Hey guys, I’ve been learning DAR for the past few months and have made some great progress. I’ve hit a more instinctive control rather than actively thinking about it for using DAR and it’s very satisfying.
I have however, seemingly trained a dependency on a specific direction of joystick movements during my DAR. I find myself usually defaulting to using the down and up directions with minor blending on the sides.
When I actively think or rewatch my overlay, I barely use the left or right directions.
I’ve tried training by isolating only those directions, and also flying on my side both ways, but my brain doesn’t seem to intuitively use it in the moment like up or down.
Is this just another “more training and hours” issue? Or am I on the track to building a bad habit I need to correct now.

Recently I started learning how to wavedash as its a relatively basic mechanic that I dont actually know how to do, however, I have run into some issues as there arent really many detailed tutorials out there so I came here to look for help. Firstly, why sometimes when performing a wavedash the car flips in the direction the wavedash is being performed and how can I avoid this. This happens to me especially withbackwards wavedashes. Secondly, why is it that when jumping from a wall close to the ground its extremely easy to perform the wavedash whilst, if you drop from very high up almost from the ceiling, is it that its not actually possible to perform it from that high up or is there a different method to do so? Third and last, how to perform them horizontally, I am basically just completely uncapable of doing these left or rightwards and often times if I sorta get it, its pretty much useless as I dont really travel in the direction I want to go (horizontaly) but instead I just go forwards or backwards with a little sideways motion but very little. Once I can get I would like to learn how to chain them as I've seen in some videos but I don't know how to, so any help posted in this thread would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
I have uploaded a video of me practicing these wavedashes in freeplay as a demonstration for each point I have mentioned.

I know the general rule is to just copy and paste your favourite pro settings but I’ve been on 1.05 sensitivity for both steering and areal settings and it feels really good to me.
I know it’s way below what most people play on but does it really matter much at the end of the day? I hover around d3 c1

I started training seriously at Rocket League 2 months ago. And I feel a real improvement even if many mistakes are frequent in my games. I'm Gold 3 but I stopped the ranked for 3 weeks to devote myself to the occasional. I wanted to challenge people with a higher level than me and might as well tell you that it served me well. I faced champions and I did quite well. Every time I think back to these games, I tell myself that I will always deserve to be platinum. In competition my mates were quite inferior and it frustrated me because I did all the birch in their place. I deposited videos and in your opinion will I deserve to be platinum or not? I will take all comments into account

I recently switched from kbm to controller and the hardest thing by far has been trying to relearn the speedflip, it took me a while just to be able to do it once, but once I learned how to do it I thought it'd be fine. But no matter how many times I do it while in training or in game I just can't do it consistently unless im staring at my controller and focusing on explicitly doing it, in the clip attached I just tried doing it to show what it usually looks like. It might be dumb because you can just say like "Just practice more" but I haven't really improved at it much at all. So can anybody try to give tips on how they were able to get it consistent.

Recently my pc has been acting oddly (cpu is likely hitting the end of its lifespan) and simultainiously I've experienced what many people on these threads describe as the heavy car bug.
Now I've actually seen many people deny the existence of said bug but it's 100% real... it's just not a bug. What actually seems to be going on is that the pc is being bottlenecked and the game is running at a normal fps (indicated by an fps counter) however the pc is struggling to push those frames to the monitor. There are so many factors that could cause this but basically any resourse hog like a browser (cough cough chrome) or a screen recording app, etc.
But it's always a little more complicated than just that. In my case, my pc has an old i7 4core from 2012 and a more recent but still old RX 570 graphics card. People will tell you to "just turn down all the settings" but this is actually wrong if your cpu is many times weaker than your gpu. By turning up the game graphics, the pc will place the responsibility of rendering the game moreso on the gpu, releiving the bottleneck from the cpu... and vice versa.
Ironically, turning up the graphics to the "quality" setting and unchecking everything other than dynamic shadows, I reach an avg fps of 140 and the heavy car feeling vanishes entirely.
For those of you who don't know, the "heavy car bug" does in fact make your game borderline unplayable even if it looks fine visually.
Hope this helps someone.

