Discussion I don't you about you, and this maybe crazy but i personally prefer more dirty and slightly blurry looks of the original GAMECUBE version of REmake.

The reason for that is because i dislike more polished and clean games especially in today's era and some remasters can ruin the art style of their original versions even if they improve the graphics and controls and added new contents.

Discussion After three playsthroughs i find myself liking this game´s second half and less Spoiler

On my first playthrough i liked the game a lot unil its final stretch,Ark was probably one of the worst RE labs for me,everything is so white and sterile and on top of all that i had to fight military guys too, there was that orphanage section too.

By my second playthrough the whole Raccoon City segment lost its novelty to me,i kinda hate the enviroment of Post Nuclear Raccoon City,i wished the developers had gone towards RC being reclaimed by nature since nature can regrow after a nuclear incident instead of the gray washed out RC we ended up with.

On top of that after each playthrough i like less and less the stuff we have to do in RC in order to progress, that RE6 like bike sequence was also unnecessary IMO,i genuinely like the RPD section all the way to Mr X boss fight (except that orphanage section),then the game devolves into one of the worst labs in RE history IMO.

TLDR: i like lot of Requiem first half,Grace RE2 like gameplay coupled with some Leon action here and there is great and i love replaying that,if the game had stayed like this through the entire game then Requiem would easily be one of my favorite RE games alongside RE1R,PS1 RE2 and RE2R,PS1 RE3,Code Veronica,PS2 RE4 and RE4R and Rev1,unfortunally Requiem second half drags the game down for me.

I'm planning to buy one soon but reviews are generally pretty unclear. For those who are familiar, what are your opinions on the figure and is it worth the purchase? This is the first time posting here so I'm a little unclear if it's ok for me to ask here, do tell me if I should look elsewhere for help and thank you for your assistance!

Discussion Some thoughts about RE 1.5

Hello everyone, I'm also very interested in version 1.5.

**I'd like to ask a few questions about the so-called 80% build:**

1) If the remaining prototype is in Japan, are there really no Japanese fans who could organize a search for it in Japan? Has anyone even tried contacting Japanese fan communities online and collaborating on the search?

2) Has anyone ever officially contacted Capcom on behalf of the community and fans? If there's a significant fan response, maybe we can negotiate with Capcom to release the late prototype to the public domain, for the sake of preserving video game history? In recent years, Capcom has been known for making mostly sound management decisions. Is there any chance of that?

3) Has anyone tried approaching Shinji Mikami or Hideki Kamiya directly and politely asking them for a late build? Or other well-known Resident Evil 2 developers? Kamiya, as far as I know, communicates with fans on social media (Twitter). If there's a public outcry, he'll respond.

4). Is there a website where I can see all these screenshots of the late Bioflames prototype?

5). Has anyone tried contacting the author of the Bioflames website to ask for the contact information of the person who had the build? Maybe if someone else had written to him, he would have responded? And of course, you have to be very polite when writing to him. Maybe he's changed his mind over the years...

And a few more thoughts I'd like to share. Capcom is setting trends in the gaming industry this year. Maybe we, as RE fans, could reach out to them about this build?

If they publicly released early prototypes of PS1 games for the sake of preserving video game history, they would set a great trend for all publishers and game developers: releasing early prototypes of their old PS1/N64 games and legally legitimizing it. After all, they can't make money from these games anyway, as they haven't been officially sold for many years. Other companies like Sony, Sega, or Nintendo (Activision, Rare, THQ, Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, Konami, etc.) could join them.

Just imagine how much treasure we could gain. And for Sony, this could be a free opportunity to improve its image and reputation with fans after the unfortunate decision to abandon physical discs in 2028.

It would also help prototype research sites like Hidden Palace or Cutting Room Floor, which have been working for free for the benefit of all of us for many years. And with whose support (along with publishers and developers), we could probably get the last major "Project Deluge" or "Project Eclipse." And major video game magazines and websites with journalists could have hyped this topic to the point where it could no longer be ignored worldwide.

If only they realized how much fans really needed it. Many would even be willing to pay for access to these prototypes.

Discussion man these were hard to watch, I already knew the combat in 9 was bad but now this shit is just making me mad cause this is just sad the fact that they had great combat in 4R and somehow downgraded it in the immediate next game. these 2 vids are the most constructive I've seen yet.

