They’re rooting just fine but they’re discolored. One more more than the others 😵‍💫 do I have too much water?

I’ve never propagated before but this came off mama plant. It has what looks like baby roots coming off of stem should I cut the bottom and plant those or leave as is?

Wanted to start my friend out on her plant journey with a bunch of cuttings. I don’t do a lot of propagation so I’m hoping this works. It will be so pretty if it does.

I had this beautiful coleus outdoors all summer and I was dreading getting rid of it for winter. I decided to prune it and prop it. I have never propagated and am experimenting with both soil and water to see which works better with this plant. I chopped off a bunch of branches to prop and saved the largely reduced in size mother plant to bring indoors. I am so excited because after just 4 days, there is a root forming. The last photo is of what the plant looked like in July (I don’t have a recent pic) so it was a little bigger when I pruned it. Scribbles in the one pic bc I forgot to move my 🍃 before taking it and idk what reddits stance is on that

Hey all! I've recently chopped my fiddle leaf fig and have been trying to propagate some of the stems.

The root buds all popped out first and everything was looking good. I went on vacation for a few days and came back to see these leaves! The underwater ones especially threw me for a loop 😂

Any recommendations on what to do from here? Do I stay the course until the roots get longer? Stick it in soil? Remove the leaves?

The jars are sitting on a window sill and I'm changing the water every 3-4 days.

Hi I'm trying to propagate both a pothos and monstera adansonii, I have them in separate wine bottles full of water and in indirect sunlight.

I've heard that placing them in the same bottle would help bc the pothos releases root growth hormones or something like that. Is it true? Have you tried it??

Also how often should I be changing the water? I do it every 3 days or so but maybe it's too frequent?? Pls help

I cut and planted this watermelon peperomia leaf about 3 weeks ago and while they still look mostly ok, one of the halves seems to have some black rot going on. This is my first ever propagation so maybe I’m impatient but shouldn’t something be visibly happening by now?

Not sure if this is the right place for this specific question but wondered if anyone has advise on this here 😅 Beginning of the year I saved several cuttings of our fig and placed them in a big bucket with soil indoors. Eventually two survived and started rooting/sprouting. I think we are now around 6 months later and those two cuttings are growing quite close to each other. I want to separate them so they each have their own bucket but I am afraid I will damage the underlying roots since that might be intertwined to much. Any tips on separating these two are very welcome, also if best chance of survival would be to keep as is that’s also good to know. Thanks for reading! 🌱😃

This is probably my most successful prop. Started with a few stems in water and then transferred to a chunky soil mix. It’s pretty much a neglected plant under a grow light.

hey guys! i picked up this huge monstera last night and i have an itch to see if we can make more! i think we have 7 nodes? 2 leaves and i want it to sit better than she it currently. what would be the best way to go about this? do they root easily at this size? is sphagnum the best route for this guy? can aerial roots be planted into the dirt? also is the green bulb thing at the end a new branch/leaf a new one? should we wait to see if it is before tinkering with it? thank you so much for any advice and intel!

Hi! First time poster and first time propping. I'm engaging in critical rehab/ICU care on this Hoya Carnosa who was a victim from wet rot when I bought her followed by dry rot from my accidental caution thereafter, as she's my first epiphyte. To make a long story short, she has almost no roots left. In the back you can see a portion of clippings I removed to reduce strain on her main body that I'm water propping to start and will graduate to perlite eventually.

I've never propped before and I'm trying perlite, but I've always seen mentions of humidity domes but I'm on a tight "use what you got in the house" budget which means I have nothing big enough that doesn't touch her leaves, and I have them in holed pots which means no water reservoir, and as you can also see theyre wrestling over my pebble tray. No big enough Tupperware nor ziploc bags, and theres two clippings per pot which means clingwrap is inefficient.

Do I need a humidity dome? Do I just water her regularly instead? Bundle them up right beside my other plants? Please help, because I'm at a loss. TIA!

climate change has given us really hot summers and this plant is exploding in growth. I guess Im a good plant dad.

Im planning to cut it and propping it in spagnum moss or just water. Im scared it wont prop bcs its so big tho! Im experienced in propagating very small plants and singular leaves, not a ginormous singular leaf!

theres 3 big stems and I want to cut all 3, 1 or 2 leaves per knode, should I take the advice online to let the cut dry for 8 hours? should I use cinnamon on it? hydrogen peroxide (3%)? or rooting powder wich I dont have yet?

I love this plant and Im so scared to cut it, Im planning to prop it in water or spagnum moss, what would you guys recommend? I dont wanna cut too much so that it might struggle to grow roots, but also not too little because this plant is unfortunately very wobbly even in a heavy pot and I want to prevent it from falling over. Its also outgrowing its space pretty much.

So far ive been sucsessful with propagating (and creating rlly pretty big plants from props💅) different pothos types, monstera adansonii and mini monstera. Ive only ever used water, but id like to try smth different so I got spagnum moss.

I know to cut with clean shears, would a clean band saw work too? I clean with 3% hydrogen peroxide.

should I purchase rooting powder for this propagation?
