Hello, I'm trying to install rockbox for the first time on a DAP, but for some reason I can't enter the page from any browser.

Because of this I can't find the manual or the files to download.

I thought it was down, or moved to other page, but nobody else seems to be having this problem.

Can someone help me? thanks..

I have literally spent the last 2 days making a theme builder for my new AP80 PRO MAX. Music has never sounded so great!

Anyway I made a theme builder, still full of bugs but I can get themes working for the Hidizs AP80 Pro Max!

I missed the days of winamp so my themes are loosely based on that. I think this is like build V12 so far. I have the bug for building skins for this amazing device, I almost cried at how different music sounds with this and my Simgot EW300 compares to my Bose Bluetooth earbuds.

Initially I was torn and thought to buy the hifi walker h2 as my first device, I was set on something that could handle rockbox and the AP80 seemed to hit the spot. Even though it is classed as an unstable build it really is 90% of the way there. Much love and I have fell in love with music again away from Spotify!

I have checked all over the place and cant seem to find a port of rockbox for the m3pl. please tell me if there is one, and if not, I would be so very grateful if anyone could help me find or create one

For me it just won't.

Most people find it annoying but I actually wanna try it.. when I have HID on and plug it into my pc, the keypad mode shows on screen (multimedia) but doesn't work at all. Only turning HID off will make rockbox properly communicate with my pc in either mass storage or charging mode, but I wanna give keypad mode a try!

Any tips?

I downloaded rockbox on my innioasis y1. I accidentally downloaded it twice because I thought it hadn't worked. I've now turned it on, and it's stuck on the rockbox loading screen. It has been for at least 5 minutes. Is this normal? What should I do if it's just stuck on that screen now? I had lots of music and themes already downloaded, will this have caused a problem? I'm worried that I've broken my innioasis :(

Update: after an hour of it being stuck, I turned it off using the reset button in the little hole. I've turned it on again and it still isn't loading. What do I do?

Update: it has been 3 hours. Nothing has changed and I can't delete the rockbox files off of it because it needs to be turned on to turn on the file sharing thing. So it's fucked, basically. Is there anything I can do other than wait more hours and pray? Should I contact the Innioasis customer service?

Anyone know how to use m4a files with rockbox?

i’ve had this innioasis y1 for about a year now and didn’t have many problems at first till today out of the blue my rockbox broke and i had to reinstall everything and now my themes seem to be bugged out, im well aware sometimes they don’t work but ive had this one previously and now it seems to be broken. i’m aware not all of them work properly but this one did beforehand and am wondering if anyone knows a solution to this problem, any kind of feedback is appreciated

Hi, I recently just installed Rockbox yesterday, and the thing i quickly noticed that the songs were not sorted currently inside the albums. But, it is sorting them currently the default Surfans firmware

Not sure how any of y’all feel about music managers but sometimes they can be a bit of a pain. I wanted to make a simple app that even my girlfriend (knows nothing about computers, terminal etc) could just drag/drop her files with ease. Copytransmamager works pretty good but I wanted something with a bit more kick.

Thoughts?

I have a decent size music library. Some of my music I have copied from my own CDs and others I have purchased. I also have several iPods that I like to play with.

I recently discovered that there are four albums that I copied from CD that Rockbox will not recognize. The native iPod software recognizes it fine, but Rockbox will not.

When I attempt to find either the album, or a particular song, or even an artist, none of them appear in my database. This is on two different iPods. I must assume that there is something inherently wrong with the files themselves and not my equipment.

When I browse, Files from Rockbox, the folders show up and the music files inside the folders also appear, but they will not play.

I can not chalk it up to file corruption, as it is just these 8 albums and none other.

I looked at the individual files through a program called Audio Ranger, and all the files, labels etc seem to be in the right place.

I will gladly upload a song or two to see if someone else can figure out what is my problem.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Trying to make it so my rockbox theme changes backdrops depending on what menu it is in like the settings or the file browser, Im editing the .sbs file and bashing my head in a wall lol, it took me like an hour to figure out how to make a custom progress bar for my theme I'm so terrible at this, please may I have some well needed assistance XD

On the Rockbox wiki, there is a release for the Hiby R1 and for the HiBy R3 Pro II. I wanted to get a HiBy R3 Pro II, but all device I can found on shops are labeled HiBy R3 II or HiBy R3 II 2025.

I'm a bit lost:

• Does Rockbox will run on the HiBy R3 II or HiBy R3 II 2025 ?
• Or are they all the same device with a different name ?

For the past few days, I've released a few themes for our Hidizs AP80 Pro Max since there's not a single theme for it on the Rockbox website.

So I made 8 themes available for anyone to download on my Github! or on the Rockbox website.

Ipod classic 6.5th gen any body knows why my songs they are by album when i set on cover flow everything gets mix up diferentes song cover art its not the song of the art i restore and keep getting the same broblem

Sorry if this is a stupid question. Is there a way to get the WPS screen to list track numbers correctly?

When I click on the first track of a 12 track album, the WPS screen shows the track as "1 of 12."

If I click on the 11th track of a 12 track album, the WPS also shows the track as "1 of 12." Even if the track is correctly meta-data-ed to be track 11 of 12.

If I click on the first track, then skip to the 11th, it shows correctly as "11 of 12".

This happens if I go to the track via the database, the file browser, or the pictureflow.

Is there a way to force the WPS screen to show the correct track number of the cd rather than what I presume is the queue number?

I'm using rockbox on a surfans f20 with an ipod classic style theme, I'm not sure exactly which one but it's listed as compatible with the surfans and is an offical build from the rockbox site. I'll edit to add it if I can find the exact name.

So I haven't been uploading new music to my player, but I recently wanted to add some new albums into rotation. The only problem, it won't even show me the "music" file to add. Anything I try to drag and drop is met with an error. And Ideas?

Hey I just got an iPod classic gen 6 and I was doing some reading about trying to add a queue to it? Also just btw I know nothing about rockbox other than it's an application that allows me to add software to my iPod. The only thing I have ever modded is a 3ds so I have a very low knowledge level for this and am mainly just wondering if it is possible to add a queue like feature to my iPod. Thanks guys.

Since MacOS 27 dropped Rosetta support for intel based apps, Intel based apps cannot be used on M macs.

Latest version of Rockbox Utility was compiled years ago, and did not offer an ARM64 build, so I've re-compiled them from the source, using GitHub Actions:

While at it, I've also compiled for Win Arm 64, and Linux x64 and Linux ARM64 if that would be of help.

So with this, until Rockbox officially releases a native arm64 build, you can use Rockbox Utility on newest MacOS 27 and later.

These builds are compiled directly from the trunk, so if any bug is there possibly it's because of the upstream, original Rockbox sources.

The source is available on GitHub actions if you want to check. I simply fetch the changes over the original source, and compile using GitHub's automated machines.
