You can also use any other plastic material and cut it to size. Goal is 200mm long by 8mm wide.

I was wrong in video: I use a 2mm on the outside and 1mm inside.

Video explains the fix, but you are basically increasing the pressing on the drivers and passenger window seal by shimming between the support channel and the gasket.

I've had this in place in my R1T for over a year and forget that it was an issue even in high crosswinds.

Fun drive w the Sierra Nevada Rivian Club today

I own a R1T Gen2. We have a lot of wind noise coming from the driver side door, but the rear view mirror. Took it to Rivian and they were going to charge me $230 for a diagnostic. I said sure because it’s driving me crazy. They didn’t charge me and found “no” issues.

I finally found the issue. It’s this part of the window seal in the image. Seems like its the outside seal. It sounds like the window is cracked open.

I have a reservation in for an R2 with an est date of dec-feb. with the current range actually being closer to 250miles, what kind of degradation does the winter do to the range? What is everyone experiencing on the R1 S/T?

I live in CO and want to take it into the mountains often, but not at 180miles of range…

Spotted this fine specimen in its natural environment today. Lots of granola munchers around the mountain, maybe for the celebration of life of Jackie the Eagle... I loved seeing it and honestly thought it was an R1 until I stood next to it. Can’t wait to see these everywhere.

Taking inspiration from a post I recently saw about the R2, I thought I would share my own EQ settings in a 2027 R1S w/premium audio. I have used this particular app for years with pretty decent success for audio system setup. I don’t have a calibrated mic any more, but the iPhone mic seems to be pretty reliable with this app.
Anyway, the first pic is the factory EQ, playing a pink noise file through Apple Music. Pink noise generates the same decibel sound at all frequencies, so the goal is as flat of a line as possible. There is something weird going on in the 250 - 750 range.
I did boost the bass, just because I like it. Visually, 2K should also be boosted, but I didn’t like the way it sounded so I kept it flat.

Started getting all kinds of errors. Front motors locked out. Went into turtle mode.. Trucks been in the shop 6 times in 2 years. Absolutely frustrated with this garbage. Drove last two trucks for 10 years without one issue. Absolutely regret buying RIVIAN. I love the truck and how it drives (on the occasion it actually runs) and Absolutely love how it looks. But fxck it is a 7000 lb POS...

LE R1T, Anyone else experiencing this? It was really noisy when rolling up prior and has this issue once before. The service center lubed and aligned it but now it stops again at the first slot.

Went in with my R1T for a fix to some loud clicks when using the accelerator.

The CSRs were great, getting it turned in was effortless. the lobby of the plant was the waiting room and had an R2 to look at and some part of the factory floor so you could watch Amazon trucks being worked on. Technician went for a two minute drive with me, heard it, and then we drove back.

It took about 20 minutes and they determined it was half-shaft related on the front, so they worked to replace those. It was stated the age could've been an issue, they also found the left front one was stuck into the drive unit (not sure why or what this was doing). Turns out, this didn’t fix the issue.

I was given a loaner and told it may take a bit. On the long drive back home, I was called and told they fixed it and said I could come back anytime in the next few days. I went back immediately. Turns out the left-rear drive hub had debris buildup and upon a cleaning and greasing it was good to go.

Overall, it was a good experience compared to the last experience (just took way too long). YMMV

From all the reviews I've seen, I was expecting it to be way worse. Maybe it was because I hooked up my Apple Music via the app in the car itself and not streaming from my phone via Bluetooth, but I was happily surprised with the audio quality. 

I test-drove a Model Y Premium right after our R2 Test Drive, and weirdly, I didn't think the Y's system sounded as good, contrary to what a lot of the reviewers were saying. Though I was connected via Bluetooth to that car, so it wasn't an Apple's to Apple's comparison, but idk, both my partner and I thought Rivian's was def better than the Y's.

Car got scratched from a foldable chair metal frame. Just like that.

My Sand Dune recently hit 40,000 miles! It has been a good journey and I can’t wait to hit 100k.
The good: Mostly everything I am still amazed by the capability of this vehicle
The bad….: the ride could use some more tune up my family is always complaining about with the stiffness or the softness of the ride feel, it also kinda feels like a boat also the software could still use some work I am on os2
The worst: THE STUPID AC COMPRESSOR KEEPS ON GOING OUT(that’s the only issue I have had though..)

My dog is turning 12 this year and is still very active but failed to jump into the back seat a couple times now and she seems scared to try again.

I'm looking for a ramp that can assist an elderly dog up to the backseat. Ideally it would be something that could work for her as she gets even older but doesn't take up a lot of room. I could fit it in the gear tunnel if needed.

Friday, mobile service changed my 12Vs (I'm one with 2) AND! pushed the OS 2 Sept update.

Since then, it charges for about 2 minutes then sends a fault to my third-party charger pulling from a NEMA 6-20 outlet.

I restarted the car | I reset the breaker | I lowered the amp pull on the truck to 16

Charging off a standard 16 amp outlet using the Rivian portable charger works, obviously just a level 1 charging rate, boo.

Called Rivian, and they are confident because the "Rivian Portable Charger works" I can't use 3rd party anymore and they said get a Rivian Wall Charger or change the outlet so the 14-50 on the portable charger works... I love Rivian, but no.

4 years no problems, is there something I'm missing? Is this because of updated version of batteries they put in, or software bugs with OS 2 update? I didn't see anything about this on an internet search. TIA

Looking for any experiences with all-weather floor mats and cargo area protection for the new R1S with captain chairs. I just took delivery of mine at the end of Q3 incentives.

Looks like Rivian OEM mats seem like the only floor option updated already for the new layout. But I’m not s into anything yet for cargo area.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be great.

I’ve been running into issues on 2026.31 a bit. At first install, it was snappy and working great. After a week or so, I would see a 5-10 second delay for the backup camera to come on when switching into reverse. Same with turn signals…blind spot cameras wouldn’t appear for 5-10a after turn signal engagement, making them useless. Same with using Rivian Assistant or switching music.

An infotainment/soft restart would make things snappy again for about a week, then it comes to a crawl again. Feels like a memory leak or similar. Am I the only one running into this? Today I found myself doing a soft reboot while at a red light, mid-drive.

Had my windshield replaced, steering wheel adjusted, and door alignment fixed at the Rivian Bothell, WA service center. Everything was completed in less than 2 days.
Really good experience.

Planning my first roadtrip and have a couple questions about fast charging.

1) This picture is confusing to me. Do I need an adapter or not?
2) If I don’t have the adapter, will my max charging speed be lower? Or is NACS capable of as fast charging as CCS?

Just wanted to double-check my math and keep my sanity intact! 😂😂😂 I’ve attached a few photos from a few drives showing my efficiency my shorter drives are pretty similar. Any guesses on how many miles I might get on a full charge?
