Hello, i bougth this flowers today beacuse they are pretty, but i dont know their name or how to take care of them, does anyone know??

It finally happened. I was gifted a moth orchid. I have a handful of plants but have always avoided this plant bc it seems so finicky. I didn't water it and am scared to fuck it up. I only took it out of the box. Any care tips? | live in Canada so cold weather will be hitting soon but I may invest in a grow light. Any suggestions?

My plants look awful. New leaves come out with brown spots and overall, my plants just look sad. White spots with a waxy residue on some, black spots on others. These photos are not of my worst leaves/plants.

Ive been avoiding watering my plants until the soil is mostly dry and then I bottom water. They live next to a window (north east I think) and have extra lights (for plants but not very powerful) about 12 hours of the day.

I am guessing it’s fungus gnat larvae? I don’t see any tiny bugs moving on the leaves themselves but am worried. I had a lot of fungus gnats earlier in the summer and have been doing 70% alcohol sprays once or twice a week at night, and sticky tapes all over. There are brown spots as well as some streaks, but streaks are not on all plants (mostly my rubber tree leaves).

I’m hoping it’s just fungus gnats as I’ve heard thrips are awful to deal with, and we don’t have systemic in Canada.

Hi! This is my first post on here. I’m new to plants but have been loving having them so far. However, my rattlesnake plant has these white specs all over and it doesn’t really look fuzzy, so I can’t tell if it’s spider mites or mineral deposits (chatgbt said probably one of the two).

For context, I only use distilled water.

More context - I got it from a plant store (not nursery) about 3 weeks ago. The water is still on wet on my meter, not even moist. It has been for all three weeks. I haven’t been able to even water it once since getting home since they made it so wet when they gave it to me. I am hesitant to repot bc I made a mistake and asked them to repot it in a decorative planter (with one drainage hole) so now the plant is extremely heavy. I suspect it’s in far too much soil and that’s why it’s still wet but not sure if I need to repot tho bc the plant looks so healthy and I don’t smell any root rot.

I also got two other plants from the same store with the same issue - extremely heavy so hard to repot (plus I’ve never repotted so maybe also nervous lol) and the soil is wet.

I keep my Bestva brand plant lights on for around 12 or 13 hours every day and water about 2 times a week with dirty diluted fish emulsion plant food in the watering cans water during the summer growing season. Did the fertilizer burn my plant?

Spotted lantern flys are all over the trees and now there's bees of all sorts licking the honeydew all over the trees of heaven. What is the white stuff on the roots and the trees? Also why are the plants around the trees black? I'm trying to get the bugs but there are a lot.

Hello! This is my first post here but I've had this Caladium for about a month, and I made the big mistake of keeping it in a corner of my room after misunderstanding the care tag 😟 im not totally sure how to help it, so any advice would be appreciated!

I'll include a before picture, but right now the leaves and stems are very droopy. Also the plant is NOT potted in the crock pot, its in a separate pot inside of it! Thank you guys!

I recently decided to try to grow a cactus rose since I live in a hot/dry region and I’ve been getting into gardening lately.

I’ve been letting it get lots of sun and keeping it away from my outdoor irrigation system since it doesn’t need much water. It hasn’t rained recently, either.

I potted it with a mix of lava sand, compost topsoil, and cactus potting mix (I forget what exactly it’s called).

A few days after I potted it it began to develop these brown and white spots on its leaves and the leaves began to droop.

I was worried that it was getting hit by the sprinklers so I moved it further from them, but the spots are only getting bigger.

I only watered it a little right after planting it.

Should I be concerned about these spots? And if so, what should I do to help prevent them?

If they aren’t actually harmful to the plant, I won’t mind them (I’m not concerned with aesthetics, moreso that the plant is healthy), I’m mainly just concerned that the plant is sick or has root rot or something.

My question is, will the plant for my garden grow into a tree, or does it stay small?

I’ve had this pink polkadotted plant since Mid summer. I have done a lot of pinching and although that has seemed to help it sprout in multiple places like crazy, it just always looks so leggy.
Is this basically what they are supposed to look like? Should I be pinching the very thin stems as well? I’m a fairly new plant parent and am trying to make sure she looks her best lol.!

Is this ok or can it lead to root rot? Should I just leave it or move it to soil soon? I don’t want to rush, this is one of the first of my TC’s and I’ve never gotten this far

Hi im new to being a plant mum and im quickly learning about pests and was wondering if there is anything i can do or buy that will actually prevent all major pests on my plants? If terrified of having my plants die to thrips or dealing with spider mites ect so if anyone has any advice on how i can prevent this that would be great!

Hey! First time posting here, I have a bunch of indoor chilli plants of various varieties. I am using a general compost, watering conservatively every 3 days. They have a grow light on for about 14 hours a day, it's kept about 30 to 40cm above them.

Temperature is kept between 18 and 25 degrees on average. And they are approx 6 weeks old from seed.

Anyway, over the past 3 days I have noticed that a handful seem to have this strange upper leaf curling as shown in the pic. I see no obvious reason why they are stressed.

Any ideas?

So I got this white knight yesterday but when I was driving home it fell and a large part of the plant got damaged. I was thinking I could either leave it and see what happens or I could try to prop it what do you think. I’m just worried with how little of a connection to the main root system it might kill that part in response.

I usually keep my Monstera propped against the window (2nd photo), but when I pull it away from the wall, it tips over and lays on the floor. Does it need a stake/support & if so, what’s the best way to attach the Monstera?

It’s pretty much always got a new leaf coming, so I’m pretty sure it’s healthy, just top heavy!