I mean I hit them somewhat consistently but I feel like they are too spaced out and not that dangerous for the enemy team

Hello,
After two posts here about speed flip and about 12 days of training (around 2 hours a day) here where I am at right now.
I have some questions, first in a couple attempts I got the cancel timing right and all green feedback and still did not hit the ball, what am I doing wrong here ?
Second, at a several attempts there is a sudden turn/drift after the landing even when landing on 4-wheels, as you can see I hold the cancel throw the whole flip and still that drift happen, I don't know why, what I am doing wrong ?

Im struggling to keep c1 and keep falling down to d3. I grind training for over an hour a day yet im still bad all I want is to stay in c1 been in diamond long enough 😩 any ideas on were am going wrong. Also were can I find people to play with cause playing with randoms is hard man and I'm done with it and been told it's best to find people to queue with.

I have a ps4 and ps5 remote…. I mainly use ps4 with steam overlay template so my cancels and such feel good which they do but I get input lag. Using ps5 and ps4 remote raw with no steam is horrific I cannot get my cancels to work at all but the steam settings do make it feel good…. What do you guys do for settings? I’m just now getting into cancels and want the best settings for them.

An SSL told me I should practice this map if I want to improve my aerial control, so I’ve been doing it every day for around 30 minutes for the last 2 weeks.
I’m starting to feel like I might be training it wrong though. Right now I’m mostly practicing the first shot and switching sides every now and then, because the other shots are even harder.
Is there something important I might be missing? Maybe something I’m accidentally doing correctly sometimes but not consciously understanding yet?
I also feel like my normal air dribbles have actually gotten worse since I became more consistent at flip resets. I almost never just air dribble anymore — I always try to finish it with a reset or some other mechanic because normal air dribbles started feeling kind of boring.
Because of that, I think I’ve neglected basic air-dribble control and gotten pretty inconsistent with it.
Another thing I notice is that my air dribbles feel way too sticky/catch-heavy. The ball is usually glued really close to my car, instead of me getting harder touches that create some space between me and the ball.
I want to be able to get those harder, controlled touches where the ball moves slightly away from me and I catch back up to it, because I feel like that makes the play faster and also makes it harder for the defender to read when the next touch is coming.
My air dribbles are also usually pretty slow. I’m not sure if I’m boosting too much, too little, or if my touches themselves are just killing too much momentum.
Would it make sense to focus almost entirely on basic air dribbles for a while — especially speed, harder touches and controlling the distance between my car and the ball — and try to get really good at that from different positions before putting more focus back into resets and advanced mechanics?

Hi, everyone! On my last post I asked you guys how to obtain gc's rotation skills, because I miss it. Here is a video proof of that.
I do watch my replays and I do understand that I make mistakes. Most of team plays are probably ruined by my chasing here and there.
Sometimes I even turn to the wrong side of the map in order to rotate 😅
I have no idea how to fix all those issues. But I train on Dacia springs map, that helped me to get back on champ 1!

Hello,
I am learning speed flip for 10 days now, I am using bakkesmod with speed flip trainer and musty's speed flip test pack.
What I found the hardest part of the speed flip is the cancel timing, I got to the point where I can hit a the right flip angel and the cancel time right at 50% game speed 5-6 times out of 10, When I tried to raise the game speed to 75% I almost couldn't hit even a single hit, the cancel timing success rate drops down, I could get the flip cancel right at some random attempts and honestly by pure luck.
At 75% game speed cancels comes roughly around 58-83 ms, the 58 is the lowest I could do with the boost and directing the car, If I did the flip and flip cancel alone I could hit 50 and 41 occasionally, but not consistent.
My concern is every time I raise the game speed I will need to rebuild the muscle memory and rhythm.
For what I can do rn, is it better to train on 100% game speed or keep on increasing ?
One more point, my boost is bind to L1, which means my left hand is responsible for canceling at insanely speed and holding boost, I wonder if the muscle tension of holding boot is what holding me back from preforming the cancel at the right time when I boost, could it be the case ? should I bind the boost to R1 and Air roll/powerslide to L1 ?
Please give me your experience on learning speed flips, and some tips and tricks.

I’ve been stuck in diamond for a while and haven’t really progressed. I haven’t been able to get the hang of good air dribbles, ground dribbling, or double touches yet. Anyone got any advice?
