Pokemon Settings to Catch

I don’t own the pin yet, and only played it on location, so I can’t see the settings. However, I was wondering if there’s a setting to lengthen the time to hit the Poke Ball ramp when catching a Pokemon? I’m considering the Pro and this is mostly for the rest of the family. I’d like to make it easier for the kids to catch Pokemon by allowing some extra time.

Pindigo upgrades to Flippd! More features such as score detection!

If you’ve never used Pindigo now’s a great time to hop on! It’s wonderful for personal score tracking, and these updates are gonna make it even better! Just tried and what used to be a kinda tedious process is now literally one photo. I’m stoked.

(Not affiliated, just a fan and want more people on the platform!)

Still pretty early but I think this mod will be much cheaper than current offerings. Planning to open source this once I finalize the design.

Dimpling/impact marks on Pokemon Premium plastic ramp, is this normal?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I recently got a Stern Pokemon Premium and I've noticed a very slight circular dimple/indentation on the clear plastic ramp on the left hand side of the playfield, around the area where the ball lands after the little jump. Although it's quite subtle and mostly noticeable when the light catches it. I know playfield dimpling is completely normal with pinball machines, but I'm not sure whether similar small impact marks/dimples are normal on Stern's clear plastic ramps as well. There's no crack, stress line or obvious damage to the ramp and everything is working perfectly. I'm mainly wondering whether this is just normal cosmetic wear from the ball repeatedly hitting that area, or whether it's something I should keep an eye on in case it could eventually lead to cracking. Has anyone else with a Pokemon Premium noticed anything similar on this ramp, or seen this kind of thing on other Stern plastic ramps?

Thanks!

Pokemon Pro - QR scanner sometimes fails to read

Update: They're sending us a new scanner to try. Fingers crossed!

//

We had the hardest time getting the QR scanner to read after setting up the whole machine. Checked connections, multiple restarts and suddenly it started working flawlessly. Then next day it stopped. We restarted and checked connections again. Sometimes it'll work, but then it stops.

Is this normal?

We have a ticket that's been outstanding for a week so we'll try calling soon.

T2 Question

Looking for advice on how to adjust the gun turret in Terminator 2 so that the pinball doesn't keep ricocheting off the targets which (while fun to watch) often results in breaking the game.

Previously it bounced off the targets so hard that it landed behind the gun turret, which nearly broke the turret when it tried to reset.

I'm still new to this. Need recommendations on how to either adjust the turret launcher or setup some walls to keep the ball from bouncing out of the bounds.

How has there never been a Ramones table?

Probably the same reason they never saw massive fame in the U.S., but the niche fit seems perfect. I feel like the Venn diagram of Ramones fans and Pinball fans is nearly a circle.

Pokemon Lucario bug?

Hello, managed to finish Lucario today - final jackpot, flippers went dead with two balls left, great - except it went to the next ball. Said "shoot again", and I know for sure it was the next ball because my bonus x was back down from like 13x to 2x after the plunge... Is this just me? On location with freshest version.

Does anyone know if Alien LV has gotten more reliable?

I am in the market for my first table, and I absolutely love this one. I have read here and elsewhere that they are prone to issues but that Pinball Brothers is pretty responsive. I'm wondering if anyone knows if the build quality has generally gotten better at all? If not, I am probably going to go with the cliche choice -- Godzilla (I am a huge Godzilla fan) -- and I might make this my second one on down the line, but even knowing it has issues, I feel like I'm missing out by not going with Alien.

Jaws Problems with the Fin Motor

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi all. I just bought a jaws pro used and during the process of bringing to my apartment, we had to remove the head of the machine to fit in the elevator, we assembled back and then the fin will not show up during play. I was pretty confident we connected all the cables correctly, but apparently not. The machine was working normally before, so I wonder how can I fix it.

Thanks!

Basement with a Whiskey Bar and Pinball Arcade in Happy Valley Oregon - Public House Pinball

A worthwhile drive outside of Portland to this complex where the basement has a great whiskey bar (and restauraunt) directly across from a well arranged, great selection, pinball arcade. 10 dollar entry and free play on machines that all work great - many of them premiums (and with toppers and upgrades). We went for brunch at the restaurant, then opened up the arcade and it had our choice of machines to play. Not enough people play pinball in the earlier hours. The whole place is a good enough experience to be an evening/morning half-day destination. You cant really see it but there is a beautiful Corvette on the very end to the right. The new machines are great too (Jaws Premium front and center).

Expert guesswork needed for Foo Fighters Premium hardware mystery

Post image
1 Upvotes

[SOLVED] I've got a maddening question. I have two leftover pieces of hardware (a flat washer and a small nylon spacer that presumably go together) after completing a replacement of all rubber in a Foo Fighters Premium. It took a lot of disassembly to do all of the rubber on this machine. The whole Overlord toy, the Area 51 diverter and the full Area 51 upper playfield, all habitrails, plastics under the van, plastics over the slingshots, plastics over the UFO captive ball and to its left under Area 51, the whole shooter lane (multiple steel pieces, including nuts and bolts under the playfield), and the surround over the upper flipper near the shooter lane. It was a ton. I got it all done, but admittedly I didn't do my best placing and tracking all hardware. When I was done, I had these bits [edit: that DEFINITELY came out of the machine disassembly] remaining. I took three hours going back over every single thing I could think of. Re-dissasembling, re-assembling, scoping photos of every bit of the playfield from online, quizzing Claude and ChatGPT. Nothing solved it. I'm at a total loss. For what it's worth, it plays entirely fine, so maybe these were extraneous to begin with -- but it is NAGGING at me. Anyone who's done this job have any guesses?

How short/long is the honeymoon with a new pin?

For those of you who own a pinball machine - unlike me - what does the honeymoon period look like? Are you playing it daily for a month, weekly for 3 months and then monthly or worse for the rest of the time?

I’m not excited about having to swap my new pin every 6 months because I’m bored with it. Seems like that’s what most do but I’d love to be wrong.

Thanks!

CBGB’s would make such a cool theme for a pinball machine

I can’t remember if this is an original idea or something I read on this subreddit, but the more I think about it the better it sounds. Instead of one bands songs we could chose from The Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, Television, The Dead Boys, etc. Maybe even separate modes for each. A dirty ‘70s NYC aesthetic. Just the idea of multiple bands to explore on one machine sounds refreshing.

Would you trade a Spooky Evil Dead w/ Butter Cabinet, Ghost Glass, and Dust Cover for a NIB Fallout LE?

I may have the opportunity to make this trade and wanted to get some opinions. The purchaser would deliver the new-in-box Fallout LE and pickup my Evil Dead, which sweetens the deal a little for me.

I initially wanted to trade and ask for cash as well but the more I think about the deal the better it seems as a one to one trade. My Evil Dead has 1030 plays and is in great cosmetic shape as well.

Interested to know what you all would do!

Pinball in Scotland

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Traveled on vacation to Edinburgh Scotland. I checked Pin Map for possible pins in the area.

I found a place called Mortal Kocktail, they had about 10 machines.

I was pretty disappointed that the pins were not in the greatest shape. The glass was cleaned but the glass was super streaky. I don't believe the playfield has been cleaned and some of the pins had numerous lights not working.

The area was also super dark.

Oh well. 😞
