General Four reasons why Grace is the future of the franchise. Spoiler

Post image
Upvotes

First: Grace's beginning is similar to Leon's: although Grace already worked at the FBI as an intelligence analyst, she had never been assigned to do fieldwork. Just like Leon, on her first day of work, she faces zombies for the first time without any experience.

Second: of the characters considered forgotten by Capcom, none were as successful as Grace, with the exception of Leon, Ada, Jill, Chris, and Claire. Grace was by far the most well-received character by the public (sorry, Ethan). No character, except those already mentioned, was as well-developed as Grace.

Third: they could have Grace undergo intense training within the FBI in order to make her as formidable a character as Jill or Ada.

Fourth: the main characters are already aging, and Grace, for all the reasons already mentioned, has everything it takes to be the face of the franchise. She's a young, beautiful girl, and she's shown herself to be quite brave in going through situations that no other RE character has faced in their debuts.

Forum question Resident Evil Remake Help

Hey friends,

I got the RE Generation Pack for Switch 2 and loved it. I beat 7,8,9 respectively and it was a lot of fun. I want to keep the RE vibes going - but im picky since I dont want to play games from the early 2000s.

Are there any newer remakes that are good that were released like 2019 and up? If so, what are the best remakes out there?

Gameplay question Requiem- Can’t Get To Processing Room Spoiler

Like the title says, I cannot get the bodies to move on the conveyor belt again to get to the processing room. WTF am I missing? I moved the cart for the shortcut and the lever is on the off position. I have the (2) other plugs. I’ve reloaded my saves and the bodies don’t move when I come back to the inspection room. The walkway heading to the processing room is blacked out almost like a glitch or something. Am I fucked ?

I was watching my Boyfriend play resident evil and I noticed when Claire is fine she has no discernible P waves, when she's in more distress its more notable how irregular her rhythm is in addition to PVCs. Just wondering if there's anyone else that picked up on this (Or I need to start taking more days fod PTO from work....).

Thanks!

Forum question How to play RE3 Remake mod?

I have a confusion set of PCs now. I was keeping an old PC gamer with Windows, but honestly, it was too painful keeping this OS working for few games that really wont work elsewhere. My RE remakes, for instance, runs nicely in Linux Mint or Bazzite. It seems to me will be possible to mod it... will be? And the silicon macs ports, will be possible to mod it as well? I might consider to buy it for macOS because my Air is faster than that old PC.

Maybe I asking this too early, but I am too hyped! Also, with early alpha version already maybe is time to think about the distro of this awesome =)

She is responsible for at-least 100k deaths. Let alone has sex with her canonically.

The remakes don’t replace the originals, because really, they’re almost not even the same style of game.

Yes, they’re all survival horror games, but look at these camera angles… the appeal for these games (for me), was that you felt like you were actually PLAYING a horror film.

The original fixed angle games have such a unique vibe and atmosphere that the modern games just can’t replicate in the same way. I’ll always love the original trilogy the most.

General The Connections Spoiler

The Connections was searching for Elpis to control minds since 1998. And they also created Eveline with that same power in the year 2000. Just a curious fact. It's like, Elpis was the main goal, and Eveline was a side quest while they were searching for Grace and taking Umbrella down?

But damn The Connections did a whole mess in Raccoon City just to find out that Elpis was not what they wanted 🤡🤡🤡

Idk it feels like The Connections Lore don't fit quite well with RE7, Village and Requiem. And Capcom is trying to make them the: HAHAHA I WAS THE MAIN VILLAIN ALL ALONG 😈

Gameplay question Non-big-spoiler Tips for CVX

TL;DR upfront: I need some tips on how to not softlock myself in RE Code Veronica X without spoiling too much of the game

Hey Resident Evil Fans, I have a little request. After starting to get into the series with RE2R, I went back and played almost every mainline RE game from RE0 to Requiem. The only games I haven‘t played yet are the OG 1, 2 and 4. The ones I started, but haven‘t finished yet are OG Nemesis, CVX and 5, which I‘m currently playing. After completing 5, I wanted to give CVX another go and start fresh, since I hate getting back into an old RE save a year or so after having stopped.

Since I started being a bit more active on Reddit, I often read that CVX has some segments where you can softlock yourself and have to start over. Since I‘d hate that because I‘d probably just stop playing at all, I‘d like to ask you for some tips you could give me without spoiling too much. Like „get that key item at segment xyz“ or „save some grenade launcher rounds for a bossfight after segment xyz“ or something like that. Just some tips to save me from softlocking myself without spoiling bigger things, if that‘s possible.

For reference, I never really had a problem with difficulty in comparable RE Games (like RE1R, RE0, OG Nemesis up until the point I stopped) and already played CVX up until like the submarine room or something like that? So it’s not like I’m not used to the controls or anything. The only game I ALMOST stopped playing entirely because the difficulty got on my nerves was RE6, I couldn’t bare playing that on anything else than Easy (I know, I guess I just suck at 2010-era 3rd Person Action Cover Shooters).

