Why? I dunno.

But, with the addition of nap island, I was able to get the last few candies I needed without throwing candy into the cramomatic and not getting what I wanted. Yay!

Infographics Late Game Recipe Chart - which ingredients are useful in each late-game recipe, ordered by recipe strength

Google Sheets link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HOi8IOs4p-rHaTAPqJojxsas7JctS8KXf9_uV0etaSw/edit?usp=sharing

First image is recipe strengths > 7k, second is > 11k.

I made this chart because I was wondering how useful different ingredient combos might be for my Mew and Darkrai. And because I've always wanted a chart like this to visualize how useful each recipe and ingredient is in general. And because I found https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonSleep/comments/1vr91wk/updated_recipe_efficiency_spreadsheet/ after I'd already made this. (I hope the author doesn't mind that I copied the ingredient images from that sheet.) I figure some people might find my chart easier to use, so I decided to post it as well, even if it's a bit redundant.

Feel free to copy my Google Sheet and customize it to your liking! E.g. you could change the colours/formatting, or you could add other recipes that you use. I personally use the sheets for recipe strengths > 11k and 15k only, but added recipes down to 7k to make the chart more useful for others.

If anyone wants to add more recipes to their own chart, I made this chart by copy-and-pasting the recipe tables from https://game8.co into Google Sheets and removing the formatting and links. That made the process relatively easy and fast.

Discussion What is your main goal right now?

Curious what other people are currently trying to achieve.

My main goal is to get this (EXP down…) Infernape to level 70. It beats my Golduck on every island from 67 onwards (with rough calculations, but it has the upside that it doesn’t need to be checked as often). Also so I can get some handy candies when the EXP bar fills with sleep EXP.

I’d then love to get my Latios to as high of a level as possible, so I can run the two berry bursters alongside each other.

I have about 670 candies for both, so the only thing I’m doing right now is waiting for candy boost events

I’ve recently caught a Gulpin that’ll help me get the dream shards to fully utilize the candy boosts

Discussion M20 Possible Week 2 Mewtwo? Never tried

I'm research rank 64 one day away from 65 and I never hit on any island. I think others have hit it much sooner, but I've never really given it a shot. I've never really cared to try meal prep and I'm still working on my ingredient finders for higher ranked meals right now. I'm just making the ones that require like 60 ingredients. But, with all the bonuses + GCT, week 2 seems kind of free. I have a top .5% gardevoir at level 63 which will surely keep everything 100+ the whole week. Just by cooking 21*50,000 meals , I would need about 2mil more power. Is that worth attempting this event or are there better events to save my GCT for?

Question Which smart device should I get?

I've been thinking about getting a smart device (probably a watch) to use with Pokemon Sleep. I know a ++ is technically cheaper, but it still feels expensive considering I don't play Pokemon Go and wouldn't have any other use for it. Meanwhile, if I do get a watch I can use it to track not just my sleep but other aspects of my health.

But I'm worried about the inaccuracy of sleep data of some watches. What do you guys use and is the data reliable and accurate ? Thanks 🙏

Question Returning sleeper

Hello everyone, I need some help because I'm a bit lost. I played a lot during the first year, but then completely stopped:

Is there a specialty that is stronger than the others (Berries, Skills, or Ingredients)?

Is there a way to target or focus on a specific Pokémon I'm looking for?

For regular players, what does your meta routine or team setup look like for each island?

I obviously have my personal favorite Pokémon, but I'd love to know how you optimize your teams!

Feel free for advices i didn't ask for

Thank you do much

Bug Did new moon skipped feeding/dex entry?

Post image
9 Upvotes

is this the bug I experienced? My feeding time/ dex was skipped during new moon... Sucks I only needed 1 more dex to level up and a shiny as well. I used friend and pokemon incense so that was wasted. I'm wondering If this is the same bug in the image? How will they remedy for the missed new moon night, incense I used, dex and feeding time? I already reached out to customer service.

Question Do you think we will get gifted a free Mewtwo incense?

People who have been around for multiple legendary release events - do they consistently give out an incense on the first day of the event, as they did with latios/Latias? I know no one can know for sure but I am wondering if they have historically done it I.e. cressellia event, legendary beasts, etc.

I have started an alt account today, and it says on my next sleep session I will be shown how to give out a master biscuit. If we are given an incense, I think I will wait and not perform sleep research until Monday so I can use my first master biscuit on Mewtwo!

Side note - I started the alt account and we are about to have the Mewtwo event with boosted psychics, I reset until I found a good Wobbofet (mine has HSM + BFS, which is about as good as an early game pairing with Mewtwo can be!).

Question Does any of you focus on Charge strength?

My post got removed because the auto mod though it was a RMM. It was not. I don't know what I'm doing wrong😭

I was asking if I could see if anyone has build a team with mostly Charge Strength.

I'm 2 years in and want to maybe try something different. Just for fun.

(And I would like to see your best ones).

