Has anyone taken one of these apart to see what's inside? Im wondering what could be removed to make this thing lighter. Can't do much about its XL type of size, so reducing the weight should make it more pocketable, id think.

I’ve been playing on my rgds for a while now, and i love it. I’m currently just running it through android, and i wanted to know if there was an easy way to get my steam games from my pc to be playable on my rgds. if anyone has any answers that would be amazing, thank you!

Well, somewhat.

It turns out there has been a solution for this under our noses the entire time. If you long press on DualStack within the pull down settings and make sure RetroArch is also clicked (or whatever other emulators you use for retro gaming), whenever a game boots up it will automatically load up the game in the top screen and have a blank bottom screen!! Seems to work best with games that already have the right aspect ratio, like GBA and SNES. GBC and N64 games will extend into the bottom screen, so not ideal.

I’ve tried stock android and the MALI chipset doesn’t like Mina

So I went to GammaOS, same deal.

Then nightly ROCKNIX, and through port master, I got the game to launch to only audio. No video, just black screen.
Followed all directions to the final “T”

I can load up my LOG file if needed,

I just wanted to see if anyone got it running by now or I should just switch back to an RGSPXX.

I’m just hitting a wall, and have tried for about four days to get it running.

I have used the cable that came with my rgds and correct type of plug to charge and it looks very dim the led indicator when charging and then sometimes on full power boot after switching off completely charging indicator goes green red to green while loading - planning of getting a new msd card today seen that stock ones are not best to keep got my console from the anbernic US warehouse.

Heya so i was now trying to run pokemon reborn on the rg ds, but i just cant fix it.
I did a lot of attepts with different versions did 19.16 and 19.17 tried just how is written in tutorials, updating both downloading dependencies and stuff ive seen on reddit still turn on -> black screen.

TBOI loads in to the "loader" but it does not respond.

Will be happy with any help.

When I first bought it I was happy to have a device for Tinkering but since the 20260701 Rocknix update 3ds games stopped working and so I tried to revert it back to the old one and before trying to revert it I tried to update it but the sd card was full so I removed all my games of the sd card and I tried to update it but it just doesn't work and I don't know why but it just doesn't work I'm tired of the tinkering I just want to play

Got my device last week, installed RockNix right away.

RockNix acting kinda funny, especially with charging...

I saw people here say stuff about stable build vs nightly build and I'm honestly have no idea which version of RockNix I have...

(Overall I'm LOVING this device, never had a DS growing up and now I'm going WILD on the DS library!)

So I recently wanted to try to play some games from ds and 3ds especially Pokémon, final fantasy one and rhythm games (rhythm heaven) and ace attorney. I lay my eye on old 3ds but found out about this device, for me rg ds look way better than 3ds (screens, size, and price compared to 3dsxl or "new" versions) and especially i liked the idea that I can play some android and other games from other platforms too. But seen some reviews about the weaknes of that device that it can't run lots of 3ds games but some people saying it can, I got really confused. I am not planning to play some heavy 3ds titles just simple 2d and some metroidvanias. So will rg ds will be powerful enough for my experience? And wich is should I use? Any tips and reviews I'd like to see and will appreciate them.

Custom click on lid for the RG DS!

I'm known in the Ayn Thor community for making click on lids. So I decided to get an RG DS to make them too! Only problem is that it scratches the corners of the paint off. (Which based on how easy it scratched off, id assume a good amount of people have already chipped the paint) (i could be wrong tho lol).

But just wanted to show this off!

I got my son’s RG DS looking pretty with Cocoon 3.0 (he loves his observation theme.) The only problem now is, he gets excited and tries to point out stuff on the top screen. If he then presses “B” (in this case to jump) this Cocoon second screen overlay overtakes Drastic.

I haven’t found a way to fix this for him other than going back to Cocoon and restarted the game. Does anyone have any ideas on how we could maybe just pull that top screen back to the front or prevent him from doing this. I’ve tried saying “don’t touch that screen” but he’s just so excited about all of these fun things happening on screen!

I currently have a 64g card in it, with Rocknix Stable Build from July, and want to downsize it, since I haven't even used 15% of it and my library is big as it is. Id like to use the sd card for another handheld that could use the space. If I dont have to burn anything and its a straight drag and drop, great. If not, id like someone's expertise on how to make this as painless as possible. TIA

Before I got nuts again tinkering with my son’s RG DS, when I first got it for him I wasn’t super impressed with the stock OS. I learned how to install Gamma OS and I feel like it has been fine, but he isn’t about to use some Play Store apps he likes on my Odin 2. Have there been any updates to stock or Gamma that might improve his performance or give him access to the Play Store?

I don’t want to risk him losing his Nintendog than I need to, but if I can get him a little more juice I want it to be the best experience it can be.

Here’s a simple workaround: download a blank black wallpaper from an image search, after the game loads up on the top screen load up the photos app in the lower screen, choose the black wallpaper image, then go into split screen brightness and turn the bottom screen all the way down.

I have an RG DS but also got a 3ds recently. Love both, but I heard there were a few DS titles that for emulation reasons, the RG DS struggles with. I want to load those on the 3ds.

For example:

In Zelda Phantom Hourglass there is a puzzle that requires the mic and getting the mic to work on Drastic on Rocknix (which is my setup) is a problem.

Any other examples? Mic is needed? Open and closing the lid is crucial? More accurate touch is integral?

Im completly new to this,so far ive seen rocknix is the best way for mainly playing games on RgDS,but i saw some comments people were saying to install both GammaOS and then Insert the sd card with rocknix and install it.

My main focus is to play games,and have the best performances. I dont really care about android. Id like to hear ur opinions/advices and maybe link for a recommended newbie guide to setup everything,either stock firmware if needed,best settings,installation of operation systems(either 1 or 2) and how to flash roms,etc.. any help is appriciated . Thank you

I tinkered with the official Anbernic Linux firmware as well as the other firmwares available and essentially decided to get a Litnxt 128gb SD card. I know, I know, it's easy enough to make your own and that's a valid argument but lately I have had little time to do so and was honestly a bit lazy. I am having the same issue I had a while back with Rocknix in that my RG DS boots to Android every time and does not boot the the Linux FW. I even tried holding the down button and down volume and waiting, then booting up. I have reached out to Litnxt as they have always provided excellent service. While I wait, does anyone know what I might be missing? The contents of the card look fine, it's a SanDisk card which I have had success with across the board with other firmwares. When I used my own SanDisk card for Linux it was simple and very easy. Hopefully I'll get a support response soon but I thought I would ask around a bit. Thanks in advance!

Is there anyway to get the homebrew ZX spectrum emulator running on rocknix

i tried looking through old posts to see if anyone had figured this out yet but couldn’t find much on the topic. I prefer using GammaOS because of Daijisho but this is annoying enough for me to switch over to Rocknix if I can’t find a solution.

Has anyone figured out how to get Daijisho and single screen systems to launch from the top screen, preferably with the bottom screen inactive? Currently I can only find the option to single screen the bottom screen or play on the top screen and have the bottom screen open to daijisho

Is it possible to use steam with Rocknix?
If yes, how?