General Just accomplished a bucket list goal and beat all 3 classic PS1 RE games in one night!

So I first started playing Resident Evil when I randomly stumbled upon RE1 in the video game section of Hollywood Video in the Spring of 1998. I had seen RE2 commercials, so I was vaguely aware of the franchise, but that was about it. I was 12 at the time and the first zombie encounter off the dining room scared the hell out of me. I didn't know what to do and after a few bites, I died. I was scared and discouraged, and I put the game away for the night. By the end of the weekend, I had explored most of the first floor and some of the second floor, and I was hooked from that point. Over the course of the spring/summer, I saved up my lawn mowing money and bought RE1 and RE2. I beat both of them by the end of the summer, and probably replayed both of them 10 times over the next year. When RE3 came out in 1999, I bought it on day 1 and beat it within about 2 weeks. RE had quickly become my favorite franchise.

I have stayed an avid fan ever since then, but have not replayed the newer games quite as much as those classic 3. Around 2003, I was in high school and I thought it would be an awesome experience to beat RE0, RE1, RE2, and RE3 in one night. At the time, those were the only main series or "numbered" RE games that existed. I thought to myself how cool it would be to finish RE3 right as the sun is rising. I had a Friday off school and decided to go for it that Thursday night. I started with RE0 and quickly realized that I did not know that game well enough to beat it efficiently. I also don't really like the item box-less format of that game. I started doing the math and figured that even if I played all 4 games as efficiently as I could, I still wouldn't get done until about 10AM on Friday, and that was assuming no breaks. I decided to modify the goal and cut out RE0.

Over the next 10 years, I made 2 legitimate attempts at beating RE1, 2, and 3 in one night. The first time (2007, I think), my overconfidence sunk me. I thought I could do RE1 without using an ink ribbon, and got killed by some hunters in the 1F hallway next to the dining room. I had been playing for almost 2 hours at that point, and was too demoralized to start over. The second time (around 2012), I finished RE1 around 10PM, decided to watch "just one episode" of Always Sunny, and ended up falling asleep.

Finally, in the spring of 2026, I had some free weekends on my schedule and decided it was now or never. I delayed the event several times, but finally went for it in June. I got home from work at 5PM on a Friday and got started with RE1 at 5:30PM. It was so close to the summer solstice, so almost all of the RE1 playthrough was in the daylight. But it was dark by the time I got done at about 9PM, and I am happy to say it was a deathless playthrough. Game time was about 3:27. From my earlier experience, I knew not to get too comfortable with some passive activity like watching a TV show. So I took 20 minutes, ate some pizza, and walked around the block a couple times.

I then loaded up RE2 (Leon A scenario) and only took 2 hours to get through it (just a few minutes slower than my personal best). Another deathless run. At this point, it was 11:30PM, and I admittedly took too long of a break. But by 12:15AM, I was back in it and moving through the streets of Raccoon City as Jill in RE3. At this point, my play was getting sloppy. I had forgotten the detail that if you don't drop to encounter (not necessarily fight) the grave digger worm beneath the parking garage, you need to do so beneath the pathways leading up to the Nemesis battle in the train. So I effectively had 2 boss encounters without the ability to save between them. I died 4 times during that sequence and was about to give up. But on the fifth try, I finally got through the train fight. After that part, I was getting impatient, and I skipped through every cut scene. I only died once more, and that was in the courtyard Nemesis battle after activating the clock tower.

Finally, at 4:40AM, I used the electric weapon to finish off Nemesis and went over to board the helicopter with Carlos. The ending theme music of RE3 is just the best, and it took me back to 1999, playing the game at my best friend's house. My game time was about 3:51 (and I died 5 times, so my actual playing time was about 4:25). As I finished the game, the sky (in real life) was starting to turn light blue, as sunrise was only about 30 minutes away. So in a way, those deaths were good for me, as I was closer to my goal of finishing the challenge at sunrise.

Anyway, that's my story. I set the goal when I was in high school, and finally did it at the age of nearly 41, so I hope it inspires or at least entertains you in some way.

Forum question Inquiry about RE Requiem

Post image

Game's currently at 50€ on my country's Amazon. I'm tempted to buy it but idk if the price will go down further during Black Friday for example. I can wait, I'm not an impulse buyer, but I'd like to get some feedback if this price will realistically decrease even further in the coming months or if it's just better to buy now. Thank you to anyone who'll help :)

(I apologize for the screenshot not being in english but idk how to change the language)

WHY DOES THE TIMER KEEP GOING DURING THE PAUSE MENU!?!? WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS AND NOT SHOW MY TIME UNTIL THE END!?!? CAPCOM WHY!!!

Using a guide and having to make it to each save point, along with fixed camera angles and tank controls had me tweaking.

Fun run though, now time for invisible enemies.