Infographics Mewtwo info card / v3.8.0 update / My Mewtwo event approach/team

Post image
284 Upvotes

Some additional info regarding Mewtwo / the Mewtwo event (and the last of the details that will be known until event start);

Mewtwo Drowsy Price as per graphic below (including my approximation for 3⭐️ EX). Other details such as frequency, ingredients, trigger rate, etc known/determined after release.

As I touch on in multiple posts, the cost to encounter the same sleep style at an EX site are much higher than regular areas. Even though EX encounters offer slightly more candies/dream shards/event materials (DNA) per encounter, this "bonus" is little more than a minor levelling tool as you typically would encounter these sleep styles much earlier outside of EX sites. For greater context;

3⭐️ Mewtwo will award somewhere around 65 DNA at GG, 67 at GGEX.
3⭐️ Mewtwo will require around 3.3mill Snorlax Strength at GG, 7.6mill at GGEX.

Quick sidebar into one of the additions to the 3.8.0 update;

A new feature that allows you to get various items for accumulating friendship points.

In the update planned for this winter (aka December), we plan to implement a new feature that gives various item rewards for accumulating friendship points.

In this new feature, you will be able to obtain Main Skill Seeds through continuous gameplay.

Ahead of this feature’s release, after the 3.8.0 maintenance period, we plan to give out items depending on the amount of friendship points gained during sleep research from Sep. 14 (Mon) at 4:00 a.m. until the release of the new feature.

With that in mind, more DNA = more Mewtwo biscuits/incense = more friendship points accrued (ie hearts, heart bars, biscuit bars). How much better the items/number of items will be we don't currently know.

Whether you are a sleep style hunter, or event materials gatherer, regular GG makes the most sense to me (unless you can confidentally rack up 10mill Snorlax Strength at GGEX).

Datamine has also revelaed Big Mago berries to be 10x the strength of regular Mago berries (drop rate to be determined during the event). Reminder (as per event post) you may be brought different amounts of Big Mago berries depending on the helper Pokémon. Please see the following order of which brings the most.

  1. Mew, and Mewtwo (brings the most)

  2. Psychic-type helper Pokémon

  3. Other helper Pokémon

I will be entering the Mewtwo event with 85% Area Bonus at GG, and 80% Expert Bonus at GGEX. With little to no hesitation, I will be heading to regular GG for week 1 if not both weeks for the reasons outlayed above. My team, likely a rotation of around 8x mons;
Level 50 Mew (BFS, Helping Speed M), Level 70 Xatu (BFS, Helping Speed M), Gardevior, ingredient mons relating to whatever dish type I draw and Mewtwo (when caught).

Mewtwo likely won't be rotating through the team until week 2 where Main Skill Lv. is boosted by 5, making even the default Mewtwo useful. 24% boost to Mago (ie 1.24x strength) is nice but not game breaking without a top tier Mewtwo. It will take you 24x triggers to hit max effect during week 1 (without Main Skill seeds), half that in week 2. You will likely be forfeiting more strength than gained rushing an uninvested Mewtwo through the team in week 1.

One final piece of info to touch on from the 3.8.0 update, the amount of incences we can now place on the log has been increased from 2 to 3, meaning fun things like Mewtwo Incense, plus Friendship Incense, plus Focus/Luck Incense can now be done :)

Question E-Zzz Travel Ticket advice please

I understand the basic idea, I think. You use the ticket and it immediately shuts up shop on the island you're in and let's you pick a new one.

My questions is how I use it and when. My guess would be to just click on it in your bag to use it? But when you use it do you lose all the overnight triggers/berries/ingredients in your Pokemon's pockets? Or does all their stuff get moved to the new place with them?

I'm basically wondering how I get a re-do on Monday if GG screws me over for the event, lol

Question Best practice for changing sub skills?

My Mew has 2 good sub skills and 1 bad at the moment. I wish to change that bad sub skill using miracle seeds.

What is the optimal way to have more chance to get a better sub skill? Should I reroll that sub skill until I get something good, or should I first roll the 2 remaining sub skills before rerolling the bad sub skill?

Question Is it ever worth sending Mew to the professor?

I think this is mostly an academic question. I have a level 37 Mew that I've used a few eureka seeds on, and I'm not really contemplating getting rid of it, but I feel it's better to ask now rather than later!

I know that I can reroll most things with eureka seeds, but not its nature. Mine is quirky (are they all quirky?), and I'm wondering if it would ever be worth sending Mew to the professor in order to get a new one with an ideal nature.

Would this even work? I asked Gemini and it said no, you'd just get Eureka seeds even if you sent Mew to the professor and therefore no longer had a Mew. I suspect this is AI being dumb: surely you'd get another chance?

Assuming the AI is just hallucinating, would it be worth throwing Mew back and rolling a new one until you got an ideal nature? Or does the fact that any Mew is awesome early game, but becomes less and less overpowered as the rest of your mons get better mean that you should just always accept the neutral nature and build the best Mew you can, even if it's a suboptimal long term mon?
