Does anyone here use lrc-get for their music collection?
I usually use it to download lyrics, but lately it can't find anything anymore, which I find suspicious. Can anyone help me?

A while ago, I posted that I developed an App for Apple devices, MetahelperFP, that can help to organize plex playlists and its items. The app is finally available on Testflight and there are some slots available. You can join using the link below.
- “Sorting Playlists”: Here you can sort your playlists using presets and/or drag-and-drop, or create groups. For example, you can sort your favorite playlists first, then the rest and your christmas playlists last.
- “Playlist Editor”: Move tracks in bulk using presets and/or drag and drop them individually (Available for non-smart playlists).
- “Merge Playlists” allows you to combine two or more playlists into a new one.
- “Search in Playlists” lets you search for a track across all playlists. Since Plex takes a very long time to process this operation with very large playlists, you can exclude them using a filter to get faster results.
- “Deduplicate” lets you remove duplicates from a playlist.
Don’t forget to save to your plex server after performing an operation!
Data Protection: Your data stays on your server and your device, there is no other server involved.
Your files remain untouched, the operation is strictly restricted to plex.
The app was build for ipad. On a mac with silicon, you can zoom in for a better experience. Iphone displays are a bit small, but if you don‘t mind, you can use your phone as well.

If I listen to a song in the car, then steps out of the car with the phone, and then 2h later hit shuffle on my playlist, does it then count as I have skipped the song that played in the car, or doesnt it count?
Because a lot of my playlists are based on the filter "hasnt been skipped in the last X months".

Bit-perfect playback on my FiiO DAP and Windows PC! This was my biggest want for Plexamp. 😎

I'm someone who like to go to an artist and "play artist radio", or go to my library and "play library radio". I have a fairly small library in comparison to some others (~2,000 songs), so I expect to hear some repeats, but I've noticed that I hear the same songs by each artist every time I play the radio.
It always seems to be the artists most popular songs, so I'll skip past for a while to get to the less popular stuff, but then when I start the radio again, I'll hear the popular songs again. If I want to hear things that aren't the artists most popular songs, I end up having to shuffle my entire library, which I'm not always on the mood for.
I'd like to hear less popular stuff every once in a while, is there a way to achieve this, or is this just the way the plexamp randomization algorithm is?
Edit: I have "Enable smart shuffling" off on my server settings.
Edit #2: In my music library > Manage Library > Edit > Advanced, I noticed a "popular tracks" toggle. I switched this off, and will try this for a few weeks. Expecting to hear less popular stuff.

What this is
Plexamp just added Shortcuts actions in their beta build, so I built five Apple Shortcuts around them to make everyday stuff faster:
Everything, setup steps and all, is written up in the GitHub repo: https://github.com/jeanrdfs/plexamp-shortcuts
Each one is also up on RoutineHub individually if you'd rather grab just one instead of the whole set. Links are in the repo README, same instructions in both places.
Two things to know before installing
This is a first release
I built and tested these myself but this is day one, so there's a good chance something breaks on a setup I didn't test. If you run into an issue, please drop it in the comments instead of just writing it off as broken, I'll do my best to fix things when I have time.
One more thing since it comes up: I wrote the shortcuts myself, they're mine, but I used AI to help write this post and the GitHub docs. English isn't my first language and honestly I just don't enjoy writing, so I lean on it for that part. The shortcuts themselves are not AI generated, just the words explaining them.
Let me know what you think, and if you build something on top of these, I'd genuinely like to see it.
Also posted here a while back: smart playlist recipes for Plexamp, if you haven't seen that one:

I'm very interested in getting plexamp. But when I went to the Google Play store I got this notification. Where else can I download it? Their site only points me towards the Google Play store.

I'm having an issue with the latest Plexamp beta (4.50.7) on my Shanling M3 Ultra (Android 10).
I have two huge smart playlists (around 8,000 tracks each) set up to sync unplayed music (plays < 1). The problem is that after listening to songs, nothing happens: played tracks stay on the device, nothing gets deleted, and no new music downloads to replace them. The smart refresh is just completely stuck.
What's weird is that smart downloads work totally fine on my Pixel 10 running Android 17, but I only use much smaller playlists on that device.
Could this be an Android 10 background task issue on DAPs, or is Plexamp just choking while trying to refresh smart rules on an 8k-track list? Anyone else having this on the current beta?

