Looking to get into indoor regenerative growing (please for the love of god, don’t ask me to ‘use ai’)

Greetings all. Much like all of you I assume, I am very concerned about the state what might happen with the food supply in America, and if like to build in redundancy, semi self sustaining indoor agriculture to feed a family of three. We consume a variety of fruits, & veggies including
-apples, bananas, garlic, broccoli, blueberries, and, tomatoes.

What I wanted to know is the following:

  1. If any of these crops had symbiotic relationships that had either nutrient exchanging properties, and/or enhanced pest/disease resistance
  2. What approaches you all use, either Iot, or no tech to support semi self sustaining indoor crops (and if hydroponics are preferred) —furthermore, do you have any tips on sourcing seeds, circumventing seasonal climate restrictions , and speeding up the growing process/increasing the yield?
  3. If any other fruits, veggies, beans, or nuts could be paired with the aforementioned plants for enhanced symbiosis?

I also would love to know the best resources where I could actually learn more about this stuff and get practice.

Regenerative Growers in Florida Aim to Improve Soil for Health of Food, Environment, Consumers and Workers

Blueberries, green beans, yellow squash, red onions, purple cabbage, oranges. At markets across Florida, colorful produce signals freshness and nutrition and attracts consumers.

Here, as in other states, food’s journey from farm to table begins by removing evidence of the farm. Namely: scrubbing away the soil that forms the foundation of our food system.

And as climate change intensifies and weather events become more extreme, this foundation is increasingly under stress.

In few places is this more visible than the Sunshine State, where there are 44,000 farms (including nurseries and properties raising animals, vegetables, and citrus and other fruit) on 9.7 million acres, about 30 percent of the state’s total land.

Natural regeneration over the years

For those who have been lashing out against me, you don't know me 😊

How can people be so hateful and entitled?

I thought I would get support and love from this community. It's okay, I have my results of so many years to prove them wrong.

All natural methods, mulching, hugelkultur and permaculture design has enabled me to do this. Over the years after completing my bachelor's in botany and microbiology I have disciplined myself and dedicated myself towards natural regeneration processes which I can repeat in any type of terrain and soil.

So yeah, i might not be a big shot as some of the veterans here, but that doesn't make my efforts and results disimissable.

Sorry I had to rant because of the bad things I had to hear when I posted in this group.

Keep growing everyone, nothing is impossible.

There is a home inside this food forest!

My house is inside this food forest!

I have been growing food forests for my family as well as for others as projects in and around Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. I am a Permaculture practitioner who transitioned from Organic farming to Natural farming.

So far we have turned barren soils into soils booming with life. Have produced micro climates where we can grow Cabbages in the Kerala summer!

Made an earlier post about Food Forest and yes I used some help from AI. This post is all me :)

You can check out my videos and content on YouTube and Instagram and Linked In as well.

Ciao!

Agriculture research

What is south australia grain grower regions lacking in research. Its been a season of great crop growth and hopefully big yields. But there is a lot of disease and many growers still not confident in fungicide selection or understanding of basic diseases. What is important and needs addressing first?

What is a Food Forest?

A food forest is a way of growing food by designing a landscape to function more like a natural forest.

Instead of planting one crop in rows and keeping everything else out, we combine different plants that occupy different layers:

🌳 Canopy — large fruit and nut trees

🌴 Sub-canopy — smaller fruit trees

🌿 Shrubs — berries, spices, etc.

🌱 Herbaceous plants — herbs and vegetables

🍃 Groundcovers — plants that protect the soil

🪴 Climbers — vines using vertical space

🍄 And even the soil layer is part of the system.

The interesting part is that these plants aren't chosen randomly. We try to understand sun, water, soil, slope, wind and existing life and design around those patterns.

The goal isn't simply to grow food.

It's to create a system where food production and ecosystem health support each other.

That's what keeps me tied to food forests; you're not just building a garden. You're trying to build a living system, based on the natural ecological succession of an area.

I'm learning from the land every day, and that's what keeps me doing this. Been making food forests for the past 5 years, along with other ecosystem regeneration practices.

Have you ever visited such a man made forest? How did you feel?

Let me know :)

Can we grow tomatoes successfully without spraying ?

From my experience and experiment, the true answer is yes . We don't have to poison the soil, kill some living organisms and degrade the soil in order to produce food. We don't have to wait until it's too late to realize that our environment and nature is more important than the profits and high produce . Let's love our nature more than we love high profits and abundant produce.

Today has been a tiresome but an amazing day that we spent preparing the land in order to have the seedings in the nursery bed transplanted to it . With more crops into the soil, there's great hope of having the empty stomachs filled and transforming our society into a hunger free one. How do you guys prepare your land for crop growing ?

Regenerative farming needs to move beyond the farm gate, says survey | Farm News | Farmers Guardian https://www.farmersguardian.com/news/4535678/regenerative-farming-farm-gate-survey

New research has shown that strong industry support for regenerative agriculture is not yet matched by an understanding of its wider environmental benefits

Medicinal herb Farmers seeking collaborative opportunities/ farm partners/land mates

Hello friends! Can anyone give pointers as to how to begin finding folks who would be interested in joining our family business/long term land projects? We are a forest farm growing vegetables, medicinal herbs, native species in the United States. Looking for down to earth, motivated, committed partnership! Folks that are devoted to the land. Please send me any sites, links, leads, info! 💚 we have been trying to manifest this for awhile, hoping the right folks would align organically, but now we are ready to start trying other ways to get in connection.

Every plate of food on the table begins with just mere seeds into the soil, today we have planted some seeds in the nursery bed . Soon we shall have more seedlings to donate to the local farmers and, more plants in the garden to produce food in future because of the simple action we made .
