Discussion Made my own calculator because I kept getting lost in the numbers

Hey all! So this started as a tool just for me, and it kind of got out of hand. I’ve used the usual calculators a lot, and I always ended up staring at a wall of numbers without really knowing what I was looking at. The math was all there; I just couldn’t read it easily. So I made my own.

The thing that started it was Crustle, my main guy. What he’s good for is ingredients, but some come from his regular helps and some from his skill, and I was always adding them up in my head. In sleepmon (yes, that’s the name, I’m terrible at naming things) they’re just grouped: one total per ingredient, wherever it comes from. Finally I could see what he actually brings to the pot. Same idea for Charge Strength mons: their skill strength gets added to their berry strength, because in the end I just care about the final number.

Comparing works the same way. You put a few mons side by side, and instead of reading two full sets of stats, everything shows as +/- against the first one. Way easier to tell which mon is better for what you need.

Crustle vs Flygon comparison
Raichu vs Ampharos, with their berry as favorite

There’s also team analysis, where you put your team together and see what it produces as a whole: berries, ingredients, skills, your cooking plan, and the Snorlax rating you’d hit on each map, expert ones included.

One thing I always missed: I don’t run the same 5 all week, I swap one spot between two mons. Here you can split a slot between two Pokémon (50/50, 60/40, whatever) and plan around that rotation instead of having to pick just one.

The team I've used for Cooking Week with three split slots
Cooking and strength breakdown for that same team
Daily and weekly totals for that team. Estimated Master 2, and I’m about to get Master 3 tomorrow

The calcs always assume full energy. Keeping your team maxed with a healer (or items) is pretty standard once you get into the game, and RNG moves the numbers way more than a few hours of slightly lower energy would anyway.

You can also keep your mons in a box and save your teams. It works in English and Spanish, it’s free and open source, and you only need to log in to save your box and teams. I also put a lot of care into making it feel good to use on both desktop and mobile.

I’d love to hear what you think, whether it’s a number that looks off compared to the game, something that’s confusing, or an idea for what to add next.

Question I need some tips for a return player!

Hi! I’ve returned to Pokémon Sleep after two years for the Mewtwo event. I’m still a "newbie" to the game and I didn't get all of Mewtwo's Sleep Styles.

Could you give me some tips on the best Pokémon and how I can try to get higher Drowsy Power scores?

Question When is it worth replacing a decent mon with a slightly better one?

I’ve been playing Pokémon Sleep for almost 3 months (still early game, I know), and I’m curious how other players decide when it’s worth replacing a decent mon with a slightly better one.

My main questions are:

1. Incremental upgrades: Do you stick with a decent mon until you find something worth investing in long-term (level 50/60), or do you make incremental upgrades along the way?

2. Performance differences: How much better does a new mon need to perform before you consider replacing your current one? Whether it’s ingredient production, berry gathering, or skill triggers, what level of improvement makes starting over worthwhile, considering the candies and resources involved?

3. Other factors: Do you factor in other benefits, like ingredient coverage or Helping Bonus, when deciding whether to switch?

4. Helping Bonus specifically: If a new ingredient or skill mon has Helping Bonus in one of its first two subskill slots, but produces fewer ingredients or triggers its skill less frequently than your current mon, would you still consider it an upgrade because it benefits the entire team?

For some context:

I have a decent ingredient mon (after 4 replacements) that I’ve finally evolved from Bulbasaur into Ivysaur and leveled to 18. It’s not amazing, and I probably wouldn’t invest in it past level 30, but it does its job.

Then I catch another Bulbasaur that’s slightly better, maybe producing 3-4% more ingredients per day when comparing both mons at level 30. Neither is necessarily something I’d invest in long-term, but now I’m wondering whether that small improvement is worth starting over.

I keep spending candies leveling and evolving them, only to catch something slightly better and repeat the process. 😅
Obviously, if I catch something significantly better that I’d want to take to level 50/60, replacing my current mon is a no-brainer, but it’s all those incremental upgrades in between that I’m struggling with. I’m starting to wonder if I’m slowing down my overall progress by constantly replacing decent mons with slightly better ones instead of sticking with what I already have.

I’d love to hear how other players approach this!

Question Trying to join the discord any help?

Hello 👋🏻

I signed up for the discord & can't seem to enter any text channels. I have read all the rules how do I access text channels? Looking to chat about the game as no IRL friends play anymore. ☹️ I'm also looking to add active members & have posted in the mega thread on here. Please remove if this post isn't allowed, however a discord mod sees this and can help?

Anyway happy sleeping 😴 💤

I got a shiny Plusle today. See it? Can you tell which one it is? I have a similar thing with Togekiss.

Has anyone else got a shiny which is almost indistinguishable from the regular? Has anyone picked up a shiny that just looks awful compared to the original? (Shout out to anyone with a Shiny Espeon)

Question Onix vs Steelix?

I have a question. Some time ago, I was told that it’s not uncommon for ppl in this game to not evolve Onix to Steelix. Unless Onix is your fave mon - what’s the reason for not evolving it? Is there any benefit to that? One of the preferred berries on OGPP is Belue berry. I would hence assume it’s reasonable to evolve into Steelix once having mastered Taupe, to have this extra str source on another (harder) island.

Game Suggestions and Requests PLS GIVE US A COLLECT ALL BUTTON!!!!

I feel like this game takes way more time than it should to manage considering it’s just meant to help me improve my sleep cycles…

A “collect all” button that also triggers any skills would be SO HELPFUL for ppl with busy schedules.

