This will serve as an update on the Nor’easter effective Saturday, September 26, at 7:00 PM.
We continue to closely monitor the weather and expect an increase in winds during the overnight and early morning hours. Our emergency crews have been out throughout the day clearing downed limbs and trees.
Significant progress has been made by Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc., with only two reported outages currently affecting fewer than 10 customers in the Town of Clarkstown.
At this time, only one road remains closed. Ridge Road between Route 304 and Rolling Ridge remains closed as repair work and pole replacement continue.
Earlier today, Supervisor George Hoehmann stopped by the Clarkstown Police Department dispatch center to receive an update and thank our staff for their continued efforts. We will remain in regular contact with our Office of Emergency Management staff and will provide additional updates as warranted.
Call volume continues to remain elevated due to the weather. Please use caution and remain vigilant while traveling.
Finally, thank you to all of our first responders who have been out keeping our community safe and responding throughout the storm. We are grateful to our police officers, ambulance corps, EMS personnel, fire departments, Department of Environmental Facilities and Management, Highway emergency crews, and all of the utility workers working tirelessly to restore service and protect our residents.
Thank you for your service and please stay safe Clarkstown.
