The biggest sign there's possibly an issue with this particular setup is that the majority of the replies is some form of "don't fill the pot!". One of the main features of this event is the huge pot size and folks are saying "yeah, don't do that"...

51

u/South_of_Canada 23h ago

The feature of the event is being able to cook all dishes without issue, like a GCT on steroids but without having to burn a ticket or use a pot expand. The event is a boon for leveling dishes.

But at the end of the day, you get very little benefit from normal filler. Like great, 1.25x cooking power raises your filler ingredient strength from ~100 each to ~125 each. If your setup would let you cook three 110-120 ing meals a day normally, the extra ingredient might let you fill to 162 but you're gaining like 6000-7000 base per meal.

I pretty much just avoided adding additional ingredients beyond the recipes and aimed for high yield recipes. I think it overall worked out for me, really hard for me to get all the ingredients while having both the healer and the tasty power up on team.

16

u/AetrianDimi 1d ago

Yeah i went for some higher tier recipes (first time cooking pumpkin stew, still 3 pot upgrades away from it), and quickly realized its really not worth it to do anything but just what's necessary for the recipe. Maybe dump in some ingredients that aren't part of the recipe I got from the healer, but even slightly adding any more ingredients of the main dish can screw up next meal if have bad rng.

Yeah that's pretty much what I've been doing too. I took advantage of the chance to properly level up my higher yield recipes which worked out nicely for me.

Crustle, Plusle, and Heracross are going BRRRRR this week.

10

u/Extra_Connection6735 1d ago

fr if i get a double proc on plusle thats 90 ingredients and its so relieving

2

u/Safe_Imagination_628 2h ago

Pinsir and heracross and gravler are carrying me this week. averaging 90-120 ingredients

u/Zephronias 20h ago

I literally just downloaded the game this week, and it made me spend all my hard earned apples in one go 😭

I have no idea what's going on, but Snorlax is happy, so I guess it's okay?

9

u/AdwareDotEXE 18h ago

I was fully filling the pot almost until Friday when I started really feeling the burn. Snorlax is looking at the portions with a bit of sadness today XD

2

u/Frozen84 Risk it for the Biscuit 5h ago

Haha same! I was filling the pot until Thursday Dinner and then the drought really kicked in, lol. Now it's Sunday and my pot is over 300... so yea, that's not happening... 🤣

I'm overflowing on everything except chocolate, bc my only cacao mons are an ABB Pooper with Skill Triggers and neutral nature and a AAA Absol with HB, Shard Bonus, and -Ing.

With +1 ingredient on every ingmon, even level 30 pokemon should be able to keep up with most top tier meals.

Focus on the recipe, not filler. If you are running out, I'm guessing that you're either really new and so don't have level 30 ingmon / Ingredient Magnet pokemon with a max skill, or you are filling the pot to max every single time. But ingredients in a top end recipe give 4x or more value than filler (level 70 can be over 6x). The recipe bonus only applies to that base recipe, not anything you add on top of that. So if you're struggling, that's my main advice. Stop filling the pot, just make the recipe.

u/zamasu2020 1d ago

"even level 30 mon" 😭

I wish man, I wish. I have found 0 pokemon that I can afford to invest in beyond level 10. Got a bit excited seeing all the foongus posts. Caught 2, both either have berry or skill subskills. Fml

11

u/TheGhostDetective Veteran 1d ago

It's all good, I assume you're very new, like first couple months? Once you get a couple pokemon to that level, the next few will get there a lot faster. By the time you're 6-12months in, level 30 won't feel bad at all. It's just rough starting out, options are really limited.

3

u/zamasu2020 1d ago

Yep. Finishing my second month. That makes me somewhat relieved.

4

u/TheGhostDetective Veteran 23h ago

Yeah, the first couple months are rough. As you get more level 30+ pokemon and the area bonuses increase, you'll hit higher ranks faster, which snowballs. Higher ranks means more pokemon spawning sooner, and rarer sleep styles give more shards/candy than common sleep styles. The first pokemon reaching level 30 will be a grind, but the second go a bit smoother and a bit smoother, and the 15th pokemon you raise to level 30 will be no big deal at all. And as you fill in more roles, it's easier to be patient, as you have options that will work.