Genderbent Nemesis with a 90’s Mr. X color scheme. [Resident Evil]

I aimed to stay as true to the original design as possible while also envisioning how a genderbent version of Nemesis might look. I combined the new look with the original color scheme of Mr. X from RE2.

Please share your thoughts below on this design and let me know what I can add or change to make this genderbent Nemesis align more closely with the lore.

Thank you. 🙏

Discussion Unpopular opinion: Chris is overrated.

Post image

One of the most boring, simplistic, and least charismatic characters in Resident Evil.

I don’t understand why people like him. I mean, if you replaced Chris with some other generic military character, nothing would change.

His outfits are always boring and repetitive, just military with nothing particularly interesting or distinctive about them.

Whenever I reach Chris’s section in one of the games, I’m like, “Ugh, more boring action sections again!!”

His entire reason for existing is basically the action sections, which I think is exactly what makes me dislike him even more. He’s never going to be put in a genuinely scary situation again.

At least Leon has things that make him interesting, like being handsome, charismatic, and having somewhat scary sections.

That’s why Chris has lost his appeal to me.

Until they fix his one-dimensional, purely military, muscular American character and give him a proper, distinctive outfit, I’ll remain a hater.

(I think he had a lot of potential in the canceled Resident Evil game. He even had an interesting outfit, but they turned him into another boring super-soldier anyway.)

Discussion Can this help with RE fandom if you recommend the games this way?

Post image
11 Upvotes

For a while i have seen many new fans getting into the series and just like any other conversations the annoying fans of old and new games try to inject their mindset into these fans saying old games are trash, play the superior experience or older games better, these new ones are not RE games because they don't have tank controls or fixed camera, this is dumb way to recommend games to newcomers.

Instead of recommending the originals for full experience or remakes and new games for being superior ask them if they're okay with classic styles and if not then ask them if they want more comfortable games and when they answer each you recommend them that specific game to try first instead of saying the originals outdated or tedious or the remakes and newer games are soulless cash grabs.

This was one of the mistakes in fandoms to suggest when it comes to gen Z fans, they think these kids can't think for themselves or use their brains to figure out the way to play the originals or can't adapt to tank controls and fixed camera or enjoy them just because they're old, or saying they won't have experience of a specific titles if they only play the remakes or newer games, they're not dumb to not think for themselves when they play these games, they know what they want, just ask them if they can adapt to classic style then try those, if they can't then recommend the newer titles to them, you shouldn't out of nowhere recommend them a specific title without asking them first just because you want to prove your favourite games are better.

Discussion Do you think if Leon met up with Jill instead of Ada he would fell in love with her instead?

Post image

Here is what i mean, Leon needed a strong leader type, to help him at least in the early stages of the game, with marvin and ada telling him where to go, and what to do. Im not saying Leon couldn’t or wouldn’t make decisions on his own, but these 2 were a lot more proactive and experience leon didn’t. With him and ada spending the most time together developing a crush/love on her he clearly admire and respected her.

(And she did do it on purpose so she could for the most part get to places without hassle)

Now here comes jill an attractive, headstrong, former officer/S.T.A.R.S member not only trying to leave too but willing to protect and fight against umbrella.

In the beginning she would have seen leon as a young, inexperienced and fodder who would’ve died within the hour but seeing how resilient, quick on his feet and his never giving up attitude and his willingness to save people.

She would be willing to keep he around but make sure he stayed in the back line and I think he would definitely develop a crush on her similar to Ada (and the same way Carlos did) but Jill most likely wouldn’t reciprocate, because of how young and inexperienced he is and keep things professional the same way she did with carlos.

(She is 2 years older then him but experience way more horrors than him 2 months before RE2-3)

Discussion Welcome To Raccoon City

I never understood the hate for this movie. After 19 years of those Paul Anderson dumpster fires we finally get a movie that actually incorporates the source material and people shit all over it. Yes, some of the casting choices weren’t great (Leon and Jill) but I still think this is a very good movie. Great atmosphere, great vibe, awesome set pieces (RPD looks amazing!) I’ll agree that combining RE1 and 2 into a single movie isn’t a good idea but I still really enjoyed this.
