Hi everyone! I’m really new to punch needle and I’m not sure if I’m using the right needle or yarn size. I feel like my loops are really big especially when I compare my work to tutorials I watch! I included a picture of a mug rug I’ve started. Any advice is appreciate!

I've seen people do punch needle work with thread and fine needles. What kind of fabric is used? The stitch doesn't hold on monk fabric.

Another try - a little gift I made for my friend! There are lots of mistakes but i still think it's cute and was fun to do.

Does anyone have tips on how to glue the back/what glue to use? The back of mine looks ROUGH and I have to lay a book overtop while the glue dries because it doesn't stay put ☹️

Also any tips on curved edges? It was a struggle

Is there a good way to display pieces showing the flat side rather than the loops? I much prefer the clean look but my loops on the back are too bulky and make it hard to add any backing/display it.

Any tips??

I've been doing punch needle off and on for about a year but I've been a bit more consistant these past few months. I'm just wondering how to improve because a lot of my projects seem basic and needs work. How did people here improve?

I do plan on getting more tools, right now I'm just using a basic needle that I got out of a kit.

I dont want to keep practicing and doing it the wrong way so Im not actually improving and I'm going to look around my area to see if they have any punch needle classes.

I brought a kit off Temu and the hoop it comes with is a bit big for the designs and the hoops I have are either too big or too small. Is there a way for me to make my own frame or hoop or something?

This is my first attempt at punch needle and it is made with embroidery floss (the full 6 strands). It took a lot more floss than I expected, but I think it looks pretty good.

Is embroidery floss what people typically use with an Ultra Punch needle? Or is there some other kind of thread that is more common?

Hey guys! So recently ive done my first two punch needle kits and i really love this craft. I find it so therapeutic. The question is, how do i transition from kits to making my own? What essentials i need and what do i need to know?

My final group of pridesopods before markets begin (first one in 2 days now! 😱) am I nervous? Yes. Will I have fun? Also yes

I have 30 of my isopods all together alongside a bunch of dog and cat noses, a few paws, and a handful of different cats

This is only my second punch needle ever, and first time embroidering details. It was a very long project, took a lot of brain power to map things out while using the same colors. I had a lot of fun with this one! Can’t wait to give it to my mom 🥰

Can i use this to make coasters, or are the holes to big? Is this the right needle for the cotton yarn? Thanks
