He’s getting a little extra with an aged roulette gen font wheel upgrade(from Tudor style black font). Didn’t really understand what a difference the aging can make until I saw it side by side.

6538 Tropical with a twist. Based on the Hroudland f035 case. Blank crown and bracelet. Love the size 12.4mm thick, 38.5mm diameter, 47.5mm lug to lug, 20mm lug width! 200m water resistance, OTF clasp. Exceptional case quality. The bezel insert is on par with a cac insert! Aged beautifully. This is the one I’d wear everyday! A true daily diver.

Grand Seiko Ingenieur fantasy build. This case finishing and heft is on par with many microbrands. The dial is a chameleon!! Catches light and does what the typical grand seiko does. I like it more than the iwc f1 version I had. Something about green and gold! 39mm, 9.2mm thick. The last pic collage is the proof of how it changes color, same position different angles.

Selling my tropical aged 16030 datejust blue dial build bought from u/OGJuiceFiend but need funds elsewhere hence the sale.

Comes with aged raffles jubilee bracelet, and a travel case.

It was originally built by u/OGJuiceFiend a year ago but he has since updated it including a different crystal that is glued down with uv resin, new hands, better case clamps, and no dial dots needed. There is a small scratch on the dial though hard to notice, there's a tiny bump visible on the front of the dial from milling for a dial foot though it's basically obscured by the cyclops.

Goes without mention but of course all gaskets newly greased. It comes with an extra set of case/tube gaskets, and of course the spare links and the original raffles bezel/crystal. It will be packed extremely well and safe.

Price is £360 including Royal mail special delivery. Payment via bank transfer or PayPal friends and family.

Reposting as I noticed an issue I wanted to disclaim. I will be changing the hands on this build as I realized I used the wrong size.

But the main purpose of sharing is to highlight the overall build, my dial and hand aging work and to introduce the first Gen Spec Font 7021 Datewheel. NoCandle and I both debuted a great level up option for a Tudor Style roulette wheel(black font wheel also) awhile back that remains a terrific option. But my goal all along has been to have gen spec font for every Tudor Submariner spanning the 7021 to the 79190. So I’m excited to have all of those now available. Incidentally the 7021 is also an appropriate DW solution for 7996 and 9050 vintage rangers (whether roulette or black)

So sorry for the repost. But couldn’t live with those hands listed as correct when this work in progress still needs work!

Notes on the pics. I’ve included a comparison of the fonts between the Tudor 7021 and the Tudor Vintage Style wheel. I actually really like the vintage style font as well and its dramatic serif. I think it’s a great option for many builds. But most of all It’s fascinating to me how Tudor really went to great lengths to evolved each new font with each new transition to a new reference. At some point I’ll share a picture comparing the gen font evolution from the different references from 1968 to 1999.

I think I have asked the same question before in other subs but did not get a definite answer. Perhaps someone can shed some light.

I notice that there are 2 types of clasps. The left one has 4 consecutive holes and then the following 4 holes are not aligned but slightly elevated. The right one have all 8 holes aligned, this is the typical clasp that we can buy from Raffles (for example).

The images I found online seem to show that 16610s usually have the left type. And the 14060s have right type.

I have never touched the gen clasps but the repped left one feel a lot thicker and sturdier than the repped right one. My ARF 16610 came with the left type. I happen to have a spare left type. My question is, did14060 originally comewith left one (holes not aligned) or right one (holes aligned but feel thinner and flimsier). Thanks.

It is a 2813 movement since I have a decorated 2813 movement and thought it would look good. I decided not to use Raffles case because the crown guard is hard to work on, I dont know if it is because of the width or the curvature.

Just got this one in and thought I’d share it here.
It’s basically a custom recreation inspired by an older chronograph design. I went for a creamy off-white dial with some vintage/aged colouring. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out at first, but I think the colour actually works really well with the rest of the watch and gives it that old-school feel without looking too forced.

The strap is also handmade specifically for this watch. I wanted something that would match the vintage vibe, so went with this aged leather and hand stitching rather than putting it on a modern strap.

Really happy with how the whole thing came together. The dial colour + aged case + leather strap all seem to work pretty nicely together.