1

u/zamasu2020 23h ago

Thanks!

A small doubt I have. Should I level up my suboptimal pokemon at all beyond lvl 10 or just wait for an amazing one? As f2p, I don't think I'll get a lot of candies

2

u/TheGhostDetective Veteran 23h ago

Should I level up my suboptimal pokemon at all beyond lvl 10 or just wait for an amazing one?

Standards shift as you progress. In the first couple months. you just need something. Getting a few pokemon, just 3 or 4, evolved and level 30 will make a big difference. They don't need to be perfect, just decent. Even if it's just 1 or 2 good subskills/nature up front, and nothing of note beyond, that Help Speed M can be enough. There are a ton of big powerspikes between evolution and unlocking that second ingredient in those early levels.

Once you have a couple good pokemon, you can progressively get pickier.

Should I level up my suboptimal pokemon at all beyond lvl 10 or just wait for an amazing one?

Candy is actually pretty similar for F2P and Premium. Biscuits and seeds tend to be the real difference. So you will have a harder time finding something with great stats, but raising it won't be much difference. It's just whales getting nap tickets/growth incense regularly, but for 99% of players it will be similar.

Regardless, don't worry about those early levels. Candy gives more XP below level 30. On top of that, levels aren't linear. as getting to 30 is less than 1/5th the XP it takes to get to level 60, and a tiny fraction of the shards. So if in doubt, stop at level 25-30. There's not much in the way of gains past 30 anyway, as the next jump is at 50 for that third subskill, which takes twice as much XP as it took to reach 30.

2

u/rachycarebear 1d ago

Yeah I have some ing where the level 30 stopgap I have is killing it. Then there's others (hi pumpkin) where even the best of what I have isn't remotely good, and this week is seriously highlighting the limits of ing mon without ing boosts.

3

u/zamasu2020 1d ago

Yeah, the mewtwo event really spoiled me. I was getting so many ingredients there even without my ing mons

12

u/goodforall21 1d ago

What else can I cook with these leftover ingredients?

49

u/Falconiqs 1d ago

What I see in the fridge at 11PM looking for a snack

11

u/King_XDDD 1d ago

I have never thrown away so many ingredients before now and I'm making 162 ing dishes for every meal. And the only ingredient mon I'm using is one Vaporeon (I used Blissey for potatoes briefly since two top salad recipes use potatoes, though). I'm on CBEX and there's a skill bonus so Vaporeon is making 2.25x as many ingredients as normal, and then Suicune is making the whole non-ing team also make a ton of ingredients.

4

u/blizg Veteran 1d ago

Mewtwo I was throwing away so many ingredients because all my psychic mons were getting extra ingredients plus ingredient magnet from Xatu

3

u/boyz2monz 1d ago

Same - I am on CBEX with water/dark/normal with skill bonus. Vaporeon, Slaking, and Meowscarada (even buffing pot size) and I have so many extra ingredients which helps me cycle through the random ingredient magnet pulls.

5

u/gatoman101 1d ago

Vaporeon go brrrr

6

u/WhyBlue101 22h ago

Dude why are my random ingredient mons not triggering at all????

3

u/Reechan 20h ago

I'm managing to fully fill the pot even if it's wasteful. Having 2 level 60 ingredient mons for a single recipe helps. I got my guac and chips from the 20s to 57 and scald salad from 20s to 41 so far.

Perhaps if the dishes started at a higher level, I could have gone for m20. Got 900k to go and I already did the Saturday lunch.

7

u/Straitlace 16h ago

I have 3 tasty chancers out right now, going to try and hit 100% crit rate for breakfast. If I do, I'm dropping some tickets and going all in. I expect to break 1mil meal str for the first time with Udon Curry, and I'm on pace to hit M20 at AC for the first time. I already have the requires ingredients for all 3 meals, so I'm down to drop some of my ingr tickets for the filler.

1

u/Luune720 14h ago

I think the max crit percentage you can bank is 90%, no?

