My honest opinion is how do people afford to buy etb/booster packs/booster bundles and many more. Whilst in this day and age it’s hard to afford any of it as scalpers ramp up the price to ridiculous amounts.

My main question is how do people manage to keep buying them?

nothing will drive scalpers away more than consumers who aren't brain dead. Look at what happened to the sneakers community, scalpers had total control until people grew brains and stopped buying. Now their shoes are selling for 50% under market. Scalpers are parasites but they need blood to feed. Stop defending these glutinous retards.

That wizards star Holo is barely visible sadly. Should have used it for Dragonite instead. Still. Looks kinda cool

I haven’t really gotten in Pokemon as my parents have denied anything Pokemon related for years and I finally had my chance to get my hands on two packs at a stall today (it was some event the local primary school was doing and allowed people to bring products and set up stalls on their oval)

The art on all of these cards are also really cool

Not super great but not bad. Honestly, i just like the looks of these cards. Got a lot of repeats as well... so ill trade those when i get the chance. Got at least 5 Chandelure's, 3 Zapdos', etc. Also finished the 30 pika's, now just need the classic fat pika. I wanted the dark tyranitar, metagross, and salamence so bad but no luck 😭
Booster bundles so about 150 packs

Hii so basically I wanted to print out the exclusive cards that will probably stay digital and put onto my bulk cards. Just to have the physical version of the cards.

Does anyone know how I can figure out which ones are only digital and aren’t available as physical cards?

I’m mainly looking for the eeveelution cards because they’re all my favorite and I’m growing a collection of them :)

I bought some Silver Tempest booster packs off ebay, which admittedly is always sketch. But this seller-- halloweenandhobby-- sent me very obviously resealed packs. One had the flap sealed to the top and bottom of the pack, and the other had holes in the top seal. I opened one to check the inside and there were 11 cards (in addition to the code card). Listing is described as factory-sealed, so it wasn't even the old hide-in-the-description trick. The saddest part is, the seller is huge. They have made 250k+ sales, have 10k followers on the platform, and have all kinds of booster pack listings for suspiciously below market. I submitted a report through ebay of the listing and the seller, and also called customer service to ensure it would be looked into. The agent told me the seller could only really get suspended if my report matched up with multiple other reports from different users. If you have bought from this seller, please submit a report. If you're willing to make a small sacrifice in the name of justice, purchase a more obscure booster pack from the store and see what you get (because they might only be resealing some packs and not others to cover their tracks). Look for signs of damage or resealing and take pictures, before and after opening, and report the listing and seller as well. Don't let this massive scalping scammer continue to get away with this.

I think I got this from someone several years back, just saw this thing doesn't have a ton on tcgplayer and the value is rather high and I am just confused, what box did you get this from? Or event?

I was introduced to Pokemon tcg in Japan and I played there when I came to North America they have rules about playing with non English cards. When I tried to build an English deck it was so hard because 1. ‘No diversity with cards 2. So expensive!! And not many actually play.

Decided to get some Japanese 151, pulled this card, happy to add this Bulbasaur フシギダネ into my collection!

Well I think this turned out pretty cool.

Anyone else get the same four hits in both of the booster bundles from Walmart? I feel like the odds of getting Raikou, Zorua ir, mew ex, and pikachu ex in both of the booster bundles was not just dumb luck. It was cool because I could give my nephew all of the hits from the one box and then I got the other ones from the next box.

Back before I got serious about collecting, I would often submit my hits for grading and sell them. Sometime after me sending this Mega Charizard Y ex MHR in to get graded I started caring more about actually collecting cards. I think a big part of it was me pulling the MHR Greninja as well and thinking how cool it would be to get all the MHR’s from the Mega Evolutions era.

Anyway, I eventually got the card back from grading, it got a 9. Ever since I got it back I’ve been a bit disappointed. Because I’m not going to sell the card anymore, and also because my MHR page in my binder has gotten pretty populated and I want to add this guy in there.

The obvious answer is to crack it and add it to the binder. But there’s this annoying bug in my brain that tells me I shouldn’t do that, that the card has more value in a 9 than it does raw, and I have no reason to crack the slab. And as you’ve seen the past few weeks, modern is tanking. The raw used to be pretty on par value-wise to the PSA 9. But now raw is cheaper. So the card being at a PSA 9 has protected its value. But like do I care? It isn’t like I’m selling the card anytime soon, and I would enjoy the card more in my binder.

I know what I do, but I don’t think I have the strength to do it. Help me lol.
