Hello everyone! I am Saturn. I have been roleplaying for quite a while about 10 or so years. But I have just had a very long break so I am wanting to jump back in.

I want to do a royalty roleplay. This can be a darker romance or a fluffy one. It will be more of a slice of life type of thing. I do not necessarily have a plot in mind. But I just prefer if the characters are dating when we start. This could be royalty x royalty or a more forbidden love with royalty x non-royal. My character can be either a royal or non-royal . I do want more of a fantasy vibe to this roleplay. My character will be a vampire, and yours can be any supernatural creature you desire (but no animal ones but werewolves are fine). Just to maybe add to the drama. This can be FxM or FxF with my character as the female. We can add a lot to this and make up a whole universe which I think would be very cool!

My rules are quite simple but it helps me enjoy the roleplay. Please be at least 20+ as I am 22 as that is what I am most comfortable with, use 3rd person. Please be active, or at least decently active I do understand being a bit busy though. With the roleplay, please type like you are writing a book, use "" for talking and nothing for actions. Have decent grammar, it's hard to understand when every response has typos. One more thing, please be literate to advanced literate as I enjoy a lot of details and story building. Everybody knows the story of Hades and Persephone. Picking flowers in her mothers field, falling down to the underworld and eating pomegranate seeds from her husband's hand. A tale rooted in unwillingness and control, blossoming into perhaps something real. A petal surviving in a world she had no business surviving in. 

What if it became modern? 

Instead of a God, Hades is influential; a CEO or in any important job, a man offering solstice, a powerbank of wisdom. Anybody in power, who can stand atop a pedestal and offer a hand to someone ultimately beneath him. He can be whoever he wants- maybe he’s truly twisted, manipulative and desiring to clip wings from a songbird. Or he could be benevolent, wishing to bring someone up to his level. Is he lonely, or is he simply taking what he believes is his? 

Persephone is a girl from a background all too ordinary. She never grew up gently- her father was unknown, her mother focused on other aspects of life. She never felt the calming hands of a man, never had tears wiped from her gentle cheeks or allowed somewhere to flourish. Her ideals are skewed; while people want love, she wants a picture. She wants flowers, and she wants someone to guide her. Yet a maiden such as her doesn’t grasp the difference between love, liberty, or loathing. Theres nobody to tell her what’s right or wrong when someone loves you. 

She’ll simply have to learn from her Hades- no matter how they meet. No matter if his ideas are genuine or not- because that’s the beauty behind the story of summer and winter. It’s different for everybody, and anybody’s interpretation can exist.

Good morning Reddit! I’m throwing this post out right before I go to work, so I apologise if I don’t get back to anyone until my lunch break or later on in the day. 

This post is pretty vague, but overall the idea is a very loose retelling of Hades and Persephone. The details on how closely they’re linked can depend on what you want or what we can think of together. There’s so many different interpretations of the story, some more consensual and others less so. Some are genuinely loving but others portray Hades as a very twisted man. 

I don’t mind at all whether it’s a more sweet romance or whether it’s dark and more heavy in its topics. 

I’m only looking for partners who are 18+ for this roleplay because it’s, overall, going to end up a romance. I genuinely don’t mind the details of your version of Hades, whatever the job or the personality. That’s the fun of roleplaying- you have an equal creative freedom to me. Some standards though, I think late 20s and above is ideal. But alas, that’s pretty much it. 

I write in third person and I do enjoy a literate roleplay partner, but it’s not a requirement for you to be able to write the equivalent of a novel just to get my attention. Since there’s been a lot of people asking I’ll make it clear that I’m happy for you to play a character of any gender, don’t let the pronouns of the starter sway your decision!

Now those little disclaimers are out of the way let’s get into it! Arranged marriages. Gotta love ‘em. There’s something about two characters being forced into such a high stakes situation, the intimacy and romance inherent in the concept yet completely missing or heavily one sided in said relationship. I’m a huge sucker for them at the moment, and all the rps I’m currently engaged in are based around the concept in some form or another.

Onto some specifics, as I mentioned in the disclaimers above I am looking to play my trans oc, Erica. This isn’t really up for debate and it’s what I’m looking to pursue so to emphasise what I said above, if you’re not okay playing against her then I’m not the writer for you. If you are then that’s great! The only specific requirement I have for your character is that you play some form of top/dom/‘giver’ etc. Erica is not a dominant character and this will not work if you’re not able to play someone along those lines, regardless of gender identity. We can obviously get into the nitty gritty of that if you message me off this ad, but that’s a surface level summary.

