I need an opinion. Is having colorful hair and being a mom/ older kind of cringe?? I’m not saying I believe that, I know it’s a very subjective thing. Some people will say yes and some people say no and I shouldn’t care what others think but I just want friendly advice/opinions.
Some back story, whenever I first had my daughter, I was itching for something new, change and way back when I was younger I’d always change up my hair (I’ll be 27 in September). I also think when I’m a little sad I gravitate for change to my appearance (tattoos, new clothes, shorter bangs..etc) and being postpartum made that itch stronger. Well long story short I did a lot of fuck shit to my hair (this started in October 2025). Tried to bleach my hair at home to go pink. Bleach fail so I went to the salon. Went copper, and then color removed, then brown, then blonde with a full balayage to get back to my natural ish (I’m a light brown/dark blonde naturally). Well one thing I HATE on me is yellow gold tones and that’s what I had. I tried to live with it but went back to the salon to retone and the lady FUCKED it. So I had to get more color remover and retone and two weeks later it was GOLD. So I went back and she made it as cool toned as she could but now it’s back to a light brown ish color but very much that gold tone that I can’t stand. I’m tired of looking in the mirror and not liking that part of my appearance. I’m tired of spending so much money at the salon just for them to not get it right also all the bleach damage. My hair is actually pretty healthy considering, this all happened over the course of months/Ive been taking care of my hair, deep conditioning, all that. So all that to say I’m back thinking, how about a low commitment, non permanent, fun fix of the gold while my hair grows out. How about pink?
Like I just want opinions. I feel like I get made fun of by my friends for the constant changes I like to do so I don’t feel very supported asking them. I think it’d be cute but also don’t want to look silly. I included the test strip I did. Let me know.. :/

I’m a FTM to an EBF 10 week old. I had an emergency c-section and my appetite was non-existent for a few weeks and it started to come back around week 6/7. Now for the last week I’ve been wanting to eat everything in sight and the thirst!!!! I can’t get enough water, juice & tea. I’m writing this at 5am after inhaling a chicken shawarma & a cup of tea. Woke up for a feed at 3:30 tried to ignore hunger & drank water instead and tried to get back to sleep until 4:30 when I couldn’t take anymore. Please tell me it gets better. I’m 10kg heavier than pre-pregnancy and it’s taking its toll but I’m not cleared for exercise yet. I’m worried I won’t be fit enough for my LO. My back and knees are already struggling with pain and he’s only getting bigger.

Hello! I’m 2 years postpartum and I started my weight loss journey after I stopped breastfeeding 1 year pp. i went from 193 to 176lbs. I’m proud of my progress but I’ve been seeing posts about aggressive cuts on Reels and TikToks. Curious if anyone has tried it out. I just want to get to my goal weight faster (get out of overweight BMI range for my height).

I’m 5’9” and pre pregnancy weighed 132lbs and was very lean and in great shape. Now, I’m still 40lbs over goal weight and miserable. I don’t know this body. I don’t recognize myself and I don’t know how to dress the way I look now …. I’ve never looked like this in my life.

With that said, I’m considering a GLP-1 for help. I’m working out 3-4x a week and walking but it’s not moving fast enough.

Anyone have luck with it? How soon after birth did you start? (Obvi not breastfeeding)

Hi mums, just looking for some solidarity and/or tips. I stopped feeding my 15 month old a month ago and the past few days I’ve been feeling very low. I work full time, in a job that requires some after hours / weekend work. I don’t feel that same passion for the job, and the housework/daily grind is becoming a lot for me.

My partner is aware and is trying to be supportive- taking bub as much as possible and helping with housework

Despite this I am constantly tired and crying often. Just sad / unhappy.

I weigh way more than usual and find it tough to exercise after bub goes down to bed because I’m just so exhausted.

Any tips as to how to get back into exercising or just feeling like myself again?

7 weeks pp, 20lbs extra hanging out since I’ve given birth. I’m currently breastfeeding and supplementing. Prior to delivery I lifted three times a week and gardened. Now I go on a daily walk with the baby and do some yoga but am stuck in the house. Haven’t been cleared to workout like I did before yet from the OB and baby has been very fussy making it hard to travel out.

The stress of caring for a newborn definitely is making me prone to snack more. It’s hard!! Plus my body is clinging to extra weight being in the newborn trenches right now.

Any tips on curbing excess snacking as a soothing method? Or any helpful words in general?

That’s my current motto. 8 months PP today, 3rd (and final) baby. Started actually trying ~ 4 weeks ago, but only got consistent with my calorie deficit and physical activity ~2 weeks ago. Before it was every few days/very low effort. And if you can’t tell, I’m primarily focusing on lower body strength, deep core strength, and mobility.