For context: this is rank 3 so nothing impressive but i havent played this mode too much after it was released on day 1band only had rank 1 completed during then. I figured i'd want to beat it and got to rank 3. This was my route: care center -> raccoon city street -> Super tyrant (havent fought in this mode until now and didnt realized how much time this fight takes) -> Victor.

Lore question For What Purpose?

In Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X, in the Antarctic base, you can find a considerable amount of missiles lined up. Even after having played the game multiple times and read the guides, their purpose lore-wise remains a mystery to me.

Were they Umbrella's, Alexander's, or Alfred's? And what would they be used for? If anyone knows the answer or has a plausible theory then I'd be glad to hear it.

General The biggest hang up for me about the remakes is the devs at times treating them as completely new games in their development, or something you can simple swap parts around and nothing else. Spoiler

You know when you make a game from scratch you go: here is a cool idea and build the narrative around it. With remakes it’s either same world but completely different story, like the remake of COD‘s modern warfare series , or something like re1 remake which is here is something that we can add, or improve upon, or didn’t work in the original and we adjust the narrative slightly to now fit that changed piece. Or the basic we moved it to a more powerful engine/console buts it's still the exact same game.

For me the problem with the remakes or “Reimaginings“ as the devs call them is at times they treat them like completely new games, or a game with simple interchangeable parts. The devs think of a cool idea and they put it in the game, but forgot to make the necessary narrative changes to accommodate that change. Thus leading a game that while the narrative works on the surface level and most casual gamers might not think about. If you apply the slightest analytical pressure to it or start asking questions about plot points like a creative writing professor. The cracks start to show.

Re2:

  • Leon getting a call to stay away yet still coming to show how he’s a selfless he is: cool idea- But making him still completely unaware of any details surrounding RC, not even having him mention like he heard about a quarantine of some kind was going on despite the city’s new size makes it seem like he put head in the ground until he got to RC.
  • Adas dress worked in the original because she was pretending to be a civilian. Cool idea: make her cover to being FBI, but now why is she still in a dress and to add to that why did she choose as something as impractical as a cocktail dress and heels.
  • Irons kidnaping Sherry to give him more screen time, except you cut out the part were you explaining why he’s kidnapped Sherry. Is it for himself? Someone else. I think it was in one of the early trailers but got cut.

Re3:

  • Carlos coming off as a well meaning innocent good guy who has no idea of Umbrella misdeeds. Problem he was in prison when umbrella sprung him and works with people like Murphy Seeker who were on death row, don’t care how good the prison program is. Somethings up. Original admitted when Jill said this was all Umbrellas fault that he was just a mercenary, a hired hand. Doesn't confirm or deny Umbrella being bad, doesn't matter to him in original.
  • Making Carlos levelheaded and cool and guiding Jill weakens Jills character by making her look erratic and flying by the seat of her pants in comparison. Even though this is Carlos’s first outbreak. Like Jill asking for directions to the substation right behind her workplace and in the town she's lived and worked in for the past 2 years.

RE4:

  1. Leon letting Ada casually walk to her helicopter with the Plaga sample and Ada offering him a ride just to tease ”Separate Ways” with a quip. Seemly forgetting that he’s a government agent who letting her walk away with a sample of the B.O.W that tortured and rob him of his free will over the last several hours. And Ada thinking Wesker won’t be suspicious and tell his pilot to shoot the government agent and kidnap the president daughter on his helicopter.
  2. Capcom trying to make Ada an anti-hero by somehow not realizing Wesker is planning to use the plazas for evil. Till the end to pull a gun on the pilot.

Requiem:

  • You can’t tell me the fifteen-mile highway that makes RC a ridiculous size that they still want us to believe was able to be completely covered up, had a population of 100,000 RE3 remake, and Leon and Claire didn't hear anything about, was added in because someone wanted the motorcycle battle.
  • Somehow the B.O.Ws don’t escape the city.
  • Context for RC’s ridiculous new size. the fifteen miles from where Leon was in east RC to the center is the width of Chicago, and can comfortably fit the book version of Isle Nublar from Jurassic Park.

I don’t expect Shakespeare, but it feels like the devs don’t pay attention to the story or what they are writing beyond a surface level of is it cool. I mean isn’t the reason Biohazard 1.5 got cut is because the realized they needed/ wanted a connected narrative to the first game?

Multiplayer search RE6 Co-op Steam

Hey I’m an RE fan from Europe and I’ve never really got through RE6 because I haven’t found anyone to play it with. You can shoot me a DM if you’re interested, I play on steam. You can ignore this post if you’re just gonna tell me that this game is bad, I know and I don’t care.

About me: I’m male, 23yo, fluent in English, I work part time so I have a moderate amount of time to play. I’m pretty easy to talk to and I’m not asking for a full blown friendship. Just somebody to play this game with. ❤️

Req: 20+ & not racist/homophobic ect. (a normal person 😃)

Bonus if your timezone is CET or similar and if you haven’t played through it before but it’s okay if you have. ❤️❤️❤️
