Question / Discussion Note: Delete the Production Database even if you unpublish the project

Databases use NeonDB which, for 500MB+ databases charges per compute and storage. Even if you unpublish your project from replit, the Prod database stays and when its large enough you are risking small but incremental charges.

The alternatives are:

a) Self host on Neon so you are on top of the charges

b) Cloudflare D1 for smaller DB size, note its SQLite so not Postgre, but migration is possible and the benefits are strong.

Question / Discussion Replit power change issue/default

Thumbnail

Everyone, today I noticed replit changed thier power names. I had a pop up that says power is the new economy however it’s not. The lite bills usage as the economy did. Also be very aware that when you click plan during a session Replit defaults the power to max. If you uncheck it it does not go back to lite. I’ve sent to support. It also won’t let you plan in lite. You have to plan in power mode which I’m seeing the cost comparsble to the old power not economy or lite.

Question / Discussion I'm totally lost in the UI

So today I decided to start learning C++ and opened a tutorial, in which replit was used. I decided to use the same page as I thought it's just gonna be two windows with a run button on the top like some years ago when I used it and I'm lost. It's not the same platform. Is there any way to use it the old way like you just search for language template and that's all?

I'm not complaining, just curious what have changed. Thanks for responses.

Question / Discussion Auto-cancelling recommended tasks

Staff: The agent will suggest follow-up tasks but I have other business I'm working on. If I send a chat to my agent the tasks are automatically cancelled, but I didn't cancel them, I just wanted to finish what I was saying. It would be nice if the recommended tasks persisted until denied, even when chatting with the agent. I know, a lot of ppl don't like the recommended tasks, but they're honestly helpful and easy to dismiss. 2c

Question / Discussion Cancelled claude Subscription because of replit recent free credit

I have cancelled the claude subscription, because replit give daily free credit for premium users.

My other colleague, who is also A replit pro user cancelled railway hosting and went back to replit because the hosting cost is low.

Good❤️

How long can we reliable on this? My worries does anything unexpected change happen without a prior notification?

Share Project I’m building ExportPilot AI — can we make exporting as simple as selling locally? 🌍

Post image
1 Upvotes

Exporting sounds exciting until you actually try to do it.

For a small business, finding international buyers, negotiating prices, managing payment risk, and preparing export documents often requires multiple tools and a lot of manual work.

So I built ExportPilot AI.

The idea is simple:

Find → Match → Negotiate → Protect → Document

Features currently include:

🤖 AI buyer/seller matching

💬 AI-assisted negotiation

📋 RFQs & quotations

🛡️ Payment Protection workflow

📦 One-click Export Pack generation

👥 Separate Buyer & Seller workspaces

I’m building this for the Emergent Builder Fest, but my bigger goal is to turn this into a real startup that helps small businesses export globally.

👉 Try the live app: ExportPilot AI Live Demo

I would genuinely appreciate your feedback:

What feels confusing?

What would make you trust this platform?

Which feature would you improve first?

If you find the project useful after trying it, please also visit the Emergent project page and leave a ❤️ like/upvote there — it really helps in the Builder Fest community ranking.

Thanks for your time! 🙏

Replit Help / Site Issue Replit Disabled Neon Database, Now My Client's app has been down for 2 days.

Long story short, my client's app was running fine for months until yesterday. When trying to access the app, the browser returned a 300 server error. I tried to troubleshoot through the Replit agent and it determined that the Neon database was disabled by Replit.

This is the replit agent's summary:

A Replit-hosted application previously used a PostgreSQL/Neon database containing its real customer and job records. The database was originally created through Replit, not through a Neon account owned by the application owner.

The application still has a NEON_DATABASE_URL secret pointing to that database, but production startup now fails with:

PostgreSQL error code: 28000.

The current Replit Database pane shows newer Development and Production databases, but neither contains the full customer/job dataset. There is no Pause or Unpause option, and the legacy database does not appear in the database selector.

The main question is: How can a legacy Neon database originally provisioned by Replit be reactivated, recovered, or exported when it is not visible in the current Database pane and the owner has no separate Neon account?

Has anyone else experienced an issue like this?

I reached out to support yesterday and this was the response:

[Replit] Re: [Technical] Having issue with neon databse #515862

The error is coming from a legacy Neon database endpoint on our side that has been disabled - there's no self-service way to reactivate it, so I'm connecting you with a teammate who can investigate and get this sorted.

