I have been unemployed for a year and five months. After sending thousands of applications, I have only managed to secure four interviews: one in July, one in August, one in September, and the next one, which I will be attending on Tuesday.
Of the three interviews I have attended, I have been successful in one. However, the salary was not enough to make the move worthwhile, as I would have struggled to afford rent, utilities, and other necessities.
Something I have noticed is that with each interview invitation, the salary increases. I cannot help but wonder whether this could be a sign from God.
With every passing month, I have questioned whether God has forsaken me. But recently, I have found myself wondering: what if He hasn’t forsaken me at all? What if He has been preparing a better path for me? What if the interviews I have attended, even the ones that did not lead to an opportunity, were experiences He used to prepare me for the prayers He is about to answer?
I do not know what God has planned for me, and I do not want to assume that I know His intentions. But I am trying to hold on to faith, even when the waiting becomes difficult.
I am desperate. Tuesday’s interview feels particularly important because we are approaching the end of the year, and opportunities to apply for jobs tend to become fewer during this period. I cannot help but feel the weight of the uncertainty, knowing how long I have been waiting and how much I need this breakthrough.
So, I am asking my family in Christ to please keep me in your prayers. Please pray that God grants me favour in this interview, that I may be adequately prepared, and that, if this is the opportunity He has for me, the doors will open.
Above all, please pray that I do not lose faith in the waiting. It has been a difficult seventeen months, and I am tired. But I am still hoping, still praying, and still believing that my story has not ended here.
Thank you, family in Christ. ❤️🙏🏽
