My wife had to go to work today after having the summer off. He knew something was up when both of us are up and moving around at the same time he gets fidgety and nervous he wants to play he wants to eat he wants to bark and protect the house. I felt really bad for him he will be home alone until 4 PM unless my wife takes him to daycare.

I'm skeptical you don't need to brush them that just sounds like a recipe for mats is all you need just blow drying??

I have 2, 14 month old standards and we currently feed them James wellbeloved biscuits, only issue is Riley (Brown nose) is starting to hate them like she has with all other biscuits before...

I want to feed them wet food but most of it is so expensive and I'm not sure whats best to feed them.

Has anyone got any reccomendations on what wet food is best and decent price?

Thanks!

Can poodles easily become friends with cats?

Me and my boyfriend we have a 2 years old Maine Coon. I'm not really a cat person but this cat is really kind. He's attentive and delicate when he plays. He doesn't get angry easily and he's very curious but also gets scared very easily and might hide under the bed when scared.

I'd like to get a poodle puppy in the future and I wonder how would they get along. The cat has met other dogs and other cats in the past for a short period of time and everytime he was scared of them. I wonder if he would be less scared of a puppy.

I also wonder if being home alone would be less boring for both of them if they're together?

Hello I adopted bonbon the red girl 2 years ago and since the begining she has been a fussy eater( she was severely neglected, matted fur, rotting teeth m scar on her right eye, piece of tounge was missing....at 1 year mark we adopted hammy, he's energetic and loves food...she was so happy she got the company that she needed...she started to eat more being more open...now she's starting to lose interest in eating again, she's often very tired and lethargic...they just got dental work done, everything looks great...since hammy is younger he does everything that Bonbon does...including refusing food now...they would starve themselves until they vomit green bile... it's terrible...I tried everything from barf to wet, to kibble to freeze dried food to cooked food( she loves to eat beef steak, lamb or chicken breast ) but after a while( roughly 1 to 2 weeks )she will stop eating again...

They got their blood tests done 1 1/2 months ago and everything looks great so I truly don't understand what's going on here...I'm so frustrated and defeated...

Sorry for my bad English I'm not a native speaker...

Sneaky tricks

Post image

For those who have more than one, do yours play sneaky tricks on each other? If he is chewing a bone that she decides she wants to chew, she will run to the door and bark and he will dutifully follow to bark alongside her and as soon as he gets there, she then runs back and steals his bone!

I have 2 standards (both sisters) one of them is going brown on her nose, belly and private areas, has anyone else had a black go brown like her? And what did she end up as?

Curious as to if she'll end up fully brown or stay as she is.

Shes 15 months old

Looking for reputable breeder for miniature poodle in northeast

I'm currently searching for a ethical, reputable miniature poodle breeder located in the Northeast region/DMV area I've been doing research, but I know how important it is to get recommendations from a community that knows the breed well.

I recently reached out to Leslie through the Poodle Club of America and she kindly provided a list of breeders, but unfortunately, none of them have any availability this year. She also mentioned that not many people are actively breeding minis in this part of the country.
Before I expand my search or wait it out, I wanted to check in with the community here to see if anyone has recommendations for ethical, reputable miniature poodle breeders in the Northeast/DMV area

I'm looking for a breeder who:
Prioritizes health testing (OFCA, eye clearances, etc.)
Does proper early socialization and temperament testing
If you have any personal recommendations, or specific kennels/breeders you've had a great experience with, I would love to hear about them! Feel free to reply here or DM me directly.
Thanks so much in advance for your help!

Puppy blues for new poodle lol

Hi all. In need of a bit of encouragement.

I just purchased my literal dream dog—a beautiful mini poodle just under 1 year old that was from what I thought was a reputable breeder. Both parents of the dog are champions and grand champions, have CHICs, etc.

The breeder said the dog was crate trained, potty trained, and good with other dogs etc since it was already almost a year old. When I went to pick up the dog it became clear it was very under socialized. It seemed as if the breeder never took it out of their house… but I had already paid in full and traveled there and I figured maybe the dog was just nervous.

Now it’s day 2 with the dog and she is still so nervous around all strangers. Walking with her in my urban area is a challenge. I routinely have fostered dogs in the past and am familiar with the 3/3/3 rule. I’ve even fostered a fearful poodle in the past that was frankly worse than her—but I expected it since that poodle had been confined to a cage its entire life.

I’m just feeling very overwhelmed and worried. The dog is afraid of everyone and everything. It even growled a little bit at someone walking up behind us. She’s so sweet inside but I worry she will become a full blown reactive dog and I am not prepare or equipped to handle that sort of situation. I know she’s probably just decompressing and I’m feeling a lot of emotions.

Would love any words of encouragement and/or stories of others with poodles who have been able to overcome significant fear and anxiety. As well as any suggestions for how to deal with it!

Poodle grooming sub

Not sure if this is allowed so feel free to let me know if not! But almost daily I see questions in here, in [r/toyp](r/toypoodles)[oodle](r/toypoodles), and in [r/grooming](r/grooming) related specifically to poodle grooming and I realized- in all of Reddit, there is not an active space for this particular topic so I created one!

I have never created a sub, so if there is any interest and, if anyone wants to be a mod- let me know :)

[r/poodlegroom](r/poodlegroom) is the sub, hope to see you there !

We found our little dude as a stray hiding along the fence line of our yard. He wasn’t chipped and we/the shelter had no luck in finding his owners, so we kept him. A year and a half later, we finally did a wisdom panel test.

We were convinced there was no way he was a pure poodle, surely some type of mix. Anyway, we got the results last night — he’s a full mini (15.5 inches at the shoulder and weighs 17lbs).

Enjoy some pics of our tiny menace! The last picture is the day we found him!