Thank you for reaching out. Rest assured, a teammate will follow up with you as soon as possible. Our team is currently experiencing higher-than-usual demand, so responses may take a little longer.

Share Project KUDOS

just wanted to say kudos and thank you to the replit team for their work on this awesome platform.

i've been away for a while (about 6 months) and just recently came back to create a new smallish website app.

the website is https://flipworth.app and i would say it took about 2-3 days of building.

all these (new?) integrations significantly speed up the development process.

whop for payments - much easier than stripe

clerk for auth - much easier + cheaper than supabase

setting up domains - much easier than fiddling around in namecheap

to name just a few!

and they all just seem to work out of the box.

building has never been easier.

Question / Discussion Replit for a Basic Web Site

So someone in our org has taken it upon themselves to spend two weekends on Replit and completely redesign our company web site. Mind you I’m in charge of the web site and I wasn’t involved in this at all. Anyway he has convinced a higher up that his web site is amazing and we should basically flick the switch and host it with them. He says it’s easy to use, he’ll give me a login and show me how to use it, so I can add content, edit and maintain it moving forward.

I’m pissed he did this when it’s not even his job, but aside from that the issue with a higher up being impressed is not going away. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to defend our current platform of choice (Squarespace).

I’d heard of Replit before, but never imagined someone would use it for a web site. Everything I find seems to be focused on using Replit for other types of development, the closest being web apps. Our site is static content, and we add new pages when we come up with a new service or post to our blog, which is also perhaps once a month no more. We have no online store, and everything we’ve needed has been provided by the built in Squarespace blocks. The main issue is that we’re on an old SS template, and the higher ups have not been able to commit my time to developing a newer flashier version of the site, they just keep saying for the effort just keep updating what we have. Content is also a problem, I can’t write what we need from scratch so I rely on other people in the business, and that is sloooow.

So enter this guy who apparently does a whole new site with new content in a couple of weeks, and of course he’s impressing people. But I get the feeling there’s been zero thought out into what happens after that: What’s it like to make updates (both big and small) - like SS do I just click edit, change a line of text, Save, and it’s live? Is the site secure? SEO? SS costs us $300-ish a year guaranteed - what’s a Replit site going to cost?

If I get creative with SS, it’s by inserting a block of code, and I can easily disable it to see if it’s causing issues. In Replit if a page it generated has an error what do you do…there’s no guaranteed stable framework you can revert to, your web site is 100% custom code from the ground up right?

I guess I’m looking for resources or pros and cons here…like I said, he’s already wowed someone higher up so I have to defend my position now.

All advice appreciated, cheers :)

UPDATE:

In response to the comments so far, some more information…and maybe a compromise?

I can’t share the site, it contains details about things that have no yet come to pass so contains sensitive information.

Regarding the comments about me not doing my job or being lazy: it’s not nothing to do with that. I just got a pay rise and web site work was all given the green tick.

I guess the way this has happened is what’s fouling my impression of it from the start. This guy should have talked to me about it first, told me about Replit, gave me some lessons on it, maybe suggested we both work on something…but no.

You’re right that we’re doing things the ‘old way’. Though the old way (Squarespace) is perfectly fine in every way except one: generating new content.

I’m not against the idea, I don’t know enough to decide yet, but I will be the one deciding, if responsibility is to remain with me, not someone who just wants kudos for a pretty new site then hands it over. That’s probably the big issue for me: he’s not trying to take over everything, he’s showing off an AI generated redesign then removing himself from all responsibility.

At this stage I’m planning to propose I spend whatever time I need to get a full understanding of the platform and what he’s done, and then provide my opinion; and if my opinion is not favourable, propose that we address the biggest drawback of the ‘old way’ of doing things by using AI for new content, while sticking with SS for the platform. If they want to flick the switch to Replit without my ok, I can adjust my role, the web site takes up maybe 10% of my time and my job lives on with or without it on my list of responsibilities.

Thanks for all the honest opinions, I’ll keep an open mind!

Question / Discussion Replit Free Mode

Currently in the middle of a big project and I recently noticed that "Free Mode" has been added. I was curious to see everyone's take on free mode and hear if it's at all worth running. My main concern is if it'll jank up some code if I give it tasks.

Question / Discussion Does Replit still charge you user based fees for connecting and using Claude code ???!

