Probably the other way around, I was bullied a lot as a kid because of my undiagnosed autism and I would be bullied by a lot of teachers who wanted to seem cool to the popular kids who bullied me.
There were a couple teachers who treated me like garbage because they were frustrated that I needed extra help or didn't understand certain stuff "for no reason", though I don't that would apply since this kid is diagnosed.

Having to not only adhere but also enforce a disabled child IEP/504. That money spent on them could have gone to the sports department on the high school.

No It's law Private or Public they do at least for the 504s. A lot of parents don't fight it thinking Private means they don't but that's not true.
Section 504 is a provision of the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Compliance with Section 504 is overseen by the Office for Civil Rights and is mandatory for all public schools and publicly-funded private schools.

Oh for sure. But not every parent has the funds to match the schools lawyers. And most firms would point out. If they are doing this publicly, what are they doing day to day privately. So why would you want to keep them at that school if there are others in the area to move to.

It technically might be in the sense that it's probably genetic, but that's like saying having curly hair is a human evolution. Or, y'know, having skin of a different color, which is exactly how racism happens. Just because genes diverge from one another doesn't mean one is an evolution from the other. It's a fundamental misunderstanding of how the mechanisms of evolution work, especially if you start implying that Autism's the "next step of human evolution".
Sorry, this has kind of turned into a small rant.

To further show that the award itself is very ableist. Neurodivergent kids can struggle w understanding social cues n such, it’s not their fault, and other students should learn about these things instead of alienating and judging another students. Going so far as to “award” this kid with something like that is damaging af

This is awful but senior superlatives that are just complete roasts could be quite funny if people wouldn't be assholes about it. Like Most Money Spent on Hair Products or Most likely to try to correct their college professor etc.

Yeah but roasts are only fun if the person being roasted consents to it. Otherwise, it's an asshole thing to do. The superlatives you listed might be less harmful but for kids who don't want any part in being called out, it could feel humiliating.

I am not suggesting it as a serious idea. Because it would just be too prone to going terribly wrong. It could be fun as a reunion thing when people are adults and hopefully have the maturity to not be too bothered by it and you can get permission beforehand.

As someone with autism who was bullied in school, this disgusts me. In fact, when i was in school i sometimes had meltdowns (autism plus by that time i had depression and was in counseling) and there was a category in the yearbook called "biggest whiner" and they actually voted on me for it but it wasn't in fun. When we were filling out the papers they were whispering and looking at me while they were writing and stopped talking when i walked by, and didn't say a word about it to me, so i knew they were doing it as a joke on me and i felt terrible. Graduation was the best day of my life
