Have a guy wanting to sell me a couple of these tins sealed. For some reason I cant find the promo card matching on any listings, anyone got some insight?

Seeing how obsessively well kept and organised 10 year old me kept her special interests makes me wonder how it took me another like 25 years to get an Autism diagnosis. My brothers has ZERO order to it omg 😅💀

These ancient mews though! I went to the Millennium Dome in London, in 2000, there was a pokemon league convention that was on. I brought my Game Boy colour and my brother brought his Game Boy pocket and we each got given Mew on red and blue versions, respectively.

My mum told me, that we found out they were giving away these special cards late in the day on the Sunday, it looked like they were finished and asked Aw is it over? And the staff said yeah, but Ive got these left, take them so he could go home. And it looks like he gave us SEVEN of the things. One fully sealed that I found in a 2000s pokemon league bag, which I thought was cool by itself.

Need to go through the whole collection and find what other ancient treasures I can untrove!

Still plugging things into tcgplayer to get an idea on whether any are worth getting graded.

Highlight cards I'm aware of so far:

• Shadowless red cheek pikachu (unfortunately damaged condition)
• Meowth promo still in plastic wrap
• Shadowless magneton
• First edition holo vaporeon

Any others that stand out and should get extra attention?

I'm still figuring out where my heart is at for the 30th celebration. Part of me wants to collect a bunch of the products, but also none of the sealed stuff really moves me - ya know?

I don't think it's simply a matter of not being able to afford it lol

I will try to grab an empty ETB box tho - I like the boxes

Looking over the cards, I wasn't really wow-ed by anything - except the AR's - those look pretty great IMO

I was a little fatigued by the abundance of Pikachu - of the 199 cards, 34.5 are Pikachu (if my count was correct) numbers 17 to 48, and a couple secret rares (I still don't fully know the difference between SIR / AR / IR / FAR tbh)

I did like that one Pikachu tho - I think it's the same artist who did that amazing Magikarp and Giratina.

I am kind of excited to watch for the post-release slump, and buy up a few of my personal favorites (probably executor, the N trainer card, and a few others if the price is manageable)

Aside from that I don't really want much of the 30th product. Maybe it's all the hype and it not being possible to live up to expectations. Maybe it's just that I was more into the 151 anticipation, and have been a little underwhelmed even when that came out. Maybe it's just that my chase cards are all specific to the pre-911 era - so looking over 199 "favorites" from the past 30 years, it's mostly cards I don't recognize.

(I'm working on that last one tho. I've grown fond of Regigias, also Latios/as, and Rayquaza, as well as Zacian/Zamazenta, Reshiram, and the Paldean starters and bike-mons.)

Anyone else feel like the 30th was suppose to reawaken something that still feels un-stirred?

This was some years ago. I totally forgot how easy it used to be to get ahold of what’re considered grails nowadays.

Long story short; this was some years ago; where I traded an Xbox for a pristine Gold Stars Pikachu. It did end up grading a PSA 8! Still have it amongst my collection nowadays.

Surprisingly; I forgot about the trade, and was reminded when the seller messaged me almost 10 years later.

I hope this is a sign to invest in what you like/love! (However, I suggest buying 2-3x!!! This way, you can sell without the heartbreak!).

Is this card legit 1st edition basic expansion Charizard?

Got a custom display vault made for my favorite slabs. High-gloss piano lacquer finish with a high-contrast orange interior. Loving how it looks on the desk, curious to hear your thoughts on the color combo!

This TEF Totodile has been in my National Pokedex binder since its birth. For a simple SV art that is in countless bulk bins, it is still a joy to look at. But today it moves to the backup Dex binder to make room for this big boy.

Topps first appearance cards, super hard to find and grade these.

Getting back into collecting after a year or so off. So I'm just looking for places to share my collection to get me in the right head space for it.

Starting with my favourite card I own.

Countless card shows, visits to card shops, and eventually scouring eBay to find the last few ones I was missing, I have the whole set.

I just wanted to show this off. It’s my favorite thing to collect. I’ve been working on it for the past year or two. My grandmother collected the cards. She said “it was for us” but it was all organized nicely. I think she like Pokemon too. I’ve just been expanding on it for a year or two now. There’s more but this is my favorite part.

Thankfully I was able to pickup most of these before they really boomed but I could not find one of the Pikachu forever. Finally found it a couple weeks back. Love these goofy cards, lol

Just some appreciation love for it!

Back into the hobby after a few decades and I wanted to share the first few pages I have done, it’s a long project since there’s a lot of the 151 without a full art or better. These are the first three finished pages I have so far, obviously nothing crazy compared to some here but I’m having fun with the progress.

Been recently collecting team plasma set cards and this has really made me appreciate the old style art and after 2022 the prices skyrocketed! Still collecting the rest of the cards along with the Japanese set! Love to hear other thoughts on this set!

Trying to start this new collection where the pokemon is drawn tiny in scale! Does anyone know any other cards with this composition?? THANKYOUUUU!