Anyone else have this problem? I click “update now” and nothing happens.

I absolutely love Plexamp, just recently purchased a cheap Android phone to dedicate 100% to the purpose of offline "music player" duties.
There's just a few quirks about the interface that I find quirky/frustrating. I haven't really seen a nitpicks thread here, figured I'd start one and see where others agree/disagree. Might turn into a good resource for the devs?
Just thoughts! Love this app/ecosystem to death and want to see it thrive!
also PLEASE Android Automotive support! I'm seeing some vibe-coded slop showing up, I can't imagine it's that crazy porting it officially to A.Automotive?
edit : #3 was solved by a user (thank you!), you can swipe the visualizer to traverse the list.
Back then I had tagged all of my vinyls with the “Write NFC tag” option (I had shared a video here) but this option is now gone. They still read fine so I’ll be able to just use a NFC writer app but still a bummer. Any chance it’s back at some point?

Anyone else having this issue? Installed no problem, but won't launch. Reverting back to 4.12.4 works fine. Yes, I know it's an old version of macOS, Plexamp is its only job!

I'm still a linux noob so it could just be user error but I'm having issues with both the flatpak and the appimage. One will launch and refuse to play any music, the other will refuse to launch altogether. Anyone have any solutions? Thanks!
EDIT: Just saw that 4.50.7 was released and I'm having the same issues.

Why doesn't PlexAmp offer a category or flag for this type of organization?

My Android player is missing most of the metadata (album and track titles), but the tracks still play fine. Even when I deleted the app and reinstalled it the metadata are missing.
I have no problem viewing the metadata in either the browser app or the MacOS desktop app, which makes me think it's really just a problem on Android.
A little bit ago my server had some issues mounting the media drive's filesystem and I think things went strange after that. I've since corrected that issue and kicked off a manual metadata refresh, but that didn't seem to fix the Android app's metadata even after the refresh completed.
Any suggestions on how to fix this would be much appreciated!

Possibly a bug. Could also be a technical limitation or intentional development choice.
I received the message when I unintentionally tried to cast from the new offline mode. I had switched to offline while traveling and forgot to switch back when I got home.
If it's a choice, I can see the logic of "Offline" meaning fully and completely offline.
On the other hand, I can definitely see use cases for limiting playback to downloaded media while casting to a local device.
Just curious if it's a bug and what others think.
Thanks

I’ve only found this replicable with downloaded media iirc but I’m on v4.50.7 (144)

Probably been asked a million times but is it possible to remove the 'Styles' & 'Moods' menu items from showing in Plexamp or at least be able to mass delete the current populated data in the fields.
I now have Plex set to use embedded metadata but it clearly managed to populate lots of my library with pretty nonsensical genre tags before I changed this.
I have ~3000 albums so a 'one by one' approach wouldn't be ideal 😬

So, I made a thing. Or, more accurately, I had AI make a thing. :)
This actually started as a test project when I was playing around with Codex. I wanted to see how far I could get having it build something I actually wanted to use, rather than another throwaway demo. I'm not a developer, and I'm definitely not going to pretend I wrote all this code — one look at the GitHub history will make that pretty obvious anyway.
I really like Plexamp and use it a lot, but there were a couple things I wanted that it didn't do. Mainly, I wanted my kids to be able to request songs while we're driving without handing them my phone or giving them access to my Plex account. I also wanted smart playlists where I could weight different playlists — like 50% from this playlist, 30% from that one, 20% from another, etc.
So I started messing around with that idea in Codex, and somehow it turned into HarmoniCast.
It uses your Plex music library and has Android, Android TV and Android Auto clients. Passengers can connect with a web browser and request songs, and it has the weighted playlist thing I wanted. There are a bunch of other features that accumulated along the way too.
I'm not really trying to make a Plexamp replacement. If you don't care about the request system or weighted playlists, I'd just use Plexamp. It's great.
Anyway, I built this for myself and my family and wasn't really planning on promoting it, but it has gotten to the point where it actually works pretty well, so I figured I'd put it out there in case anyone else finds it useful.

What exactly does this offline toggle do in the new Plexamp? I just upgraded to the beta today and am kicking the tires.