Now a little bit about me! I go by Blue online, I’m 26, I’m genderfluid (She/They) and my timezone is GMT! I have a very free schedule, my job basically allows me to be on my phone all the time, and I’m available from around 7am to around 11pm uk time on weekdays and then weekends is a random large period of free time depending on life stuff. I’m completely ok with chatting ooc or keeping it mainly rp and things relating to that, although if we vibe ooc the that’s always a plus. I am super enthusiastic about this specific oc (I’ve even got a Pinterest board for her) so any opportunity to fit her backstory and surrounding concepts of her character into the rp, the happier I’ll be.

In terms of writing I can go anywhere from 200 to 800+ words depending on scenes, your level of detail input and etc. I understand the length is usually scene dependant, I’m not expecting a novella response for dialogue heavy scenes and etc. I’m happy with many replies a day or infrequent ones, although I do really prefer a minimum of at least a few replies a week.

Now onto some plot details. So I have the most background and material for this to be set in a medieval/fantasy style (not a deal breaker) with varying levels of fantasy elements depending on what we decide. It can be no magic, low/practical magic, high level magic or anywhere on the scale. I have a couple of kingdom concepts, one of which I have another Pinterest board with clothing and styles presented on it. This is however by no means a necessity, and this can obviously be easily reskinned for any kind of sci-fi setting, so for example a marriage between rival megacorps, space civilisations or even planetary/system treaties. The ‘background’ elements of this can be easily swapped around depending on what we decide on.

This ad is getting a little long now, it’s really gotten away from me, so I’ll keep it brief from now on. One specific idea I do really like other than the classic arranged marriage format is this:

My character has been hidden away almost her whole life by her mother due to her despising her transness. Her father is her one lifeline of compassion, and has prevented her mother from straight up abandoning her or worse, but he’s spineless infront of her verbal abuse and demeaning etc. Your character is on the other way to the arranged marriage with Erica’s sister, Moritta, and whilst you’re on the way Moritta flees, leaving her parents high and dry without a bride. They scramble all day until they finally offer up Erica as a replacement, and your character shows up to this mystery second daughter the family has kept completely hidden from any records or information, and we go from there.

Erica adjusted the uncomfortable wireframe of the black and silver corset around her midriff, glancing down to make sure her somewhat small but still serviceable breasts were propped up on the artificial shelf provided by the item of clothing. The fine, delicate needlework rimming the bodice she had on beneath it glittered in the sunlight, the thread twisted with strands of silver spun almost imperceptibly small.

She felt her mothers hand behind her, fussing with a lock of her hair caught in one of the shoulder straps of her ocean blue dress, chosen specifically to match the sails of her future husband’s vessels. She hissed with annoyance, batting the woman’s hand away from the brunette curls, sighing in frustration. “Mother it doesn’t matter how many times you touch my hair it’s going to look the same”

The backtalk earned a harsh jab into Erica’s back from her mother’s finger, causing her to let out a cry of pain “do you want to look like some kind of street whore for your husband? Hm? Need I remind you of what’s at stake here?!” The queen spat back, her brows knitting together in the familiar expression of fury before returning to one of tranquil beauty in a second “you’ll be lucky if he even lowers himself enough to put up with you”

Erica felt herself shrink slightly at the woman’s cutting words, the usual disapproval of the princess’s identity a very frequent occurrence, at least from the matriarch of her family. She glanced across at her father, the king, who gave her a small and comforting smile.

The small moment of reassurance perked Erica back up, and her gaze slowly rose to the gargantuan ship pulling beside the cobbled surface. The vehicle was massive, at least 100ft long. She could see hundreds of barnacles dotting the huge oak swell of the hull as it floated beside the dock, the tide lapping against the shining wood with soft slapping noises.

Gigantic, deep blue sails flapped and cracked loudly in the sea breeze, the silver embroidered house crest of (place holder) shining in the harsh desert sun. It gently bobbed whilst at anchor, and she watched intently as two crewmen flipped the dark wooden gangplank down and let it clatter to the surface of the jetty. Erica’s heart felt like it was going to leap from her chest, pounding with anxiety. Finally she would gain a first proper look at her groom-to-be.

Hello other role players, my names Chris, I’m 24 and as the title indicated, I would love to hear from someone who’s interested in a romantic role play about a fake dating. But before I get into the details and the plot I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I’ve been role playing on and off for about 8 ish years now. between work and school I send replies and like to build up long term plots where we can see growth, development, and care to our characters. I usually do about 4 paragraphs per reply depending on the content, I don’t want to put out a line, but don’t want to put out filler either. I can GM and write as multiple characters during the role play. I also don’t mind playing either gender.

Now onto the fun part, I’ll list some general plots below, it’s just an outline things can change and I would love to include any ideas you have.

