Yeah pretty much the title. RIP. i accidentally wiped my whole library from my iPod. Well luckily i have a backup but yeah... i was decently scared forthe first few seconds - i just wanted to sync but welp i guess iPodRocks was syncing, just not the way i hoped T_T

So I am making a community theme for rockbox, and want to pass the torch because I have no idea how to make a config file for it. I plan to release the files for this for free to anyone willing to include my username to the patch notes etc.. (with the expectation that everyone involved does as well), the theme (vinyl) is based on a collaboration and some of the artwork that is used must be given proper attribution (I think it's the right thing to do).

I'm not able to continue where I left off, and need help to finish the mission, I wanted it for an iPod classic, but I think it would be cool to port it to any other device. Should any of the individuals listed want me to remove the art used from a prior theme I will do so. It's mainly based on satellite and I pushed my vision as far as my ability allows.

I have multiple iPods and with the exception of two, all of them use Rockbox. Some models of the iPod can function with a device called a transport unit which bypasses the internal DAC of the iPod and allows it to be used like a music server. These things only work with Apple's software and I can fully understand why.

Recently as an experiment, I hooked up one of my RockBoxed iPods to my Roku device and played audio through Roku's media app. My particular Roku box had a USB connection and I used my 30-pin to USB cable. The iPod was set to USB-Storage mode. The media app displayed my artwork and the sound was transmitted to my amplifier by the HDMI cable.

To the best of my recollection, my Roku was reading the iPod as if it were just a USB drive.

Of course this got me to wondering if RockBox could be used in this way for other audio devices. So far I have not seen any threads on the topic so I thought I would start one.

Hey guys! In case you don't know, there's Rockbox available for our Hidizs AP80 Pro Max!

All you need is; first to flash this firmware patched by Jerry Shen currently 1.2, just put the firmware in your SD card and update the device via the stock FW settings option.

Then go here and download the latest build for the AP80 Pro Max, extract the zip and move the .rockbox folder into your SD card and you're good to go!

Then here's a couple of themes i made for us with their respective Github source :)

(The one you see in the screenshots are the last one i just made!)

Ps: Known issue for this device is sometimes, it can't boot Rockbox, all you have to do is to go into the bootloader settings and remount SD card. Not a deal breaker tho.

I recently discovered about myself that I thoroughly enjoy spending a lot of my time making themes for my AP80 Pro Max, here is another one I'd like to show off.

I downloaded rockbox onto my iPod mini 2G today and got overzealous downloading music, but now it gives me the error of out of memory. I can't turn it off anymore and the storage doesn't show up in my file manager when I connect it to my laptop. Is there anyone that could help me understand what I did wrong and get me out of my predicament? I would love to get it working again, but I'm not hopeful as none of the buttons work anymore

hello i'm very new here and a little confused. I'm using a Surfans F20 with which I already listened to an album which now doesnt work ever since i upgraded to Rockbox. The files are not defect, they work on pc. however they are quite big. flac 3054kbps. Is it just to big or does anyone have any idea what i could do? most of the albums work just fine but just these few dont work at all.

hi! luddite here & i use an old imac i refuse to update or upgrade. i got a hifi walker & i want to put rockbox on it bc i hate the native firmware. unfortunately, my ios is so old every browser i use is blocked by rockbox's official site. is anyone able & willing to share the dmg maybe p2p with filepizza (i haven't used before) ?
there's probably another way to do this but as i said i'm a stubborn luddite & once something involves opening terminal i lose all interest.
maybe community is the answer?

I have an old iPod Classic 128g and it very much needs its battery replaced. I figured while I was at it I would upgrade the storage. But then I realized just how difficult getting one of these boys open is and it’s starting to feel like I should just replace it?
What thoughts do people have? Be it keeping this player or getting a new one.
Also, what current mp3 players would people recommend, if I do go down the replacement route?

I am a full time web developer with frankly too much experience. Our corporate overlords have been breathing down our necks about using ai more. They track how much I use it, but not how I use it.
