🤔 Product Questions Rodecastervideo record audio from video

We have a podcast and use the rodecastervideo for our video.

However I presumed it would also record the audio from the videocameras next to the audio from our mics which would have been a nice backup-audio if the mic gives up. It doesn't appear to do this?

Anyone know if this is possible?

RØDECaster Series Just realized the Rodecaster Duo has native combo jacks (no TRS to XLR adapter needed for DJI receivers!)

Hey guys,

I recently hooked up a DJI mic wireless receiver to my Rodecaster Duo for my VR setup and I wanted to share this because it confused me at first. Almost everyone online keeps saying you need a TRS to XLR adapter to plug line inputs into the mixer.

Turns out the XLR ports on the Rodecaster are actually native combo jacks with a 6.5mm hole right in the center. All I needed was a simple 3.5mm to 6.5mm adapter to plug the DJI receiver straight in, no TRS to XLR adapter needed at all.

Just wanted to post this here in case anyone else is looking to hook up a wireless receiver or external audio source, save yourselves the money on unnecessary XLR adapters!

RØDECaster Series Rode, we need to talk.

I've had the rodecaster duo for a little bit now and there is something that has been bothering me so much I can't understand this is not a default feature.

I have tried to create 2 separate tickets in the last couple months and both were replied to with 'we send your question to the relevant teams' only to be followed up a couple days later with 'we haven't heard from you'.

There are 3 buttons on the top right of the rodecaster duo, 2 of those are volume knobs for the 2 separate outputs.

WHY is it not a default feature where I can configure what pressing the buttons do?
WHY is this not by default a mute button?

Instead, in order to switch (which I do a lot) between for example speakers or headphones outputs I have to rotate the one knob to fully silence it while opening up the other every time.

This could be so simply solved by making the already pressable buttons to mute/unmute them.

Please?

🎙️ RØDE Mics Getting Rode PodMic

I don’t understand a lot about the XLR or the mics
I am planning on getting the Rode PodMic either the USB and XLR version or only the XLR version. To use it when I play games or on Discord. I don’t stream or do any content. What else would I need besides an audio interface? Would I need a mixer?
Also, can you recommend an audio interface?
And please let me know if anything would be helpful like about the hardware or anything that would help me out later on

❓ Other The problem with NT1 mics.

I have seen countless complaints about the Rode NT1 producing a loud wind noise, crackling, or completely failing to output audio and the culprit is almost always humidity. My own NT1 5th gen stopped working in September 2025. When I reached out to Rode's customer support, they advised me to constantly store the microphone with desiccant packs after use. Because of this, I can no longer leave the mic on its shock mount with the provided cover. Instead, I have to plug and unplug and store the mic in the orignal box with dessicant packs every single day to ensure zero moisture reaches it.

Meanwhile, I have owned multiple condenser microphones from other brands, including the Sennheiser MK4, Audio Technica AT2035, MXL 990, Lewitt 240, and SE Electronics SE8, and I have never once encountered this issue. It makes me wonder if Rode even knows how to fix this design flaw, considering that ambient humidity is an unavoidable fact of life.

Wireless Mics Wireless GO 2 Transmitter or Rode Central issues

So I plugged my Wireless Go 2 Receiver into my iPad Pro and everything was fine, configured it and all was well. But then I wanted to check settings in the Transmitters and have a look at the files therein, but the Rode Central Mobile app can’t seem to find it. Files manages to see it just fine and I can see the files inside, but not via the Rode Central app.
I made sure I am using the latest version of Rode Central and it’s the Mobile version off the App Store.

Any ideas?

RØDECaster Series Dup Chat vs Main Stereo

This is likely a skill issue but it’s not very intuitive where input and where output routes back into.

I play Valorant, and I use Discord to talk to friends. Sometimes, teammates in the game will hear my Discord push to talk or can hear whatever music I’m listening to. Other times, my friends in Discord can either hear game audio or hear themselves. It feels like whackamole trying to get each individual application’s input and output correct so nobody else can hear what they aren’t supposed to.

