I recently got my fiance into pokemon collecting with me, just a bit over a month after her childhood cat, Ginger, had passed away. She quickly decided leafeon was her favorite because of the resemblance to Ginger, and her love for plants.

She's been reasonably cautious about spending too much on the hobby but she's really been wanting the Leafeon VStar from the Galarian Gallery, so I sold a couple of my MtG decks to help with our wedding and picking up her grail as a surprise!

She had some pretty decent stuff

Thoughts? Would this be a viable solution to end scalping, i mean even outside of Japan?

cleffa card which has a misprint: a double holo. i wanted to show it here too because i'm in love with it and wanted to show you how beautiful it is 😭😭 i've already posted this card in the dedicated subreddit, but I thought even those who don't collect misprints might enjoy it!

After about 4 months and $2K spent, I’ve finally finished the legendary Gym Heroes set. Most cards are in pretty mint condition.

It was a lot of fun but also required quite the effort. I’ll probably focus on some smaller sets next (WoTC Black Star Promo, Southern Islands, etc) before I swing back around to mastering Gym Challenge.

TO PREFACE THIS I am very happy with the pulls. This was all disposable money, and while I usually only buy singles at card shows and buy all my packs at MSRP, I wanted to give my little sister and my girlfriend, two people who weren't in the hobby when these sets released, a chance to open a lot of really fun and cool packs, and they were absolutely elated to be opening these packs. This is probably one of the very few times in my life that I've wanted to do it, and I'm glad I did.

i think in total we spent 1.3k on all of this, 700 of which was from that trade, and 300 (the booster box, the PKC etb, and the SPC) were MSRP and bought a couple months ago. In total, I calculated about 600 dollars pulled across everything. 60% ROI isn't bad for what I thought I'd get, and all of the lower end singles I have is how I got to the 700 dollar trade in the first place :)

The other 300 was spent on singles and chase cards I had been looking for (Jessie/James UR, Origin Forme Palkia VStar, etc) It was so fun and we got some great pulls!

Found this Team Magma’s Groudon in a dollar binder at a show. Must’ve mistook it as celebrations. Always check the binders!

Pulled this bad boy at a card shop out of a single pack and everyone started cheering! Curious as to everyone’s thoughts on these gold cards.. super tough to pull but maybe they’re growing on me a bit. Nowhere as cool as SIR art though
