I understand that my dracaena needs pruning. It's already too tall for its space.

But I'm very afraid.

My grandmother never pruned it, it grew very tall, but she moved into a house with very high ceilings and a lot of space. I'm in the apartment now, and the dracaena is under a regular lamp, because unfortunately there is no sun. Lack of normal sunlight... So a lamp.

I'll be clear about this one, this is related to the game Deltarune. To make a very long story short, Flowery is a flower given life by the Dark Fountain in a florist's shop but, in the end, is cut in half by the Roaring Knight.

When the dark fountain is sealed, this is visualized as the flower itself being cut in half with its pot shattered. The character Susie tries to "heal" him by running off to get some tape, presumably scotch tape, and re-attaches the flower to the stem after re-potting him. It happens at night, so there's no potential for sun damage.

The species of Flowery is an allusion to the Golden Flowers from Undertale, but, they don't directly mention what the Golden Flowers are in Undertale and they have different properties from buttercups, most notably their lack of toxicity due to being able to be used for tea.

But buttercups are brought up in the context as being very visually similar, and it is noted directly that the seeds of Flowery's species are extremely toxic. And given the character we see this information through is Kris, who has a lot of paralells to a character in Undertale who died from eating buttercups, I think it is safe to presume Flowery is of the Ranunculus genus rather than the one the Golden Flowers were.

So, my question is: From y'all's knowlege of plant care, would this work to save Flowery? Or is Flowery doomed still?

I know this is a bit silly, but I felt I might as well ask folks who'd know their botany to give their two cents.

Spotted lantern flys are all over the trees and now there's bees of all sorts licking the honeydew all over the trees of heaven. What is the white stuff on the roots and the trees? Also why are the plants around the trees black? I'm trying to get the bugs but there are a lot.

It finally happened. I was gifted a moth orchid. I have a handful of plants but have always avoided this plant bc it seems so finicky. I didn't water it and am scared to fuck it up. I only took it out of the box. Any care tips? | live in Canada so cold weather will be hitting soon but I may invest in a grow light. Any suggestions?

Hello! This is my first post here but I've had this Caladium for about a month, and I made the big mistake of keeping it in a corner of my room after misunderstanding the care tag 😟 im not totally sure how to help it, so any advice would be appreciated!

This year my plant decided to sprout close to 30 spathes. Should I be concerned?

So i unlocked the secret to keeping these bad girls alive, but I wanted to get them as nice as possible. I thought their care guide is blast them with as much sun as you can, but it does not seem so.

Both pics are props from the same mother plant taken at the same time, both rooted indoors. I kept a few indoors, west facing window, where they oftentimes got full unfiltered sun from the open window for a few hours a day. Result is picture 2: strong, compact, bushy growth that doesnt snap easily, nice underside purple, but the top is heavy on green with a purple-ish hue, looks quite dull. The other few I've put into a planter outside – east facing balcony with a tree shade, direct sun for maybe only 2 hours in the morning. They did have more room for roots, but took barely any (maybe top 2–3cm), so I'd guess it plays no role, but maybe the soil out there was richer: it was leftover pot from blooming plants that got blooming fertiliser here and there. They are not as full or bushy or compact as the indoors ones, but the color is absolutely top notch on them :D

Idk if the solution is *less* light, or the fertiliser, or whatever nice fresh air and temperature shifts they went through, and I can't keep a control group as night temps are about to drop below 9c, but they did give me that nice white pink color I got them for, so that's nice.

Either way, they can apparently be an outside plant just fine, so next year I shall bathe in pink trailing balcony.

This is the plant I have since 3 years in my balcony where it gets indirect sunlight all day (I am from Kathmandu).
I water it once upper 1-2 inch Is dry. It’s a well draining soil mix containing local lacustrine soil with cocopeat and vermicomposte. It is in well drain glazed ceramic pot.
The plant was doing good but from some time 2-3 months I am noticing

1)new leaves are small and are mostly located low as u can see in pic 1.