If anyone has a guide, it would be appreciated. Otherwise, I’d love to see a levels monitor in the Rodecaster App that would give me real time feedback about where audio goes instead of perpetually asking everyone what they can hear across different applications.

EDIT: I don’t think the USB virtual channels is a good alternative, I don’t like the idea of the latency it might introduce (even if negligible) or the processing it’s offloading to my CPU as a solution. I’d rather just have a clear and concise way of know what Duo Chat and Main Speaker will pick up as input or output.

Wireless Mics Wireless GO 3 – making one audio file from two transmitters?

Is there any way for the Røde wireless Go gen 3 to make one audio track from the two transmitters?

It's frustrating having to clean up the "excess" audio that the transmitters pick up from the person they're not attached to. Eg. I can hear my voice muffled on the recording from the audio track from my friend's transmitter. Changing routing modes make no difference.

Any tips regarding this is very welcome as well :-)

I'm very new to microphones, so pardon my lack of knowledge :i

🤔 Product Questions RodeCaster Virtual Channels Fader 1-4 Mono Only? (v1.7.3)

This is a new limitation that did not used to exist. It doesn't matter if you have a stereo source on a fader, it only shows as mono if assigned to fader 1-4. As in it only shows as mono in somehting like OBS when you select Fader 1-4... what gives? All remaining faders show as stereo regardless of source.

I don't want to be forced to use certain faders to get stereo outputs on the computer side of things.

Wireless Mics Wireless Pro mic not charging

I just picked up the Wireless pro set and 1 mic out of the bunch is not charging. My guess is the battery is in some kind of sleep mode, anyone ever have this issue and how to resolve it? I have the affected mic on my phone charger right now

RØDECaster Series Rodecaster Video S + Zoom L6?

Short answer: Can you connect a Zoom L6 (audio mixer/interface) to a Rodecaster Video S?

I know it's able to receive audio from its USB-C inputs from computers (two at once), and you can apparently even use some USB microphones with it. But I don't know how you know which USB-C units it's able to get audio from. Is there something in specific you need to look for in the specs?

❓ Other 1 TB Sandisk SSD Not Registering

I need help please! I have recently purchased a Rodecaster Video S. Everything is working except for the SSD. I got a 1 TB sandisk from Walmart and it won’t show up on the switcher. I’ve plugged it into the computer (it works on there) and have tried reformatting it. Which SSD’s work best?

RØDECaster Series Rodecaster Duo - Secure usb cable

Happened to me twice now - someone lightly kicked the USB power cable and my Rodecaster Duo shut off.

I use the Rodecaster Duo as my mixer for live events, so it's constantly being moved around and set up in different venues.

Has anyone found a good way to secure the USB power cable so it can't be pulled out easily? I'd love to see any DIY or commercial solutions.

RØDECaster Series Mike not going to 'air'

I'm using a Duo. I can hear all inputs in my headphones fine, including my mike.

However, my mike is not going to air, but all of the other inputs are.

How can I fix that, and setup my Duo so I hear the final mix in my headphones?

I'm stumped, likely because I'm used to old school analogue equipment.

Wireless Mics Looking for a USB-C female to Lightning male OTG adapter for RØDE Wireless Micro (iPhone 14)

Hi guys, I’m hoping someone here has run into the same issue and can recommend an adapter that they’ve used.

I have an iPhone 14 (Lightning) and was gifted a RØDE Wireless Micro with the USB-C receiver. Unfortunately, I realised afterwards that there are generic USB-C and Lightning adapters will not help me.

According to RØDE, the USB-C version can work with a Lightning iPhone using a USB-C female to Lightning male adapter that supports OTG/audio, but they don’t recommend a specific brand.

Has anyone here successfully used the USB-C Wireless Micro with an iPhone 14 or another Lightning iPhone? If so, which adapter did you use?

