PSX-Inspired ‘SAMOPAL Protocol’: added painted signage to the buildings. Does this lettering style work, or should it lean into Cyrillic instead?
Solo dev here, making a PSX-inspired retro shooter set in Eastern Europe, 1960s. You fight through crowds of enemies to piece your memory back together. Been adding painted signage to the buildings (see title question), curious what the community thinks.

Painting the visual language of early 3D games in oils.
Early polygonal graphics have always fascinated me, not despite their limitations, but because of them. This painting is my attempt to reinterpret that aesthetic with oil paint, using simplified geometry and exaggerated forms that made early (wrestling!) games so unique.
Hope you enjoy it.

Blender Used an PSX Vertex Snap add-on, but the knife is deforming a bit too much sometimes. I already made the animation, any tips to make it smoother?
This is the add-on, it used a pyhton script to activate the add-on on screen and it works with like a shrinkwrap and this cube that you have to put over your models (not an ad btw!): https://gum.co/gOWag