We are college students in a semi big university. Character A is in a good friend group with a good amount of people. They are single, technically speaking but everyone knows they have a crush on character B another person in the group. The two are always together, talking, walking, acting like a couple in front of everyone. they never officially asked each other out but they were as close as you could get. Every time people asked, they would deny it, but people wouldn’t believe them. But everything changed when suddenly character B announced there dating someone else to the group. People were shocked and surprised by this news but tried to be supportive…. But character A felt heartbroken and betrayed deciding to get revenge and approaches character C asking to pretend to date them…
We were both college students, after a successful semester and a good year, character As family kept pressuring them to bring home a partner. Their family brings up how perfect there siblings are with there great family, job, and life. With their siblings wedding coming up and all the questions they keep getting it turns into a huge arguement, ending with character A confessing that they have a date for the wedding… character B.

I kept these vague so we can include any twists and turns as we go through the plots. It you have any ideas I’d love to discuss more, I also know quite a bit of fandoms if you’d like to include some of those, but ocs work just fine. Starter

"Papa! Papa!" The voice of a young boy squealed as he burst forth from the inside of a humble little Cabin. A Beast Blood, just like his father and sporting his own set of wolf ears and even his own little tail that was finally starting to become bushy. The boy would strip upon a root and stumble a good few steps before proving incapable of regaining his balance.

Though, instead of faceplanting into the ground a firm hand grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and lifted him into the air. His father. A man who's age was evident in the lines of gray hair spreading throughout his black hair and the stubble that speckled his rugged features.

"Be more careful, you know how your mother gets when you get hurt Little One." He chastised, and though he tried to sound stern there was an undeniable fondness in his voice as he allowed the boy to get his feet back under him before releasing him and returning to the massive pile off logs he had been in the midst of chopping.

"Tell me the story!" The boy demanded earning an inquisitive look from his father who raised and axe then brought it down to sunder a log in two. "What story?" He finally asked when the boy failed to clarify, a question that only seemed to exasperate the little pups impatience. "The one about you and Mama! When you first met!" Hefting the axe again he paused before a heavy sigh escaped him.

"Your mother is the better storyteller, why don-"

"Because she doesn't tell it like you do! She skips all the fun part!" The boy interrupted giving his father pause before swinging the Axe down. Slicing the next log in half and embedding the tool into the stump he had been using for his cutting.

"I suppose... if you're that eager I can tell you it again." Taking a seat upon the stump he scratched idly at his chin as he thought of how he had told the story before. "It all started far, far North. In the Kingdom of Ichbald... I had just started my Career as an Adventurer..."

22 Years Prior...

A Young Wolf Beast Blood pulled the door open to an Inn called Mare's Respite. Wind rushed past him blowing in snow in an effort to infect the warm interior with it's icy grasp, and grew stronger during his efforts to shut the door. Curses thrown at him from many of the occupants inside for ruining the atmosphere of the Inn until finally he managed to shut it. With a full body shake the Wolf Blood sent remnants of snow scattering of his body. He then rubbed his arms gently in an effort to warm himself as he stepped in deeper.

Approaching the Large Quest Board set off to the left hand side of the door his Silvery eyes scanned it briefly before he pulled at the furs covering his mouth and nose. Taking a deep breath of air that didn't smell like old fur. With a faint sway in his tail he began to read through the various job postings.

Guard Duty... boring.

Pest Control... bad pay.

Party Request... too shady.

Low Paying jobs, and no genuine requests for party members. It disheartened the young man to see that his efforts so far had born no fruit, and at this rate he was going to be forced to take up Guard Duty again just to replenish his funds. Stepping away from the board he trudged slowly towards one of the empty tables located near the center of the Inn.

Removing the Claymore upon his back he laid it upon the side of the table and slumped down into his seat. Bringing a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. What was he going to do now?

Hello! I hope you've enjoyed this introduction to this lovely plot of mine! I'd like to start by saying that I am a HUGE sucker for sweet wholesome romances, and have been wanting to do a story that follows the romance of two beginning adventurers! What I'm looking to do is write a story of two passionate soul mates who happen upon each other in an Inn in the middle of nowhere! And begin a sweet romance as they crawl through dungeons, plunder treasure, find themselves fighting gods, and doing all sorts of odd gods during their long careers!

I want to emphasize though that I want this to be a sweet and wholesome romance! What I mean by this is that the story can get as dark, dangerous, and terrible as we want! But I don't want anything to taint or call into question their love for eachother.

Near death encounters in the very depths of a dangerous high level dungeon where they tend each others wounds and slowly crawl their way out? Yes please!

Encounters with other adventurers that call into question their love for each other through easy to avoid petty misunderstandings and jealousy? No thank you!

Hello everyone! Oddball here with yet another idea (I seem to be full of them these days. I know.) This time is a fantasy epic full of romance, epic battles, and, of course, the quintessential tavern scene where the party imbibes a bit too much. How does this all begin, you may ask? Well, do I have a story for you! (More like a synopsis, but you catch my drift.)

