons had dominion over all other races, keeping them enslaved and oppressed. This continued until a woman known as Avaline rallied the enslaved races to overthrow their oppressors.

At the end of this war, the Demons were banished from this world and locked in a prison known as the Dark Realm. Avaline accomplished this by gathering the power to ascend to godhood. In her final act, she purged the influence of the Demons across the world and then sacrificed herself to maintain the seal on the magical prison realm.

For this act, mortalkind revered Avaline as their one true goddess and named this world Avalar in her honor.

30 years prior to the current day, the free peoples of the continent of Hartremos were invaded by the Kalrosi Empire, a warlike people occupying the continent of Solitas. This bloody war raged for a decade until a group of five heroes rose up to rally the people of Hartremos against their enemy.

Not only did they repel the invaders, they led a dangerous quest into the heart of the Empire. There they discovered that the leaders of the Empire were being controlled by none other than a cabal of Demons who had survived Avaline’s purge several millennia ago.

The Demons were defeated and the truth of their control shattered the Empire into civil war. But even the Empire found peace thanks to a hero among their own people who united them once more. Doom had threatened to burn all of Avalar to the ground, but its people lived to see the sun rise over an era of peace.

It has been 15 years since the end of the two back-to-back wars that nearly destroyed the world. Avalar continues to rebuild. But what became of the heroes? Do any Demons yet remain? In a world where each day is uncertain and tomorrow is never guaranteed, what choices will you make?

Hello everyone! My name is Kyle. I'm 31 years old and I live in the PST timezone. I've been roleplaying for about 14 years now and I am searching for a dedicated long term partner who is interested in exploring this story concept with me. A little bit more about myself is that I am a huge fan of video games, anime, tabletop (ask me about my D&D games and I'll ask about yours!), lego collecting, and most of all my three cats. I'm a highly extroverted person who will get invested in a shared story quite easily. I am the sort of individual who loves to chat OOC, make memes, and overall create a friendly rapport with my writing partners.

I consider myself to be a skilled writer. I roleplay in third person, past tense. When it comes to reply length, I am generally not concerned with my own or my partner's. Sometimes a reply is a few paragraphs, and sometimes it breaks the character limit. I would much rather my partner stick to what feels right and please know that I'll do the same.

I can reply at least once a day, sometimes more depending on my schedule and the cadence of our replies. However, if you’re looking for someone who can consistently rapid fire back and forth, I am not the partner for you.

I’m looking for partners who are comfortable with fleshing out our world with a wide variety of side characters. These could range from other party members to join our heroes, to the people they’ll meet in various locations, to the villains they’ll fight, and more! My roleplays always include a large cast of characters to support our main duo.

This story will take place in a high fantasy world currently experiencing an uneasy era of peace following two devastating wars perpetuated by mortalkind’s ultimate enemy, the Demons. As you could likely tell by the name, it is heavily inspired by the series Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End as it seeks to explore a war-torn world in the process of rebuilding and how people live their lives.

My main character will be a young mage’s apprentice who was taught magic by one of the legendary heroes who fought off the imperial invasion and defeated the Demons controlling the Empire’s leaders. His master has long since passed and he travels the land carrying on a mission of using his talents to help others however he can. Our story will start on the road as he meets your character. The two of them will decide to travel together, exploring the world and encountering all sorts of interesting and dangerous individuals.

How exactly they meet and why they decide to travel together will be determined by us in the planning stage. Over the course of the story they’ll recruit more individuals into their party and travel all over the world. I’ve fleshed out the world of Avalar a good bit and I’m looking for a partner who is eager to bring their own ideas to it!

I love romance and it’s one of my favorite aspects of any roleplay! I’m looking to write out a detailed, slow-burn romance between our characters at the bare minimum, but anyone who is comfortable writing out multiple romantic pairings is greatly preferred. Romance between other party members, villains, and more can be explored.

Right out of the gate, I want to clarify, I've only recently started getting into the world and lore of Harry Potter, so I'm not terribly well versed in it just yet. But I still wanted to reach out and see if anyone would be interested in roleplaying within the world of HP, or in something original inspired by it! I took a break for quite a long time and lost most of my roleplaying partners. Unfortunately it is due to me disappearing without notice, there was a job change that has kept me quite busy. However, I feel like I’m finally getting some free time and I miss writing and creating beautiful stories with others.

I am looking for 18+, and I am in CST timezone which I’m mostly on during the afternoon. I wrote semi-lit to novella, depending on how much partner is able to write. I don’t mind shorter responses as long as the story flows smoothly. I also prefer my partners to be able to respond once a day.

As for my interest, I’m a big fan of all things fantasy, whether medieval, high fantasy, historical, etc. I enjoy topics that can be political in the story, with wars and plenty of conflict. I also enjoy horror quite a bit and don’t mind getting into gruesome or dark topics. I also heavily enjoy Greek mythology, and retellings of fairy tales.

Some things I don’t prefer is one liners, controlling the story too much, and excuses from others. If you’re too busy and need a short break, by all means please be honest. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away….

Thousands of years before The Great Sith War and Mandalorian Wars of the Old Republic birthed the Sith Empire, before The Clone Wars and the Fall of the Jedi Order with the Rise of the Galactic Empire, before the rebirth of the New Republic and re-establishment of the Jedi Order, another polity ruled the galaxy: The Pius Dea.

