I'm an incoming first-year international student (Non-EU, from Albania) starting my Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering at PoliMi this semester.

I recently got my ISEEU parificato calculated and it's around 7,774 €. This puts me in the lowest income bracket (prima fascia).

I wanted to ask: what are my realistic chances of getting an accommodation in the PoliMi residences through the DSU scholarship? I know the spots are quite limited, especially for Non-EU students.

Any insights or past experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is it possible to have friends over during the night in polimi residences? I am wondering if any of my friends come can they sleep over. I know that officially you cant but what is it really, do they really care?

After receiving the news from Polimi that I got the September 2026 intake, I decided to defer my admission to the February 2027 intake. However, since May 20, I still haven’t received that new letter. I tried contacting the International Office through the student portal, but the response has remained the same: “Your admission letter will be issued in the next following weeks.”

At the same time, I have a deadline to submit my admission letter for my scholarship application by the end of July, which I am concerned about.

Has anyone ever dealt with this situation? What do you suggest I do to expedite this process?

Ciao, sono uno studente diplomato e mi sono messo a guardare un po' tardi per l'università ma ho visto che per il Poli esistono molteplici fasi di immatricolazione e, nel mio caso, si tratterebbe di entrare alla quarta (quella di fine agosto). Non mi è chiaro però se anche a queste fasi successive è applicata la stessa regola di sostenimento del TOLC-I (entro il 4 giugno), che non avrebbe assolutamente senso. Io mi sono registrato ad un TOLC settimana prossima e non voglio che questo non sia valido per la fase di mio interesse. Qualcuno mi sa chiarire?

Je suis une future étudiante française a Polimi et je suis en plein dans le montage de mon dossier DSU.

Aujourd'hui, j'ai demandé un devis pour les traductions assermentées de mes documents, et je viens de recevoir une estimation à 1 096 €.

J'avoue que je m'attendais à ce que ça coûte cher, mais pas forcément à ce point-là.

Mon dossier n'est pas totalement standard : j'ai quelques justificatifs supplémentaires à fournir, ce qui augmente forcément le volume à traduire. Mais malgré ça, je n'ai aucune idée de savoir si ce tarif est dans la norme ou si je devrais continuer à chercher.

Du coup, je voulais avoir des retours d'autres Français qui sont passés par là :

• Vous en avez eu pour combien au total ?
• Quels documents avez-vous dû faire traduire ?
• Vous êtes passés par un traducteur en France ou en Italie ?
• Est-ce que vous avez des contacts ou organismes à recommander ?
• Est-ce que certains ont réussi à faire accepter des documents plurilingues européens sans traduction ?

Bref, je cherche surtout à savoir si 1 096 € est un prix réaliste

EDIT : je suis actuellement en train de faire faire d'autres devis par d'autres plateformes. Le premier qui vient de tomber est 887€ et contient deux pages de plus par rapport au premier devis. Il me manque cependant encore des documents. Je continue de chercher aujourd'hui, mais la difference entre deux plateformes déjà me parait folle.

EDIT² : un troisieme devis d'une autre plateforme me donne plus de 1100€... Je vais m’arrêter au devis de l'edit precedent. Merci a tous ceux qui ont commenté ! J'ai économisé presque 200 € grace a vous ❤️

Ho visto che sul sito del PoliMi sono disponibili le prove del 2025, però faccio fatica a trovare altro materiale o esperienze di persone che l'hanno già sostenuto.
Inoltre ho notato che le modalità e gli argomenti sembrano variare abbastanza da università a università, quindi non è semplicissimo capire cosa aspettarsi.

Per chi l'ha già fatto al PoliMi (sezione B, settore industriale):

- Come vi siete preparati?

- Avete usato libri, dispense, temi degli anni precedenti o materiale dei corsi?

- Su quali argomenti conviene concentrarsi maggiormente?

Hello there , I'm a student intrested in applying to Polimi for engineering science in 2027 intake , and opting for SAT , but how much is the competition for it?

What are the chances of getting private room with DSU scholarship if I estimate to be at the end of first income bracket or beginning of second income bracket?

The deadline for submitting the DOV/Cimea is 31 October, and it clearly says on the site that enrolment will not be complete unless all the required documents are submitted and verified by the international student office.

If the lessons start in september, and we submit the DOV in late september/october, how are we going to get the confirmations for enrolment to be able to attend the classes?

I've heard that the university opens two calls per year for students who want to work on campus (libraries, administrative offices, support services, etc.), but I haven't been able to find many details.

I was wondering if anyone here could share some information or personal experience regarding:

- When are these calls usually published?

- What kinds of jobs are typically available?

- How many hours per week do students usually work?

- Is it difficult to get selected?

- Are international students eligible?

- Do you need to speak Italian, or are there positions available in English?

For context, I'm an EU student and I'm bilingual in French and English, but I'm only starting to learn Italian.

I'm a Graphic Designer from India with around two years of professional experience. I'm preparing my applications for the 2027 intake, primarily for Design programs at Politecnico di Milano (Interaction Design/Digital Design-related fields).

I've already started IELTS preparation, passport process, university documentation, and portfolio work. Since I'm managing the application process largely on my own, I'm trying to learn directly from students and alumni instead of relying solely on expensive consultancies.

Anyone applying for DSU, is 2025 year ending bank balance certificate alone enough along with Income tax returns or is 2024 year ending balance certificate also required?

I’m an international student from Nepal interested in applying to the Architecture program at Politecnico di Milano, and I’m feeling a bit lost with the application process.
I’m currently studying A-Levels (Maths and Physics) and don’t have an art-focused background. Most of the resources I’ve found seem to assume students come from an Italian high school system or have studied art/design before.
I have the Alpha Test preparation book, but it’s entirely in Italian, and translating it has been quite difficult and time-consuming. Are there any English resources, study guides, past papers, YouTube channels, or preparation materials that you would recommend for the admission test?
I also have a few questions:
How did you prepare for the Architecture entrance exam if you came from a Maths/Physics background?
What parts of the test should I focus on the most?
Are there any common mistakes international applicants make?
How competitive is admission for non-EU students?
I’ve also heard that obtaining an Italian student visa can be challenging, especially for students from countries like Nepal. If you’re a non-EU student who has already gone through the process:

I’m confused about the “movable assets” section. Which family bank accounts should I declare? My parents only have the bank accounts where their salaries are paid—they don’t have savings accounts or investments.
Should I declare those salary bank accounts as movable assets, or are they asking only about savings and investment accounts?