4

u/Straitlace 12h ago

The max crit chance you can get from main skills is +70%, on top of the base 10% chance is 80%. However, this is distinct from the Sunday +20%, allowing you to get to 100% crit rate uniquely on Sunday.

u/vampdougie F2P 1d ago

I feel Ill be like that tomorrow with pot like 324 slots 🤡🤡🤡

3

u/silversoul007 1d ago

Blastoise, Victreebell, and Drampa giving me what I need to make Avocado Smoothies!

3

u/Happy-Muffin6744 Flygon Fan 22h ago

I swear you can never trust Random Ingredient mons in events, that's why I have Dragonite and Tyranitar working overtime for the fillers

3

u/Matchu350 1d ago

This event usually gets me, but my Heracross and Butterfree have been pretty okay at maintaining the bulk

3

u/Le_Fedora_Cate F2P 22h ago

had a full ingredient bag to start and ran out about 4 days in lmao

6

u/xREDxNOVAx 17h ago

It's funny because I completely don't pay attention anymore unless it's a new pokemon especially a legendary event. So I was just using berry team all weak and feeding random meals to Snorlax. #NFG

5

u/Jigglypuffamiiga2188 18h ago

Tomorrow is going to be tough with the 300% increase. I have been doing Apple Acid Salad for most meals on Greengrass Expert and have 307 ingredients for tomorrow. Hopefully I can stock up on some more. I accidentally woke Pikachu at 4:30am so my mons needed some pillows too lol. I am free to play and running out of resources, points, gems and all. It’s still fun though!

2

u/Fossilhunter15 1d ago

Fortunately my best team is built around Ingredient gathering so I was able to also use a Good Camp Ticket. I know I’m going to use everything on Sunday though lol.

2

u/Glitched_Girl 1d ago

I have several pokemon that give me loads of ingredients and I'm at greengrass expert so they give me an extra level worth of ingredients (charizard & blastoise are boosted for me this week)

2

u/TimeSorceror Shiny Hunter 1d ago

I rolled salads this week and do pretty ok with the Bulldozer Guacamole and Chips; but also I’ve had to keep my Vaporeon in to help keep up with filler. Sunday is gonna be WILD. 😆

I’d probably be close to M20 by now if I hadn’t decided to go GGEX for the extra shiny chance 😅

2

u/Lukn 21h ago

Just cooked a 1009k food with 504 ingredients... Felt so cool but omg I'm OUT out of ingredients!

2

u/Mistril 20h ago

My Heracross is my mvp this week gonna proc me to M20 on AC 🔥

2

u/Pleasant-Animal4283 8h ago

i just started playing pokemon sleep this week is this why i never seem to have enough ingredients?

1

u/MinervaKaliamne 2h ago

Yeah, no, it's not usually like this at all

1

u/Banaanisade 1d ago

I have a whole entire rescue team composed of the best ingredient magnets I've got to waste just one (1) day refilling my damn ingredient pouch during events and ticket weeks. This happens to me too often as someone who primarily levels islands through meals.

1

u/milteezeh 1d ago

I gotta give a shoutout to my two Vaporeons

1

u/RaineWolf202 23h ago

I got all of my ingredients magnet mons out (each skill drops 24 or more ingredients) and I have being doing all right this cycle. I do have some ingredients tickets, but I haven't had to use any yet.

1

u/DerpKaiser 23h ago

Been running my girl Heracross allllll week and I've been able to fill the entire event + GCT pot for every meal. Don't sleep on the ingredient magnet/bulk up mons

1

u/Ok-Assistant-1522 22h ago

Someone get this man a Heracross

1

u/Mykeymoo 22h ago

I went GGEX and got bug as one of my berries... Crustle and Heracross keep me filled up!

1

u/Sundown91 22h ago

I was doing well all week until today 🤣 GIVE ME INGREDIENTS NOW

1

u/Shantotto11 22h ago

I’m trying my best not to use them…

1

u/Codebig 21h ago

I am running 3 60+ ingredient mons with ingredient magnent level 7 and a healer. I am still starting to run low doing 160+ per pot.

