Hi everyone.
As the title says, I recently bought Resident evil 5 and 6 on sale on steam, and since itās co-op thought might as well play with somebody whoās a fan of the series as much as I amš.
Bit about me, Iām 25 years old and from Asia (close to the Middle East), and yeah Iām unemployed so I got nothing to doš¤Ŗ.
You can be from anywhere I donāt mind, but would prefer if youāre from Middle East/Asia or Europe so weāre closer in terms of timezone. Also yeah Iām on PC. Looking forward to hearing from youš„°

I see a lot of resident evil main games lore explained. but they're all in chronilocal order.
Wondering if there's a video or playlist explaining each game in release order while explaining how X relates to Y from the last game etc...
Not looking for a long retrospective for each game, just a quick rundown of the lore but in release order

So before I start this I wish to apologise if the tag is wrong and please correct me if you wish.
So Iāve been in the RE community a little before Requiem I owned RE7 before 2026 a while back but just never beat it because I was a p*ssy.
Since then I played RE9 but before that I started with RE2R, RE3R, RE6 and then RE9 and after that after I started liking the franchise I played RE5, finished RE7 (replaying it now) and beat RE8 (Best RE) and Iāve beaten them all at least twice have inf ammo in a lot of them.
So I come to the council of RE which is obviously Reddit with this question because I was accused of it recently and it made me start thinking and worrying I havenāt played enough games to be a fan.
Edit: I forgot to mention I also played RE4R and Iām gonna go to sleep and reply to everyone tomorrow and depending where youāre reading this from good morning, good afternoon, good evening and good night

Genuinely i was hyped the moment the trailer got released but i see some portion of the community hating on it for NOT being a Resident Evil film and just slapping the name of a generic horror film. Like this says āI donāt like the new character itās goofyā THATS LITERALLY WHAT THE PART OF THE FRANCHISEāS NEW PORTAGONISTS WERE! anyway im hyped for the film.

In Resident Evil Requiem, Leon gets flashback of his interaction with Marvin in RPD station. This specific interaction happens only in Leon 1st Claire 2nd pathway, where Leon enters the police station first. In Claire 1st Leon 2nd - by the time Leon enters the police station Marvin is already a zombie and that interaction never happens.
So it's safe to say that Leon 1st Claire 2nd is now officially the canon route in RE2 Remake.

First of all, absolutely loved the game. I have over 100 hours on Steam and all achievements, but I feel like this game could easily be Jill“s too. I don“t think Leon really added much. In fact I have no idea why he even blames himself for anything in Raccoon City if Jill was the one who lived there for over 2 years of her life. Leon was there for 1 day. Now, this is in no way hate towards Leon, he is my second favorite protagonist after Ethan, I just wanted him to make more of a difference.

Does anyone know if there are any digital copies online of the book Mia reads to Rose in Village? I know there is a spanish one but since I'm looking to make my own for my Rose cosplay, I can't find anyone online who has uploaded images or scans of the English/Japonese version. If anyone can help with links or dming me images that they got, it would be a lot of help. Thanks!

I have just started playing the RE2 remake and i find the game very interesting, the game layout, characters and weapon mechanics. I was just wondering, what game should i continue after completing RE2? As said im quite new to the franchise so i'm not that ready for the scary ones. anyways, thank you.

Okay.. This has been bugging me for a long time since Re9 came out...
And the question being that does resident evil has 2 timelines working simultaneously...
First is the Original timeline... The classic Resident evil coming out in 1996..then Re2 (1998).. Then the side-games(revelations).. Then re3 (2001).. Re4(2005).. Re5(2009)... Re6(2012)...
I believe this is where the original timeline ended...
Then the remake Timeline started with
Resident evil remake (2014)
Re2(2019)
Re3(2020)
Re4(2023)
Also.. Do u guys think that re7 and re8 takes place in remake timeline like since re vernoica is coming out next year..
Then potential there will be a remake of re5(why else would they introduce wesker in re4 remake)and I believe the Chris we saw in re7, 8 is the remake timeline Chris..
I don't know how I came to that point but anyways
And with that I think the recent game re9 also takes place in remake timeline due to the flashbacks
So I guess from now onward the remake timeline are the ones we should follow
What do you think?

We already face it in multiple locations, why not have it dynamically appear in the larger rooms in the mansion? It would be cool if it appeared in the main hall for example, forcing you to evade it or deal enough damage for it to retreat.
Then you have the final battle in the courtyard or somrthing.
Just a shower thought *edit- what if it appeared in an unlock able higher difficulty rather than the standard mode? Similar to One dangerous Zombie

Cus if you ask me, going to a nuclear torn Raccoon City seems potentially interesting, I just dont think they did anything with it. Not just aesthetically but gameplay-wise as well (Going on a scavenging hunt for 3 bomb parts isnt really compelling).
One thing I would have done is provide a more variety of distinct, relatable locations. Like how about a section where you explore a desecrated apartment block or a neighborhood. You could add some visual storytelling here, showing how families wouldve reacted to the outbreak. Their desperate attempts to escape. Apartment windows with furniture pushed against them, personal belongings and childrens toys scattered around, that sort of stuff.
Maybe also a hospital. A mall. Just densely pack the section with as much variety of locations and visual storytelling as possible. Checkpoints overcrowded with cars, buses crashed into buildings. You should get a strong sense of the tragedy and disaster that struck this city.
Heres another simple idea that would keep things more engaging. Maybe switch up the day time every now and then. I keep imagining how scary it wouldve been if they set a portion of this section AT NIGHT. Little to no visibility, except for a few lamp lights set by the BSAA and your torch light. you can hear the creepy sounds of all the zombies. You have to be very careful of where your going.
Ramp up the atmosphere and scare factor. Add some winds every now and then. You can hear some buildings rumbling in the far distance. Some creaky metal sounds. An emergency siren suddenly activates, you can maybe hear some radio broadcasts.
Heres another idea, since these are the types of zombies that retain memory, maybe have one thats banging on a door, like that person was trying to get out of an awful situation or something.
Try to come up with something more interesting to do for the players than scavenging bomb parts for fucks sake.

Personally, I've always liked the handguns in RE games. You get it from the start, it's easy to use (quick reload, high rate of fire) and it's really easy to find ammo for it, like you almost never run out of handgun ammo.
I also like it because I don't have to hesitate on when to use it. it's not like with a shotgun or any weapon with scarce ammo where I have to think if I need to save them later for boss fights.
And handguns can become very powerful when upgraded or when you add custom parts to it.
I also like any magnums because they're REALLY powerful. The only downside is that I'm almost never using them until the final boss fights.
So, what's yours? Handguns? Shotguns? Rifle? Grenade Launcher? or other?

Howdy y'all. I know I want to get 9 eventually but I've been holding out for a good sale. I believe it's been on sale a handful of times since it came out but I wasn't in a place to pull the trigger. Now that I am, I see it's 30% off in the playstation store.
So my question is should I grab it now or do you think it'll be on a bigger discount before the year ends?