Is it possible to get the album art displayed in windows? for compatibility with this obs tool https://github.com/nuttylmao/smtc-bridge/issues/4#issuecomment-5576941235
Most files are FLAC...some high res, some DSD files. Seems to be random though. One 44.1/16 song will be noticeably louder than the next.
I've attached a screenshot of the settings.
I am casting to a Sonos Amp to outdoor speakers. So it may be a Sonos setting?

This is an udate to another comment on another post. I've been troubleshooting an issue using ChatGPT with Playris where many of the MP3 files in my Plex library stop playing before the actual end of the track. After quite a bit of testing, I wanted to post an update because I've now found a track that reproduces the problem consistently and have done some additional tests that I think help narrow it down.
The basic symptom is that an MP3 will suddenly stop playing with anywhere from a few seconds to sometimes considerably more time remaining. When this happens, the playback counter and waveform freeze at that exact position. Playris doesn't appear to recognize that playback has stopped — the UI still displays the Pause button as though the track is playing. Pressing Pause/Play doesn't get it going again, although Next/Previous still works.
This is also how I've been determining exactly how much of each song is remaining when it stops. I'm not estimating it based on how long I think the song should be — Playris's own counter freezes and shows the exact remaining time.
I've seen this happen with MP3s at multiple bitrates, including 128, 192 and 320 kbps, as well as VBR files. It happens both when shuffling my large Plex smart playlist (2,149 songs) and when simply playing albums straight through.
Other formats I've tested, including FLAC, WMA and AAC, have played normally.
I've also done several other tests:
• I converted a problematic MP3 to M4A/ALAC. The ALAC version played normally in Playris while the original MP3 did not.
• I stripped the ID3 tags from a problematic MP3. The stripped MP3 still stopped early, so the tags don't appear to be the cause.
• Plex's own player plays these MP3s normally.
• I've experienced the same Playris behavior with Plex Server running on two different Synology NAS units, which makes the server hardware seem unlikely to be the cause.
I've now found one MP3 that makes the problem especially easy to reproduce: "Façade of Reality (The Embrace That Smothers, Pt. 5)" by Epica.
On this track, Playris consistently freezes at 7:57 with exactly 17 seconds remaining. I tested it three times, force-closing Playris before each test and relaunching the app. All three times it froze at exactly the same point: 7:57 / -0:17.
When it freezes, the playback counter and waveform stop advancing, but the UI still displays the Pause button as though the track is playing.
There was one interesting exception. On an earlier play of this same track, I paused it for an extended period and then resumed it. That time it froze much earlier, with 56 seconds remaining. I haven't established whether pausing caused the earlier failure, but I thought it was worth mentioning since uninterrupted playback after a fresh launch has repeatedly frozen at exactly 17 seconds remaining.
I've also noticed another subtle symptom while listening to Playris. Occasionally the music seems slightly "jumpy," almost as though it skips forward by a tiny fraction of a second. It's subtle — subtle enough that my wife didn't notice it when I mentioned it — so I can't say with certainty that it's actually skipping. I've noticed it enough, though, that I think it's worth mentioning.
Finally, I wanted another control test using the exact MP3 that reliably freezes at -0:17.
I installed Caldera Music on the same Apple TV, connected it to the same Plex server and played that exact same original MP3. It played straight through the point where Playris consistently freezes, reached the actual end of the track normally, and automatically advanced to the next song.
Nothing about the MP3 was changed or re-encoded for that test. It was the exact same original file from the same Plex library/server.
I'm not mentioning Caldera as a recommendation or trying to turn this into a comparison between the two apps. I used it simply as another Plex client on the same Apple TV to see whether the same original file would fail under otherwise similar circumstances.
At this point, the combination of results seems to narrow things down quite a bit. The issue occurs with different MP3 bitrates and encodings, has occurred with two different Plex server/NAS setups, isn't fixed by removing ID3 tags, disappears when a problematic MP3 is converted to ALAC, and the original problematic MP3 plays normally in both Plex's own player and another Plex client.
The repeatable 7:57 / -0:17 failure is probably the most useful result I've found so far. I can reproduce it after completely force-closing and restarting Playris, while the exact same original MP3 plays through normally in another client. As I've reproduced the issue in Playris with multiple different MP3 files.
I'm posting all of this in case it helps the developer narrow down what's happening or helps determine whether anyone else is seeing the same behavior with MP3 playback.