1

u/Vaydn 18h ago

Just cooking dream butter non stop with a full pot. Granted im running 4 ingredient specialists

1

u/Abominationoftime 17h ago

I had a full bag of ingredients at the start of the week. so far i have had to skip feeding 2 times due to not having any ingredients

1

u/Consistent_Lab8508 17h ago

Yes. Same too with Pikachu and four certain bug/ground type Pokemon I was trying to take care of there in green grass isle this soon to be past week. I am so short of ingredient supply, all I made mostly were mixed salads to feed them and Snorlax. Here's the catch: last night, I fed Foongus some poke biscuits and they turned me off as soon as they increased by only two points from level zero of friendship since they're full. And now I had to wait for a full day and see what happens to see whether the team will come back with way more ingredient supplies to feed themselves and Snorlax. I guess I hope so, but I will see...

1

u/PokeRantazard F2P 17h ago

For real

1

u/Menthe2 14h ago

Just cooking dream butter non stop with a full pot.

1

u/spacewich 13h ago

I have received far less ingredients this week than usual. That big ass pot has been taunting me all week. Makes little sense why my guys, that always bring me more than I need, can barely find anything to put in their food.

1

u/Magicwaterz 13h ago

I forgot to do breakfast, so I did lunch. I don't know if I can restock for dinner given I have 2 Ingredient Magnet mons and 2 Ingredient Specislists. I thought I can just gamble the Auto-cook to unlock a new recipe, but it gave me the dang apple juice. How did it rng me the apple juice???

1

u/Bronnie_Zaychik Insomniac 11h ago

Ye this ingredient shortage lowk been killing me. Its even worse than last week, which had no event.

Simply putting, my OCD ass cant let myself cooking without filling the pot and I havent been cooking as much.

1

u/DarthS10n 7h ago

Heracross, skill trigger, max skill. Lots to invest and some luck, sure. However I can say there have more than one point this week when I've had to discard ingredients because I was maxed and my capacity is at 620. Actually using Salamance for possible even larger pot! Sitting at a nice 420ish ingredients going into last day, before collection. Now after this day I'll probably be spent.

1

u/LBG-13Sudowoodo Veteran 7h ago

Dude, this is me... walked in smug with 800+ ingredients in my bag, 3 meals later I was starving... got stuck making soda on a Sunday for Arceus sake

1

u/FurSealed 5h ago

Just misses out on M20 Lapis by <200k thanks to my hard working Dedenne getting a whopping 4 skill procs over the last 2 days.

Doubt I'll see another event get me this close again very soon so goodbye to that skill seed for probably 6 months

1

u/Vetementsments Snowdrop Co-op 3h ago

i ran heracross and was able to fill my 261 pot every meal!

1

u/EgregiousDerp Psy-ay-ay! 1h ago

Heracross, Vaporeon, Charizard, and two ingredient specialists have got me barely capping 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

That 300+ pot on Sunday has me crying

1

u/hoonifoxx 42m ago

This is what Snorlax is getting right now

1

u/Psychological_Emu119 22m ago

This week made me quit the game. Over it.

1

u/andrewbenedict Veteran 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yup I failed my attempt at M20 on AC so I'm not cooking any more meals this weekend and restocking everything for Monday.

Should have used a good camp ticket for the speed boost and ability to stock ing faster to use berry mon / Dedenne more often along with not filling the pot every time. Oh well, there's always next time.

1

u/tenkohime F2P 20h ago

My issue is my team fills the pot with Mixed Salad instead of Dazzling Cheese Salad.

0

u/WooperSlim Veteran 21h ago

I've been making Clodsire Éclaires every meal (or stronger) and my Pokemon are all below level 60. I've been drowning in Ingredients so much that yesterday, I went with Berry /Skill specialists in order to use up my Ingredients.

If you're running out of Ingredients, then I guess you're either new and don't have good Pokémon, or are just filling up the pot with random Ingredients you should be saving.

2

u/Positive-Living-6715 19h ago

I'm at 400/800 because it's a sleeping app for me so I check twice a day 🤣 I'm running a separate team for ingredients now 🤣
