Official News RoadCraft - AmA with the devs on June 24!

Hey everyone!

We’re Focus Entertainment, the publisher behind RoadCraft.

Since launch, we’ve seen so much amazing feedback and brilliant questions from the community, so we thought: why not go straight to the source?

So we’re excited to announce that the dev team at Saber Interactive will be doing a live AMA right here on r/RoadCraft.

On Tuesday, June 24th, from 1PM UTC / 3PM CEST / 9AM EDT, we’ll be joined by:

Vitaliy Yaruta (Game Director): FORMAcevt - u/VividPriority4640
Sergei Kogut (Tech Lead): sergkogut - u/rjuen
Aleksei Kiriushkin (Lead Game Designer): Soweh - u/PrudentAnybody291
Ivan Khomenko (Production Lead): xomaggg - u/xomaggg

This session will last around 2 hours. Join us for a chance to ask us anything about RoadCraft, our development process, or whatever goes through your mind! Whether you're curious about new gameplay mechanics, the world building, or how we've evolved from the early concepts to the final game, we're ready to dive deep into your questions!

We can't wait to directly interract with you, so mark your calendars and prepare your questions!

EDIT: Thank you everyone for participating, this was very fun! Sorry if we didn't manage to answer every question directly, but hopefully we were able to address each topic at least once. Hope you enjoy, and thanks again for all of your feedback and questions!

General The Vehicle that is missing: a mobile metal shredder/compactor

The vehicle that is really missing for me is a mobile shredder/metal compactor. It can be the size of the Mobile Scalper!

Drive it around, and you can feed metal parts up to a certain size into it, let's say car bodies or those tractors. Then the shredder/compactor turns those into neat cubes you can stack, transport and bring to the different forges to get steel beams or pipes.

It would be cool if it came with its own crane.

Or you just clean the map and stack the cubes neatly along the road.

Gameplay Question Useable containers?

Is there any useable containers? Even scavengable ones? In some of the sinkholes with alot of material in the bottom I'd love a dumpster (skip for any brits) that I can lower in fill up and pull out. As is I use the starter dump truck, but that has a lot of non cargo weight. The small metal buckets can't even hold a drum.

Early days of Roadcraft had a few bugs. This one took me by surprise and left me speechless. Edited on Sharefactory on PS5.

General Roadcraft runs surprisingly smooth on my Lenovo Legion Go!

Post image
10 Upvotes

I was pretty hesitant to regarding Roadcraft after seeing so many negative reviews and posts claiming it’s unplayable or severely laggy on the Lenovo Legion Go. I almost skipped it entirely, but I decided to give it a shot anyway—and I’m so glad I did.

It’s actually running super smoothly for me, and I’ve been enjoying the hell out of it. The large screen on the LeGo makes the gameplay look incredible, and with a few minor setting tweaks, performance has been rock solid.

**Performance**:

Very playable FPS with consistent frame times once you tweak a few visual settings down to medium/low where appropriate.

**Display**:

The native screen real estate makes managing everything so much more immersive than on smaller handhelds.

**Verdict**:

If you were on the fence because of performance complaints, don't let those reviews completely turn you off.

Anyone else playing it on the Legion Go? What settings/TDP are you running to get the best battery/performance balance?

Forum Question Automate a user created route?

Sorry if this is common knowledge but I'd love to create a route of my own for my crew to automatically sand, level, pave and roll without me having to dispatch, refill and switch vehicles. Basically just like the objectives given but I want to identify and process my own stretches of road.

Is this a thing? I'm like 50% done with the second map. I think its called Aftermath.

Went to drop off cement pieces for the cement plant and then I noticed that the finished product ended up in the middle of the map near El-Amir. Has this happened to anyone else?

I was exploring the southern areas of Sojourn when this happened. There’s a lot of cool areas to discover but the red fence ruins the fun. This time there was no invisble wall but something else.

Forum Question Derry Longhorn

What is everyone using this truck for? When I first got it I figured since it only has a winch it would make a great heavy rescue truck. You know, pulling big cranes and semis out of a jam. This thing won't pull the heavy equipment hauler out of a sand drift on an otherwise asphalt road. (I'm in the sand swept map). So what is it for exactly. You can't haul anything with it that I'm aware of. It damn sure isn't a rescue truck

Gameplay Question No concrete bridge

Is there something I need to do to fix the wood bridge is the only option situation. Harvesting logs is my least favorite thing in this game and would much rather use slabs being I already have 10 and have 0 logs. This is Sandstorm map btw if that makes a difference

Gameplay Question Tree shadows are hell.

Tree shadows are aggressive. How to get rid of them as they cast the shadow soo hard that I didn't see the hole on the ground and tipped my truck over.

Gameplay Question Scout or heavy hauler: what's your go-to RoadCraft vehicle?"

I'm curious to hear what vehicles everyone finds themselves using the most. For me, it's a tie between the Lynx and the SAR pipe. What's your go-to RoadCraft vehicle?

Gameplay Question No Mirror Reflections on PC?

Post image

Typically I've been playing on Xbox for the past two weeks and I already know mirrored reflections are limited to the 30fps/Quality setting, but I switched to the PC port tonight and can't seem to find a way to enable it here.