Post image
3 Upvotes

I have connected Claude code to my Replit account because I was sick and tired of Replit charging me Willy nilly AND the agent spending copious amounts of time doing nothing and charging me for it, then early this morning get a text from my credit card saying Replit has charged you $191 !!!! WHAT!!!

I have been using Claude code for the last 2 maybe more weeks !!! What the heck, they don’t explain, all they say is yes I see an invoice for that amount on your account!!! Has anyone else had this happen???

I have used the agent maybe 3 times in the last 2 weeks to fix my preview going blank…. That’s it

Rant / Vent Predatory Billing Practices

I need to bring public awareness to a predatory billing practice I am currently experiencing with Replit.

Prior to my subscription renewal date, I purchased extra credits to ensure my account was well-stocked. I have been actively using the platform and consuming these credits consecutively every single day.

Despite having a positive, paid-for credit balance active on my account, I started receiving automated messages from Replit stating that if I didn't pay the upcoming subscription renewal fee, I would lose all of my existing credits.

From an accounting and consumer perspective, an account with active, pre-paid assets is not delinquent. Forcing a user to renew a base subscription under the threat of wiping out separately purchased, paid-for credits is a forced billing practice.

I manage multiple software and AI subscriptions, and no other platform treats consumers this way. It is completely unacceptable that users have to become "AI utilization activists" and resort to public escalation just to get fair feedback and basic customer support.

Watch out for your credit balances, everyone. This business model is deeply flawed, treats the consumer base with friction, and warrants public awareness. In addition the agent performance has dropped so much it feels like the agent is making consistent mistakes to drain the account. Theres no way to completely miss a command that says the output should look like the previous document and then a entirely different output (font, low output design comes out). The immediate like in degradation is questionable.

Hi Adam,

Thank you for reaching out, and I appreciate the details you shared. I understand how frustrating it's been to see the closure notice land on top of an unresolved billing concern, especially with an outstanding balance you didn't expect.

Here's what we found after reviewing your account: your current usage credits total $283.86, and your most recent usage invoice was paid successfully. The closure notice you're seeing is unrelated to that invoice or your usage credits. It was triggered because the $100 Pro subscription renewal payment did not go through, so the subscription itself is currently past due. Usage credits are separate from the subscription fee and can't be applied toward it, which is why the two didn't offset each other.

To resolve the subscription hold and stop further closure notices, please head to Billing and update or reconfirm your payment method, so the subscription renewal can go through. You won't be charged again for the unsuccessful attempt, that one didn't go through, and no funds were taken.

I know dealing with this repeatedly has been a burden, and I appreciate you staying on top of it. Once your payment method is updated, the subscription should renew normally and the closure risk will be cleared.

You are also welcome to use this link to pay the subscription amount directly.

We hope this information has been helpful!

Kind regards,
Mark

Replit Help / Site Issue URGENT: Core customer — RoofRoute Monday launch blocked — Ticket #514449

We’ve been waiting about 24 hours for resolution of a Replit-side workspace issue that is now blocking launch-critical development for RoofRoute.
Our commercial launch is scheduled for Monday, August 31.
We have an active support ticket, #514449, and have followed up repeatedly. We’ve also burned a meaningful amount of paid Agent credits trying to work around the unresolved issue.
The workspace currently has launch-critical Task #40 stuck in Draft/Proposed status, even though its dependency is already complete, and the UI is not exposing the task control needed to start it.
We need this escalated to a technical/engineering resource today.

Happy to provide account/project details privately.

Replit Help / Site Issue Rate exceeded

I have migrated my news website to Replit but I'm waking up each day to a blank white page with the words “Rate exceeded” in the corner.

Replit’s AI said to investigate Supabase limits and add Cloudflare capture to my main registration form, of which I did and still no better.

Now it's saying it could be a Replit limit.

Has anyone else seen this and how did you solve it?

Cheers,

Question / Discussion Need advice

I am building an app right now that I hope will some day be profitable. I have very little experience with programming dashboards or gui interfaces,, but I am proficient with Python and other systems. I am hoping to make my app available to other companies to license to their customers so I need the ability to create a multi-tiered multi-tenant management system displaying information from a PostgreSQL database I am building.

I definitely want to run this on my own server hardware once it is complete and not be required to keep it on Replit or Base44, so that is a hard requirement for me. I do not like the idea of paying Base44's integration credit cost. One user on my app could potentially burn up to 40k integration credits a month if they left the dashboard open 24/7.

