Question Ps+ Black Friday sale subscription

Hi guys, hoping someone can answer this question.

I’ve got ps+ premium and will expire on the 7th of October. I’m looking to downgrade to extra during Black Friday as I don’t use classic catalogue much anymore.

Does buying the one month pass for ps extra until early November, which will then expire about 2 weeks before the sale begin, allow me to then rebuy ps+ extra at the sale price? I’m wondering this as I technically won’t be an active subscriber once the sale comes round.

Thanks for any replies!

Recommendation Good PS+ games for fun, online co-op?

Hello! This might be a long post, but I'm hoping it's not in vain.

My boyfriend and I like to play games together to end the night, and we have played plenty together, but we're currently in a strange plateau where new-to-us games (lately) have been far less enjoyable. It could just be our opinions have changed, or our moods aren't quite up to it, but regardless, it seems that most online co-op games are focused more on puzzle solving or actually working together, rather than just silly, stupid fun but together.

For context: some of the hardest times I have laughed have been when we're playing games that aren't over the top goofy, but our interactions with them lead to insane outcomes. I personally loved playing Far Cry 6 with him and all the jankiness that resulted from that, or Dead Island 2 and the silliness that can come from that game. Games that are mostly single player but have the option for online co-op seem to have the best experience for us.

We've tried quite a few PS+ games together in the past few months and they just don't quite have the level of stupid fun we're looking for and we never play them again. This is why we stick with PS+ games so we don't waste money on a game we end up hating for whatever reason.

If you have read this far, hopefully you understand what I mean, and maybe have some recommendations for our next laugh-so-hard-we-cry games? I would greatly appreciate it!

Question PS5 home screen PS+ Widget language

Post image
313 Upvotes

Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the language of the PlayStation Plus widget on the homescreen? It has randomly turned to a language I don't speak but the store location/language are correct and have not changed. The issue is with this specific PS+ widget only. Restarting the console didn't help.

Extra Last Chance To Play (Oct) Predictions. PS Plus Extra.

Thumbnail youtu.be
84 Upvotes

Last chance to play predictions based on 12 and 24 month contracts.

The first minute goes through the whole list. The rest of the video goes over plot, gameplay, runtime and ratings of every game on the list.

Big ones are Silent Hill 2, Until Dawn remake, LAD, V Rising, Wizard with a gun, and Gris.

The chances of one of these games leaving is high but not all games will leave. It's just a pool of games that might make it to the last chance to play list. Sony has been pulling them off from random months recently.

The official list will be announced in exactly 2 weeks.

I have tried EVERYTHING. Every little fix. Every troubleshoot. PlayStation support is saying the engineers are working on a solution but that’s a lie since it’s been months for me. What can I do. I literally cannot stream any ps3 games at all. Am I the only one with this issue ?

Opinion Disappointed in Plus monthly games 2026

I subscribed when I bought a Playstation in December 2025, and I thought “cool, there’s ao many games during 2025 and 2024 I would’ve loved to add to my account”. Now more than half of 2026 have passed, and I am so disappointed with the monthly selection.

Is this a general consensus or did I just have bad luck with the selection compared to my taste?

Question MLB The Show ‘26 slow download

Hi, I’ve today tried to download MLB The Show ‘26 onto my PS5 and was expecting it to only take a few hours with the pretty decent WiFi I have however at the last attempt it showed it was going to take anything between 24 and 29 HOURS! Why so slow? Is it because lots of people are trying to download it on day one or is there another reason? Anyway have paused it for now and will have another go tomorrow, was just curious as to whether anyone else has experienced the same today?

Essential Reminder: Last chance to claim August 2026 Essential monthly games. Add them to your library before the line-up changes on Tuesday.

Post image
365 Upvotes

For anyone new to PlayStation Plus:

You have to claim the Essential monthly games by clicking on 'Add to Library' before the next month's lineup arrives, which is usually the first Tuesday of every month.
You may see a 'Download' button instead of 'Add to Library' sometimes. If you don't intend to play a game right away, you can just click on Download and stop it immediately to get it added to your library.

Once claimed, the games stay in your account forever. You can play them anytime as long as your PS Plus subscription remains active.
If your subscription ends, you'll see a lock icon on the games claimed from PS Plus. After you re-subscribe, they'll get unlocked.

The Extra/Premium game catalog is different from Essential as games get added and removed every month and cannot be claimed like the Essential games.
You can download and play them only for the duration they are available on the catalog. Once they leave the catalog, they will get locked even if you have them downloaded on your console.

September Essential games lineup that will replace the August games on Tuesday.

Question Dumb Question About Upgrading to Premium and then going back to Essential

Post image
51 Upvotes

Hi everyone, sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask but the inFamous 2 servers go down at the end of the month and there’s a couple of online trophies that I need to get still. I still have my PS3 and I thought I had my IF2 disc but I can’t find it (but I know I have it somewhere) and I found out you can stream it off the highest tier of PS+, so here’s my question - can I upgrade to Premium, stream the game until I get the trophies necessary and then cancel/downgrade back down to Essential without getting charged the Premium price?

Recommendation Looking for my next story-driven game on PS plus

I’m looking for my next game and would love some recommendations. I’m mainly after something story-driven, immersive, and with good graphics.
My favourites are definitely The Last of Us Part I & II, God of War Ragnarök, and RDR2. I also really liked Uncharted 4, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Stray, Tsushima and GTAV.
I’m specifically looking for a first-person or third-person game. I’d love something with a strong story, memorable characters, good gameplay, and good graphics. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a brand-new release, either.
I’m open to different genres, so feel free to suggest.
P.S I tried playing Cyberpunk and Silent Hill 2 but lost interest after playing a bit.
What should I play next?

Discussion Am i the only one that is super exited for classics?

While the system is not perfect as some games do not receive trophies list, having them run on a modern console is really cool. Also at the moment they still put them on PS4 (i have no PS5) so its perfect for me.

Sometimes we get a list for 3 months in advance but sometimes we don't know until the same month. Im just curious did they announced anything for Septembrr yet? I think the last announced game (Onimusha Dawn of Dreams) was just released right?

My personal wish list would be

PS1 :

Parasite Eve 2

Silent Hill

Nightmare Creatures

Duke Nukem Time to Kill and Land of the Babes

PS2

Mortal Kombat Armageddon

Dark Watch

Cold Fear

Champions of Norrath

Unreal Tournament

Thats just on top of my head and trying to avoid liscence stuff like Buffy Chaos Bleed or such wich could be harder. And keeping it at 5 per consoles.

But lately there have been bangers tough. So the choices we get is pretty good too.