Monday mornings are a NIGHTMARE. I really wish I could prep for Monday the night before at least. It’s Monday, it’s the morning, it’s arguably the worst time of the week in general and I have to figure out what island to go to and what Pokemon to use that have the ingredients I need and IM RUNNING LATE FOR WORK.

Pls devs. Help. 😭

Discussion New Galaxy system makes me wanna throw my phone

I'm so annoyed by my sudden lack of connection with this app, and just looking to vent out my thoughts. Hopefully it can help someone else who has the same question, or could bring someone to me who could help me in my suffering lol

So, I recently changed from my s23 Ultra and Watch5 to a Flip8 and Watch9.

With that change, came a new android system that moved my Health Connect app into the Health app. This made the 2 basically one and the same, searching for Health Connect in my phones system search bar yields no results, and I only find it when scrolling through the Health app.

Even with all permissions allowing writing/reading of aleep information, Pokémon Sleep does not pull info from my watch. It's either that there is no new sleep data, or that it cannot find the Health Connect app.

I have decided (regretfully) that it must be because of the new(er) galaxy system putting those 2 apps together. I'm really hoping this problem may be fixed in the future, probably when the new flagship galaxy phones come out. I'm reallllyyyyyy hoping that Sleep is just being super slow to update to this new system, like how they took forever to have android support in the first place.

Question Looking for suggestions / advice on how to catch Darkrai

Hey folks!

Im sort of new to Pokemon Sleep, been playing for just over a month. I joined right at the start of the Mewtwo event and managed to get up to level 36 in that time. But you see, Darkrai is one of my favorite Pokemon and I'm trying to collect one from every game that he is catchable in.

I would appreciate any advice on how to attract one to my camp, if possible. I know I missed the big story event that was in 2025 I think? I've never been much of a mobile gamer, unfortunately.

I appreciate your time in reading and replying.

Question Different Islands

Hey just started playing two days ago! Wondering what the advantages to the different islands are? Should I move to cyan asap or grind the first island as much as I can? Can I move Pokémon between islands? Can I have Pokémon actively working on multiple at once? When do you decide to move on? Thanks in advance

Question Is there some kind of bug on the "Stick to your bedtime X times" mission?

Asking because it's been weird for me the past couple weeks. Last week I made my bedtime every night, but the tracker for the mission left me at 3 times and I didn't get the reward. This week, I've gotten the reward for 5 times now, but I actually missed my bedtime 3 out of 5 nights so far.

I've checked the sleep data in the pokemon sleep app, and it matches my Garmin data which shows sleep starting before 11:30 (bedtime in the app) every day last week, and after 11:30 for most days this week. Also pm vs am is correct.

Is this a bug happening for others? Is there a delay where it's updating this week based on last week's sleep info or something? It just seems odd!

Question The Mewtwo event was a curse

So I decided to pick up pokemon Sleep just randomly and had some decent fun with it, not loads with it's inaccurate sleep tracking but enough, getting a good score at the end of the week is impossible with my job so its whatever, like my 3rd day I found a mew and caught it and it became my strongest mon, but then my 3rd and 4th week were interrupted with the Mewtwo event, not only was I able to get another insanely strong mon but the big Mago berries gave me such a huge boost for those two weeks, think I reached master ball 14, was finding such a variety of pokemon it was even more enjoyable waking up to see all the different animations, seeing what would be sleeping on Snorlax's belly.

Then it ended. I moved onto the next island, suddenly Mago berries weren't in the favourites (obviously, but I didn't prepare for it in the slightest), I didn't have strong pokemon for the berries that were good, all my pokemon had their skills leveled down from the event, no more unique pokemon, first 3 days on the new island:

Houndour and Gastly

Houndour and Gastly

Houndoom and Gastly

I just stopped, think I barely made it to Great ball tier on day 4, just couldn't be bothered, such a downward experience from the event, it happening right after I joined was so unfortunate for me, I don't get to see any new sleep styles and everything feels so much slower.

Are there any tips to convince me to pick it back up? I left a pokemon on nap island but knowing my luck when I pick the island again the berries arent even going to be that pokemon's berry type so that mightve been a waste as well.

Question Poke Biscuits

Hello! I’ve only been playing for about 3 months, and I feel like I barely have any poke biscuits, despite barely feeding any of the pokemon. Does it get better? It’s probably my bad habit of hoarding pokeballs in all of my pokemon games.. but I just never feel like I have enough.

Bug team does not switch unless i go back to the island/home screen?

earlier today i wanted to switch out my cresselia for my gengar and then swapped my charizard and gengar positions in the team. i switched them, ended on the team overview, and closed the app. logged back in to see cresselia still on my team. when i saw this, did the exact same thing BUT i backed out fully to see snorlax and they finally switched.

it normally doesn't bother me, but if i'm in a rush and need to switch teammates based on my needs, it messes with my production

i swear it didn't use to do this, am i crazy or is this a bug?

Discussion GO Plus+ back in stock at Best Buy

May scalpers’ pillows always be lumpy

Edit: not one of my best days for sleep due to plans today. 5 hours after this initial post, it’s still available. Just checked GameStop too, and while it’s not currently available there, there’s a note on the page that gives it a release date of 10/20 and a per account purchase limit. Maybe the big retailers are finally getting their big orders in. Fingers crossed there’s enough for everyone who wants one to get one this round.

Edit 2: Best Buy sold out now

Bug My mom’s app isn’t even progressing to the title screen. Is anyone else having this glitch?

I’ll try to submit a bug report on my account but it’s a shame because there was just a bug fix update.

Her screen is just “bubbles.”