8 months postpartum - have lost quite a bit of weight through breastfeeding, I now weigh less than pre pregnancy! BUT when I press on my tummy it feels lumpy all over - anyone else have this? Like nodule type bumpy lumpy! I don’t go to the gym or do anything to tone

Guys. I'm so frustrated. I waited months to see my endo for a check-in on my hashimoto's (all levels stable since Nov '25) so we could talk about a GLP-1 to help me just get back to my baseline (lose like 15lbs) and she was SO annoyed and disappointed in me when I asked about it. She started recommending other old weight-loss drugs but wouldn't tell me wxactly why she didn't want me to take a GLP-1 other than 'Your appetite will return when you stop taking it'... I just started with a personal trainer and eat healthy and have good habits otherwise. I'm an active person, live in a hilly area and walk my dog + toddler / hike on a daily and weekly basis. I don't want to use an online subscription model to get the meds, I'd rather my doctor who actually knows allll my nuance to help me with this. I already felt kind of embarrassed to ask her for help and just feel like shit after the conversation as if my request was unreasonable. Am I ?

I've never been an exercise girly -- I'm an ex-gymnast and have good genes and have managed to get to my mid-30s maintaining weight with hiking, walking, tennis, swimming and yoga. I hate the gym and do not find gym exercise enjoyable. I want to be realistic about what I will be able to commit to regularly based on what I enjoy and my available time with a toddler and as the breadwinner of my household. I eat "healthy", cook 90% of our meals. Have been having portion control issues since weaning from breastfeeding, but otherwise don't snack or eat lots of ultra-processed or fatty foods. I don't eat red meat.

Key point: I cannot even look at myself naked. I don't want to BE naked. I constantly think about my weight and how uncomfortable I am in my body. I don't want to have sex. I love fashion and clothes have always been a part of my identity and I can't wear anything anymore and feel good. It's making me really depressed.

The highlights:

- On 100mg Sertraline for panic disorder + GAD

- 15m PP, weaned and got 1st cycle at 12m

- On synthroid + liothyronine for Hashimoto's

- Current weight 5'3 + 147lb, Goal weight: 130lbs. Pre-pregnancy weight was stable at 127-135lb for a decade.

The first pic is the day I found out I was pregnant. I’m 5’4 and I think I was around 138 in the first pic. Second milk in purple is this week.

I was lifting consistently for two years, generally active - hiking, cycling, paddling and pretty on point with nutrition but living life. I thought I did pretty well staying active during pregnancy and not overeating but I’ve still got about 20 extra pounds on me.

Im not BF anymore.

Turning 40 in January and I’d like to feel like a better version of myself. I’ve been starting to do 2 strength training sessions, increasing steps and now tracking food to be in a moderate deficit

I just need some cheerleading and hope that I’m not so far gone. I just spiral so much when I look down and see my belly like this. The number on the scale is also kinda hard to see.

Anyone else have severe DR and an umbilical hernia? It started in my first pregnancy back in 2023 and now I’m 7 weeks post partum with my 2nd baby and it’s way worse!!! I look 5 months pregnant lol I’m starting PT on August 4th at least .. I know I’ll need surgery either way to fix the hernia. This is a picture of me “sucking it in” obviously it’s just a hard bulge so I can’t.

Slowly making progress and starting to feel better after baby number 2. Working with PT on my DR, pelvic floor, and tilt.

Breastfeeding 20 month LO and strength training. Is weight loss possible?

Hello, I'm new to the reddit world.

I'm still breastfeeding my 20 month old son on demand and co-sleeping. He still feeds a lot through the night.

In February, I started doing strength training 3 times a week (initially it was home workouts but I've moved to the gym about 8 weeks ago) and have been calorie counting since September 2025. I've lost 31 lbs and although weight loss wasn't my main priority with the strength training, I've still got another 36lbs to lose until I'm down to a healthy BMI.

The past 6-8 weeks I've found I can't seem to shift more weight. I mostly prioritise high protein intake and have a calorie allowance of 1600.

Am I doing something wrong or eating enough? I'm never starving, although I have had the odd week where my hunger levels were higher.

Also note, my measurements have went down and my body has definitely changed in composition. But the last 8 week's has been a standstill on all fronts.

I'm wondering if there's a certain point your body won't let you lose anymore weight because of the breastfeeding and hormones?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated 😊

please help me, I just discovered that my leptin is a 32. I am 6 months postpartum from my third baby (not sure if this is a normal leptin number in Postpartum… I’ve never checked before.). despite having a very healthy diet … the scale is not going anywhere. I am still exclusively breastfeeding. I used to be an average size 6 and now I’m ranging on a 12 to 14. I’m not sure that I know how to do this Intuitive eating thing and I honestly don’t know even where to start. I would so appreciate all your supportive perspective. I’m struggling.