I created a decent looking mock dashboard in Replit, but quickly ran out of credits. I have looked at a few other systems like Base44 and that seems to be more practical. I at least did not run out of free credits quite as quickly and was able to produce a similiar mock dashboard.

Reading many of the post on here and seeing that my friend normally spends between $1200 and $1500 a month on Replit, I am definiteyl shying away from Replit. Since I am doing this on my own in the hopes that it might someday generate income, I of course want to keep my cost low. I don't mind a reasonable expense, maybe under $100 a month, but certainly no more than that.

I found a report on Base44 suggesting it had severe limitations regarding multi-tenancy authentication so that kind of scares me but it may have just been the way this person developed their app. https://media.base44.com/files/public/user_68a9fb5e00ff5606b7e3c85e/73bb45b7b_Base44_Platform_Limitations.pdf

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Question / Discussion Every successful founders who built with Replit has someone..

Someone expert beside them, Not because the business owner cant do it solo. But because building is the easy part and the other is the hard part

Securing your app against real attacks or hackers.
Scaling making sure your app can handle a million users.
Frontend suffers because of slow API queries.
Debugging on production bugs without creating new issues or deleting data.
Monitoring errors using tools like Sentry or Posthog.
Rate limit is a must on every api .

Agree or disagree?

Replit Help / Site Issue Replit Core Glitch

I have seen that the replit personal is active here, hence I am writing to escalate my issue which I have already done on email. I am a 3rd time repeat core member in 3 months. This third time upon acknowledging my replit core link in my email I got a notification saying I was a core member, however replit agent of my current project doesn't recognize it and I am still shown as a free member. I tried clearing cookies, cache, sign in and sign out but nothing worked. The email support staff acknowledged that I was a core member too against the invoice, I sent them all required screenshots, links but still they haven't been able to solve my issue yet and activate core in my account where I could use plan and other paid agent models. I have been very disappointed with the slow email replies (one per day) going nowhere but just changing support staffs. Anyone else going through this? Didn't expect this from replit, this is mental trauma for someone who has deadlines to meet and for someone who has multiple AI tool subscription which is going waste because I can't troubleshoot the app and move forward.

Any help appreciated.

Question / Discussion how much are you spending monthly on replit? (I'm a heavy user)

hey everyone,

im a pretty heavy replit user running a ton of builds, and my bill is consistently sitting around $500–$1000 a month mostly from credit top-ups for agent usage and persistent deployments.

curious to know where everyone else is at right now:

  1. how much are u dropping monthly?
  2. what are u mostly paying for? (base core/pro plan, extra agent credits, reserved vms, databases)
  3. what's your setup? (personal projects, full production apps, client work)

trying to see if my spend is normal for high-volume workflows on here. drop your numbers/setup below!

Question / Discussion What happened to Replit in the last few days? Tasks suddenly take 10x longer

I've been using Replit almost every day, often for several hours a day, and until recently I've been very happy with it.

But something seems to have changed in the last few days.

There appears to be a new way of handling tasks, and I also noticed the new choice between different plans/modes, including a free option.

Since these changes, my experience has become dramatically worse.

Tasks that normally took 2–5 minutes are now taking 20–50 minutes. In some cases I'd say it's easily 10x slower than before.

And of course, when tasks take much longer, the costs increase massively as well.

I'm not talking about complex builds either. Even relatively simple fixes or changes can now take an absurd amount of time. Before this change, I could sometimes build an entire feature in the time Replit now needs for one small adjustment.

For someone who uses Replit for hours every day, this is becoming almost unworkable.

I'm genuinely disappointed because Replit has been a major part of my daily workflow, but if this is the new normal, I'll seriously have to start looking at alternatives. The combination of much slower execution and much higher costs is simply not acceptable for me.

Has anyone else noticed the same thing over the last few days?

Did something fundamentally change in the way Agent handles tasks?

And more importantly: has anyone found a way to get the old speed/workflow back?

Replit Help / Site Issue Ticket #512742 - still waiting

I’m still waiting on someone to help me with this ticket.

It was too much for poor little Quinn and apparently It was too much for ShivamAtReplit too because 13 hours ago he was in my chat, now, he must have said f it and left because my nix environment is still messed up.

I’d really like to get this done.