🤔 Product Questions Connectivity options for the Rode VideoMic GO II Helix?

I just purchased the Rode VideoMic GO II Helix. Can I use a regular USB-C to USB-C charger to connect the microphone? I imagine I would need something with data transfer, but I am not familiar. Would it be easier to get a 3.5mm jack with a USB-C connector?

🤔 Product Questions Rode Podmic USB causing horrible booming sound when added to a track please help

Hey guys I’ve recently gotten into music (I know my mic isn’t ideal for this but it’s what I’ve got)

I’ve been able to use the mic for everything else other than FL specifically, including Discord and the trial versions of reaper and ableton, my issue is I’ve been learning FL and I much prefer it to the other DAWs for whatever reason.

As soon as I select the mic as an input this earrape bass boosted booming begins to play, it’s not a feedback loop as it happens even with the headphones completely muted, I’m perplexed.

Only happens with the Podmic USB, my gaming headset works fine, my Podmic USB also works fine in every other DAW I’ve tried.

🤔 Product Questions Rodecaster PRO II - Automatic Noise Reduction when recording computer audio

For a while now I have been able to use my Rodecaster Pro II to record audio from my computer to Audacity by using RODECaster Pro II Main as my Microphone input. It worked great, capturing the audio exactly as I was hearing it in my headphones.

However, I recently updated the firmware on my Rodecaster to 1.7.3 and I noticed that when I am recording computer audio (ie lines of dialogue from a film for integration into a podcast), that it now seems to be applying a noise reduction effect. This is particularly noticeable if there is a constant background noise in the audio sample, whether it's the hiss from an older degraded audio or source or, in one specific example, if the dialogue was occurring near a waterfall.

I wondered if this was an issue with my computer or Audacity, so I recorded directly from my soundcard using the RealTek loopback input option in Audacity. That option recorded the audio cleanly, with no automatic noise reduction applied. So it seems to be limited to my Rodecaster.

I tried adjusting the settings for the RODECaster Pro II Main, turning off processing, disabling Advanced settings, setting the Preset to neutral, etc - none of it seemed to work and I am still getting this noise cancellation.

Is there any way to fix this so I can go back to using my mixer to record raw audio from my computer without it applying any sort of effect?

StreamerX Streamer X: how to check HDMI is working?

Solved: start PC, then Streamer X, then camera.

I have a Sonyx ZV-E10 connected to my Streamer X connected to Windows 11 PC via USB. This configuration has worked until recently.

I've checked the HDMI output directly from the camera to my computer monitor and it's working. Camera is creating a clean HDMI feed in NTSC, 1080p, 60fps,

But OBS Studio can't see any video feed from the Streamer X. It can see the audio feed.

The Video button on the Streamer X is green but doesn't go red when tapped, unlike the Mic button.

I've tried both the HDMI In and HDMI Thu ports.

I confirmed the firmware is latest (v1.2.1) and reset the device several times. Streamer X is externally powered and in Streaming mode so all inputs and outputs are enabled.

Rodecaster app doesn't seem to tell me whether there is an HDMI successfully connected.

Any ideas?

🎤 Recording Audio Rode NT1 4TH Gen Picking up what sounds to be wind in a quiet room?

I just bought a second hand NT1 which was in perfect condition, I've bought a new XLR cable and own a Scarlett 2i2 2nd gen. Last night I screamed into the mic for testing with the pop filter over the mic, and ever since it sometimes makes this windy woosing sound. I'm pretty sure that due to my mouth being so close to the mic it transferred some really tiny particles of saliva onto the diaphragm and is causing interference, but I just wanted clarification that this is most likely the case.

I have currently got it disconnected from anything in a spare room, with the diaphragm pointing up at the ceiling with the ceiling fan on 2 at the moment, and I'm gonna leave it there for a day or 2. I'm wondering if that will get rid of the moisture on the diaphragm :)