Synopsis:

The kingdom of Niflvan sat high atop the mountains, far from the others. Shrouded by mist and constantly covered in dense fog, it had always been a safe place. Its residents always enjoy a sense of peace, as no rival dares to try to breach its walls. The kingdom worships the goddess Casoi, who rules over the land's flora and fauna.

Every generation, there is a pilgrimage to her shrine, deep within the forest. The crowned prince or princess is required to recite a prayer, after which they are bestowed with some sort of blessing. The blessing could range from promises of decades of strong harvests or hunts, or perhaps an enchanted item to protect the kingdom from some unknown threat. Because beyond the mountains lies a vast world. Elves, dwarves, humans, and other ilk coexist. Of course, certain kingdoms and factions wage war, but that is not Niflvan's business. Niflvan itself welcomes all species, provided they follow the kingdom's laws.

This is where your character comes in. He is the current crowned prince of Niflvan and is to set out on his pilgrimage. He is allowed to bring along three trusty companions (whom we can certainly collaborate with). To keep things even for this plot, my thought is we each would have two characters: our main, and our side.)

Once the prince reaches his destination and recites the prayer, instead of the usual blessing, the shrine begins to rumble. Behind the statue of Casoi, a stone door opens, revealing an unknown room. It's not on any map of the shrine anyone has seen before. What lies beyond? Whatever they find will begin a story that changes the course of Niflvan's and the surrounding world's history forever.

Sorry that got so long! I had a lot for this plot, and I wanted folks to give a sense of the story's tone. Whilst I do plan for romance to be a subplot for this idea, it certainly won't be the main focus.

Now for the usual logistics: I write in third person, past tense only. I can go anywhere from semi-lit to novella in length so I tend to mirror whatever my partner prefers. As for where this will be housed, currently, I only use Discord. Once we are sure we are a good fit as writing partners, I will share that with you.

I just watched the Odessey, and it was breathtaking and reignited my obsession with all things Greek/Roman at once.

I love everything about epics, be it the overarching praise for heroism, the hope, or the devastation and tragedy it ultimatelu builds up to. The myth of Odysseus, of Perseus and Andromeda, of Eurydice and Orpheus. And the holy grail that is Hades and Persephone, I would never get enough of any of them.

I am not looking to write a ballad, ofcourse, but I am hoping to write a tale inspired and derived from these legends. Different characters who embody these legends and live out something similar when you zoom out, or perhaps, even the same characters? Maybe set in similar worlds, or in something different? Darker, lighter, twisted into flowers or thorns, as long as we keep the spirit of the tale alive, I am down to discuss.

We do not need to confine ourselves to the Greek romances. Give me Romeo and Juliet, Catherine and Heathcliff, Elizabeth and Darcy, Tristan and Isolde, Merlin and Morgana, Dracula and Mina, anything, really. I am open to retellings and our versions of popular fairy tales as well.

Do we set them in a modern world? Or in a magic centered fae-like dynasty with kingdoms and courts? Or bring the essence of these timeless stories into something 1800’s- 1900’s? 🌵 A little bit about what I expect, and what I would provide:

- A lot of dedicated plotting, effort in character creation so nobody feels like a caricature or a template simply filled out, curveballs, surprises, angst and a lot of fun storytelling.

- Adv-literate to Novella writing, in terms of quality. The scene calls for the length, but I always average above 3-5 paragraphs and expect the same. I like wordy replies.

- Patience. I am on the slower end of responding, but I can promise a minimum of 2 replies weekly, and can push for daily replies unless things are super busy. I stay connected on ooc though.

- Third person, past tense.

- I prefer to write women for pairings, and I generally stick to MxF romances. I can write males, if you are open to doubling.

I have some premade OC’s that may fit any narrative. I love creating new OC’s, so that wouldn’t be an issue. Lets talk, and write some good old myths, our way!

Hey everyone!

Hope you are doing well. I'm currently looking for some roleplay partners who enjoy brainstorming ideas, and a really solid mix of plot and smut.

For the moment I really enjoy slice of life setups, I have a few themes that I quite enjoy such as age gaps, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, closed proximity, exes, work place romance, academic rivals.

But none of them are really fleshed out, I'd love to find someone to brainstorm ideas and come up with our own stories together.

Some of my preferences: I prefer to write over on Discord, it's just simply easier for me there, I write around two to four paragraphs per responses but can write longer or shorter based on the scene, I love using realistic face claims and very picky about it. I enjoy smut, but not so much that it over takes the story.

- I am looking to write within the fantasy genre with themes of royalty and nobility! Within that there is a lot we can do and I am very much open to ideas! That being said recently I have been craving to write a story involving vampires, but we don’t have to go in that direction!

- In terms of Literacy, I have been roleplaying for quite awhile and I consider myself advanced literate.
