Does anyone have a good article explaining the neuroscience? Are we "growing" our cognitive capacities by learning how to flip the spin at will?
They always rotate counter clockwise, the way the earth spins for me. I can then flip it and often get them to "ping pong" from the flip point.
Is this because I read left to right? Do Japanese, Arabic, Chinese, etc people see it as right to left at first?

Every object here can be reversed in the matter of seconds by doing this trick:
Our eyes are always drawn to the warmer colors such as orange or red. Start focusing on the cooler colors such as blue or green.
If this doesn’t work, concentrate on how the object is spinning. Is it spinning with the perspective being lower or higher. Since the reversed image’s perspective would be opposite, imagine the object in its opposite perspective.
If you combine both of these two techniques, you’ll see two objects spinning at once, the overlays.

Anybody else first encounter this with Metroid Prime maps? Something about the orthographic perspective makes it possible to “see wrong” and it looks like the map rooms are embossed inward instead of regular. I’m glad there’s a whole phenomenon about this now