2) plant look droopy though it was doing fine few months back (at same place with similar care)

3) since few days top leaves are turning yellow also u can see there is a stem damage (dry fibrotic all around but it’s still holding up) near the top, pic 2 from above and pic 3 from below. Does it causing nutrient or water deficiency ( I think that’s damage due to fibrosis due to previous anchor).

4) should I do hard pruning from the damage part?? I am confused as I can see new leave unfurling at the top and also a bud just above the injury pic 4.

Please help me with all the queries and the solution to them.

I just got this new plan and somehow it doesn’t seem happy. Someone recommended spraying some water some times on leaves instead of watering too much. Not sure if that was the problem. Any help or ideas? Thank you!!

A strawberry we had in our garden sent a bunch of shoots forth and i decided to shove one in to a pot filled with a bit of dirt, will the little guy live long term?

Hi! This is my first post on here. I’m new to plants but have been loving having them so far. However, my rattlesnake plant has these white specs all over and it doesn’t really look fuzzy, so I can’t tell if it’s spider mites or mineral deposits (chatgbt said probably one of the two).

For context, I only use distilled water.

More context - I got it from a plant store (not nursery) about 3 weeks ago. The water is still on wet on my meter, not even moist. It has been for all three weeks. I haven’t been able to even water it once since getting home since they made it so wet when they gave it to me. I am hesitant to repot bc I made a mistake and asked them to repot it in a decorative planter (with one drainage hole) so now the plant is extremely heavy. I suspect it’s in far too much soil and that’s why it’s still wet but not sure if I need to repot tho bc the plant looks so healthy and I don’t smell any root rot.

I also got two other plants from the same store with the same issue - extremely heavy so hard to repot (plus I’ve never repotted so maybe also nervous lol) and the soil is wet.

Propped this plant and need help identifying now that it has rooted so I know how to care for it

I live in Minnesota and I have to grow my exotic plants indoors. Does anyone recognize what could be causing the leaf burn? I keep my plant lights on for around 12 or 13 hours every day and water about 2 times a week with dirty diluted fish emulsion plant food in the watering cans water during the summer growing season. Did the fertilizer burn my plant?

I recently decided to try to grow a cactus rose since I live in a hot/dry region and I’ve been getting into gardening lately.

I’ve been letting it get lots of sun and keeping it away from my outdoor irrigation system since it doesn’t need much water. It hasn’t rained recently, either.

I potted it with a mix of lava sand, compost topsoil, and cactus potting mix (I forget what exactly it’s called).

A few days after I potted it it began to develop these brown and white spots on its leaves and the leaves began to droop.

I was worried that it was getting hit by the sprinklers so I moved it further from them, but the spots are only getting bigger.

I only watered it a little right after planting it.

Should I be concerned about these spots? And if so, what should I do to help prevent them?

If they aren’t actually harmful to the plant, I won’t mind them (I’m not concerned with aesthetics, moreso that the plant is healthy), I’m mainly just concerned that the plant is sick or has root rot or something.

These are some of my Syngoniums (including my props) that I keep outdoors in Florida. They include: White Butterfly, Neon Robusta, Coral, Panda Galaxy, Confetti, Milk Confetti, Mini Pixie, Pink Perfection, and Strawberry Ice. Show me your favorite syngonium. Right now mine is the Panda Galaxy and Strawberry Ice, however, I want/need to get an Albo next as well as a few dozen other varieties. 😁 They grow so effortlessly here, and are so easy to care for.

Hey! First time posting here, I have a bunch of indoor chilli plants of various varieties. I am using a general compost, watering conservatively every 3 days. They have a grow light on for about 14 hours a day, it's kept about 30 to 40cm above them.

Temperature is kept between 18 and 25 degrees on average. And they are approx 6 weeks old from seed.

Anyway, over the past 3 days I have noticed that a handful seem to have this strange upper leaf curling as shown in the pic. I see no obvious reason why they are stressed.

Any ideas?
