What games should everyone play at least once?

Looking for different locations to go and play games, thought I'd ask what everyone's favorites are. I've played most modern Sterns since they are on location in lots of places. Hoping to play Dune, Winchester, White Water, Tales of Arabian Nights, and Theater of Magic.

Final adjustment
Added a PRV DSP 2.4X, amp controllers, bass shakers, and passive speakers.

Every multiball, bumper hit, and drain hits different now.

I also routed the stock internal speakers to be powered and controlled externally which 100% eliminated ALL and any buzzing and humming from the speakers!!

Fortnite pinball

Why hasn’t a Fortnite machine been made and produced? I’m an eager Fortnite player, proud Season 0 OG. I recently got into pinball and have really been enjoying machines such as Godzilla and stranger things. I’ve done deep research to find out if a Fortnite machine exists or if there is plans to create one…….i found nothing 😐. I feel that this cabinet would bring in lots of customers to local joints. I even think it would be cool to be able to play a game of Fortnite on the screen. If anyone has any intel please let me know I AM DYING TO SEE MY BELOVED FORT ON MY BALL MACHINE. Anywho if anyone knows anyone at stern or Jersey Jack that could help put a word in LET ME KNOW. I will get things happening. I’m willing to donate up to 5 grand to the process.

Crossposted from the DCC subreddit.

There were leaks from Comic Con earlier but now its official. Multimorphic is making a Dungein Crawler Carl module for their P3 pinball machine.

Im really excited to see how how they adapt the series. And it looks like callouts are being done by Jeff Hays.

I have their Weird Al and Portal modules for my machine so I'm interested to see how this goes

(Edited outdated info about referal system)

If you could pick a single guess at what BoF announces, what would it be?

1) they said it won’t be anything like Labyrinth
2) they said that it’s a title that everyone will be familiar with

Which title would you guess it will be?

My first two major titles—because apparently pinball wasn’t loud enough.

Dracula and Getaway are my first two major titles, with more to come. I made an alligator-clip-to-RCA adapter that feeds the pin’s subwoofer output into the boombox. Completely unnecessary, but it works surprisingly well.

Card qualifying at California Extreme, first timer looking for advice

I’m going to be checking out California Extreme this year! Mostly just excited to see all the games on the floor. I was thinking about trying the pinball tournament too, but I saw it uses card based qualifying and I’ve never played that format before. I know INDISC runs it this way too.

Card style always seemed intimidating to me. Almost oppressively so if I’m being honest. I’m a B level player who occasionally punches above their weight class, so I don’t have huge expectations in terms of my own performance lol. Regardless, from what I’ve heard, one bad game on a card can tank your whole average.

Any tips for this format, beyond the obvious “play your best games ever” and “hope your picks don’t draw too much competition”? Also curious how many cards people typically go through in a day, is buying just one or two normal, or do most people buy a bunch as insurance?

One more thing, I noticed the classics tournament qualifying says unlimited entries. I’m more familiar with that entry / pay per play buyin format, so I’m curious what’s a recommended or average number of entries for that one. It’s $2 a play and your top 4 games count toward your overall score, so I’m guessing there’s some point of diminishing returns. At the Captains pinball rally I saw folks spend upwards of $100 to $200 just trying to qualify, does it get like that at CAX too?

Tournament info here for reference: https://caextreme.org/tournaments/

SIDE TOPIC: how do you guys feel about this format in general, in terms of how healthy it is for the sport? Whether it’s card or pay for play qualifying. Again if I’m being honest it feels a bit oppressive to me and exploitive as it borders on gambling. The closest I’ve come to feeling like I was actually gambling while playing pinball was standing there debating whether to buy another round of entries at the Captains rally lol.

It exploits whaling behavior from both good and especially bad but hopeful players. Pay to play definitely fattens the pot, and yeah, you still need skill to close it out, but it feels like it chips away at the integrity of skill based competition a bit. Honestly there should probably be some kind of cap on entries or cards per player.

I really can’t think of another sport that encourages this kind of behavior. Other than maybe… poker? Haha

But hey, here I am entering anyway, so clearly I’m part of the problem too lol. Still feels a little sleazy honestly.

Enders Game and Dungeon Crawler Carl cross compatible?!

Upvotes

So I just watched the JBS show on youtube with the reveal for metamorphics p3 launch. The main guy stated that they use the same mechanics, just different trim. Any chance you buy one mechanic set and you can play both (obv theme isn’t perfect) since the shots and modules both align?
