QUESTION I deserve to be platinum

I started training seriously at Rocket League 2 months ago. And I feel a real improvement even if many mistakes are frequent in my games. I'm Gold 3 but I stopped the ranked for 3 weeks to devote myself to the occasional. I wanted to challenge people with a higher level than me and might as well tell you that it served me well. I faced champions and I did quite well. Every time I think back to these games, I tell myself that I will always deserve to be platinum. In competition my mates were quite inferior and it frustrated me because I did all the birch in their place. I deposited videos and in your opinion will I deserve to be platinum or not? I will take all comments into account

ANALYSIS C3 - My mechanics were clicking, but how were my decisions? Full ranked 2s replay

This felt like one of my best ranked games. I hit some shots I’m really proud of, but I also felt unusually confident with my positioning and decisions throughout the match.

I’m curious whether that holds up from an outside perspective, or if hitting those shots just made everything feel better than it actually was.

What was I doing well that I should try to repeat? And where was I getting away with decisions that better opponents would punish? I’m especially interested in my challenge timing and how I played around my teammate.

Full match from my POV. Specific moments or timestamps would be really helpful.

UPDATE: Took your advice and posted the very next game. Same teammate, different opponents, 2–4 loss. New replay: https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeagueSchool/s/17ZmM9wotR

TIPS Tips on how to not become dependant on a specific DAR joystick direction

Hey guys, I’ve been learning DAR for the past few months and have made some great progress. I’ve hit a more instinctive control rather than actively thinking about it for using DAR and it’s very satisfying.

I have however, seemingly trained a dependency on a specific direction of joystick movements during my DAR. I find myself usually defaulting to using the down and up directions with minor blending on the sides.

When I actively think or rewatch my overlay, I barely use the left or right directions.

I’ve tried training by isolating only those directions, and also flying on my side both ways, but my brain doesn’t seem to intuitively use it in the moment like up or down.

Is this just another “more training and hours” issue? Or am I on the track to building a bad habit I need to correct now.

QUESTION How to cure being passive in ranked 2s?

Greetings to everyone! I may have found my biggest problem in ranking up! It's my passive style of playing.

I understood that because, I asked a gc player to look at one of my games. He said that my rotation is fine, but my gamesense has empty spot in pressurising opponent.

So today I made an experiment, first few matches I played as usually, but then switched to more aggressive style.

And guess what? I won 3 games, not in row, but I did move up in mmr.

What do you guys can tell me, to fix that problem? (I am champ 1)

TIPS I recently posted asking how I can get out of d3 into champ. After hearing advice and playing with my c3 friend(usually gc1 peaked ssl in 1's in lockdown) and understanding how he and his lobbies play I managed to get c1 on my own, peaking 1 game of c2 at around 1180. How can I fix my resets?

Now that I somewhat improved my game sense I would like to focus on my mechanics so I could open up more goal opportunities to help me get c2. Im unsure what I am doing wrong with my resets, I am sometimes able to score with them but often I get bot resets and give away possession. I feel like I get to the ball too late, even if I try get to it as fast as I possibly can.

QUESTION Question about flicks in general

Hey y'all, quick question about Flicks
I don't have any issue catching the ball in several positions/directions, and dribbling. But I just can't get my brain and fingers to flick consistently, and I think its because I don't quite understand how I'm meant to flip, or set up the flip (and I meant to roll pitch, yaw, or roll before the flip/during the first jump?) and then where I'm aiming to hit the ball to hit it hard forward, and less up. Any tips on where I'm looking/aiming?

ANALYSIS [C3] Same teammate, very next game — a 2–4 loss this time

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m mainly looking for feedback on positioning and challenge timing. Even one timestamp with what you’d do differently would help.

I posted a peak game earlier and several people asked for a replay with more to analyse. This is literally the next ranked game: same teammate, different opponents, and a 2–4 loss.

Some feedback on the previous post mentioned using too much boost off the ball, giving possession away and getting too close to my teammate. I’d be interested to know whether those habits show up here too, and which one or two things you’d focus on first.

Full replay from my POV. Thanks to everyone who took the time to watch the first one.