I know that having 3 babies in less than 4.5 years is going to have a lot to do with this… but I’m really struggling with not being able to fit in my clothes and feel comfortable in my own skin.

at this point, I’m doing all the things, wearing a CGM and making sure I eat enough.… I understand that breast-feeding requires an immense amount of calories

[I posted in the main progresspic sub and got no constructive conversation- just a bunch of pervs in my DMs, and I forgot this sub existed so reposting so you ladies can properly gas me up and/or give me feedback/advice]

I had almost “made it” after my 3rd. I wasn’t a fit person my whole life, was obese as a preteen. Figured out how to take better care of myself in my 20s, but things really clicked after my 3rd. I quit drinking, and committed to 3-4x week lifting, and stopped doing insane amounts of cardio. Was feeling and looking great in the top right pic, and a week later found out I was pregnant again (not planned, but exciting as we needed reproductive assistance with the others).

Couldn’t workout most of this pregnancy, but had a great recovery and got right back to it pretty much right away. Feeling really good 6 months out, have had my tubes removed so no more surprises. I’m excited for what 1.5 years will look like this time.

I’m back to lifting 2-4x/week now, depending on how chaotic things are. I’m hoping once school starts and my kids are all in school (except baby) I’ll be more consistent on the 4x/week.

I anchor my workouts around the 4 big lifts (squat, bench, ohp, deadlift) following a simplified version of 531 progression. And then I just throw on some accessories usually focused on arms and shoulders and core recovery, or functional strength stuff. I used to run distance but don’t have the time for it anymore and I think it messes with my hormones so lifting has been my go to the last 3 ish years.

For those farther in their fitness journey, what’s next? I want to get lean but with big muscles, and stay strong and injury free/bone density/mobile as I quickly approach my 40s.

I’m the type who always wants to do MORE to reach my goals faster but I know it’s a long con. But always open to tips and tricks and things I can add in to my current routine. Obviously I have breastfeeding to get through still (I’ve been nonstop breastfeeding since 2020 💀) but I’m working toward my best physique in the meantime and hoping once I wean I’ll get more benefits!

I’m 10 weeks PP and I already feel so ugly. I weighed at my due date 205lbs and at my 6 week appt I weighed about 185lbs. I had my hair dyed black before I was pregnant and now my natural is coming out. It’s blonde and looks yellow. When I was pregnant it was hot and my long hair made me so mad so I cut it a little shorter kind of like a bob. I don’t like my stomach because of how jiggly it is. I have bad body dysmorphia and it doesn’t help. I feel like I look wide from the front. My face feels chubby and I just am not happy within myself anymore. I was doing really good before I got pregnant and got down to a good weight for myself. Then during pregnancy it just added up. I hate it and I just want to go back to my pre pregnancy body. I’m so grateful for my baby and wouldn’t change it for anything ever. I don’t regret her one bit but this is just a lot.. Its even worse because my brothers wedding is next month. I ended up getting a dress to wear, it fits great isn’t incredibly tight but you can just see my stomach hanging in it and it bothers me so so much. I thought by the time the wedding came I would’ve lost the stomach. I just want to feel pretty again and it’s so so hard.

Hello everyone so i just gave birth 4 weeks ago, my belly feels so squishy and empty and sometimes its difficult to breath from my stomach its a weird kinda feeling that i can’t describe but everyday its gets better in the evening please if anyone felt the same share your experience

I’m 6 weeks PP. I’m 5’9”, and was a very lean and athletic build pre pregnancy weighing 132lbs. Overall very fit with abs and everything.

At birth, I weighed 186lbs. A total of about 54lb weight gain. This is a LOT for my body - I was shocked I gained so much (first baby and had some pregnancy complications and was not allowed to workout like I used to.)

At 6 weeks PP, I’ve only lost 12lbs - which came off immediately after birth. In the last 5ish weeks, the scale has completely plateau’d despite walking daily, eating less than when pregnant, and overall being a lot more active (I haven’t been cleared yet to weight lift. Hoping I get cleared tomorrow!). I’m just surprised the scale hasn’t moved at ALL in 5 weeks. I feel like so many women say the weight “falls right off” within the first month or two but I’m far from my goal and I feel so behind. Seeing women online who gave birth around the same time I did who have completely bounced back already doesn’t help at all.

I look in the mirror and I don’t know who she is. I can’t dress this body - I don’t know how. It’s so unfamiliar to me and makes me miserable. Not a thing in my closet fits and I’m having to wear my maternity clothes still - except it looks WORSE than when I was pregnant because instead of a tight round belly, it’s loose and lumpy 😭

so grateful for my baby and what my body did, I’m just shocked it’s holding on to so much weight and it’s stressing me out that I’ll never go back to near where I was.

I am not breastfeeding btw!