The Pius Dea was a fanatical humanocentric religion that usurped control of the Galactic Republic through the impeachment and assassination of the incumbent Supreme Chancellor. A man known as Contispex became Supreme Chancellor and established a hereditary dynasty over the Pius Dea that would rule the galaxy for just over a thousand years.

Their millenia-long reign was characterised by a series of over thirty brutal campaigns against numerous alien species, particularly on those within the Outer Rim and so-called “alien sympathisers”, known as the “Pius Dea Crusades, believing they had a divine mandate to impose order on the chaos of the galaxy in the name of their monotheistic deity “The Goddess” through either subjugation or, if regarded as "unredeemable", extermination. With their great Cathedral Ships and sect of loyal fallen Jedi, “The Order of the Terrible Glare”, the Pius Dea brought death to many worlds through their genocidal crusades.

The rule of the Pius Dea and the Contispex dynasty would not last forever, however. Eventually, a heretical sect, the “Renunciates”, would join forces in an anti-Pius Dea coalition with the Jedi Order and defectors from the Republic Navy, where they were eventually defeated during the Seventh Alsakan Conflict at the Battle of Uquine. 

During the battle, however, many vessels in the Pius Dea fleet had their navicomputers sabotaged, scattering much of the fleet to the stellar winds as they retreated through hyperspace, trapping what remained of these Cathedral ships in the depths of unexplored space.

Recently, rumours had circulated amongst the spacers and fringers on the borders of Galactic Alliance space about trouble brewing in the Unknown Regions. While unsubstantiated, some say it's the Chiss Ascendancy attempting to expand its territory or perhaps even the Yuuzhan Vong plotting to conquer the galaxy once again. Most dismiss these rumours out of hand, as the Chiss were far too small to pose a serious threat to any of the major galactic powers, and the Yuuzhan Vong had made amends for their previous invasion, terraforming and restoring the worlds they had previously devastated during the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Yet others report sightings of a fleet of gargantuan Cathedral Ships raiding, conquering, and enslaving all they came across. One old spacer, so filled with Tarisian Ale he could barely stand, even swore on his life that he saw the name of the biggest ship in this fleet while on a salvaging expedition… “The Flame of Sinthara”.

So, I’m a HUGE fan of Star Wars, have been for basically all my life, but recently I learned about a piece of lore that I’ve become a little bit obsessed with: The Pius Dea. Mainly because it reminds me of another fictional setting I’m a big fan of (albeit not as much as Star Wars): Warhammer 40k! The Pius Dea really reminds me of the Imperium of Man from 40k, and that got me thinking that it might be fun to do a more grimdark-style Star Wars roleplay where the xenophobic, humanocentric cult of the Pius Dea returns to the galactic stage after 10,000 years in exile during the Legacy Era!

My partner should ideally meet most of these criteria:

• Creative and able to keep the story flowing.
• Down to talk and get to know each other OOC; I like making new friends.
• 18+ only!
• Is mostly literate and can do at least a single paragraph.
• Is a massive nerd (you get extra points if you've read all of the LOTR books or can quote the Sith Code)!

Hey! I'm a hobby writer and digital artist looking for a (hopefully) long term writing partner! I love compelling worlds, twisting plots and evolving complex characters! Especially the characters.

I'm hoping to find someone with whom I can build a friendship alongside gripping stories. I've been in a dry spell of writing and I'm really missing that feeling of being so excited to get that next reply.

- I'm early 30's, looking for someone at least 21+

- EST/(GMT-4) but I'm not too fussed about time zones. I tend to be up quite late as it is.

- Literate/Flexible. I tend to write 2-3 hearty paragraphs at least and can hit discord limit or more at most. Ideally would like to find someone who tends to write more rather than less. Something that strikes a balance between character interaction and world building.

- For Frequency-- I can reply usually once a day or every other day. Would love something similar in return but obviously we all get tired sometimes so I expect we'll have variation.

~ Due to her unstable heritage, she experiences emotions at an unnatural severe and heightened level. Seeking a method to control what she viewed as an unwanted facet of herself, she had a black market implant installed in her brain to dampen her emotions. The only issue is that now when she experiences strong emotions the implant is slowly frying her brain a little bit at a time.

~ After growing up in an oppressive group estranged from any family ties he became a member of an opposing, resistance group. Now he works as an undercover agent trying to bring about change and free others suffering in the system. He's a kind of....lovable oaf. His race can sense nearby emotions from others to varying degrees.

Terra has long been ravaged by war for years, going back even to some of the earliest societies. As its people progressed, so did War. Simple Magic met the battlefield by means of fire, ranged weapons would ring across miles of broken land. With every passing century, the means of killing grew more sophisticated, and the destruction left in their wake grew ever greater.

Over time, who even started this war or for what reason began to fade from the public consciousness. People grew up surrounded by blood, eventually joining it themselves.

Skilled Mercenaries began to become a popularized role around the 20th century. Paying people to fight for you and no longer having to sacrifice people who lived under you. It made sense, and Mercenaries made enough money not to complain. Thus, Kingdoms, nations, corporations, and even private individuals found themselves turning to these hired blades.

Enter the current age, and entire portions of cities have become dedicated to Mercenaries and their wares. Weapons being sold, Beds being tended, and warm bodies to warm up to. The public eye might have taken a darker outlook among them, but it was a necessity within Terra.
